Have a look at the SR RP factbook:

Strangereal Roleplay Map

Very important points:

1. If you would like to stake a claim in for some land on the map then TG, British Bayonet, Blob Regulators, Dronelig, Western Vapia.
Do not Telegram Narmossia about map claims as they only show the map on the main page.
2. If you make a post on the RMB asking to be put on the map, or put it in a factbook or dispatch, you will be ignored, please refrain from doing so.
3. Try your best to find out in advance WHERE you would like to claim, not just "can i join the map pls" or a vague "this rough area pls" *points at an entire continent* Get yourself Linkpaint.net, make a thing, show where you want it. Or at the very absolute least try to put in words exactly where, it's not that hard.
4. When you know where you want to be, stay there, don't ask carto if you can move. "B-b-but that spot is nicer and-" Should have thought of that in advance.

-

-

Claims must be:
1. Reasonable enough to be put onto the map. If you want more accurate claims and you have Paint.net, beginner claims have a limit of 40k pixels. Your secondary nation will have to be at 20k pixels or less. However a secondary cannot be claimed immediately upon joining the map.
2. Picky is good. Feel free to request changes to borders if you aren't happy with them.
3. This map's planet is the same size as Earth, so we won't be making the map any bigger. If Earth can fit 200 nations, so can this.
4. We are not changing or adding new territory to the map. Use the existing land more efficiently and we won't need any more.
5. Not on any body of water.
-
Map removal will occur when:
1. AFRP, or Away From RP (not RPing for 30 days, 20 days in the case of people on other RMB maps)
2. RMB RP Ban (if one clause states "therefore, the RMB Cartography Staff shall remove <nation> from the map")
3. Cease to Exist (when the nation dies in the 28th day. Exceptions apply.)
4. Moderator Sanctioned
5. RP posts are not up to standard (refrain from making posts that are just one sentence)

1) All nations are able to claim up to the initial 40,000 claim limit for main nations at any time.

2) Action Expansions
Rules of the Action Expansion

Section 1: Expansion Size and Limitations
1A) The expansion may comprise of up to 20,000 pixels at any one time.
For example, if Nation A is 40k pixels they may expand up to 20k additional pixels for a total of 60k pixels.
The maximum size a nation can become is 200,000 pixels.

1B) For nations under the 40k claim limit they can claim their remaining pixels to bring them to the limit before applying the rule.
For example, if Nation B is 30k pixels they can claim their remaining 10k pixels to bring them to the 40k claim limit then apply the rule to expand an additional 20k pixels. In total Nation B would be able to use this expansion to expand by 30k pixels for a total of 60k pixels.

We are instituting a 200,000 pixel cap (this is equivalent to expanding by 160,000 px). You may only expand 20,000 pixels at a time with a 3 month cooldown between expansions. Finally, depending on the circumstances the Mod/Carto team will be able to grant extensions to expansions.

Section 2: How Expansions Occur and Work

Word Requirements for claims:
With 40,000 Initial
New nation size - Number of Words : Number of Pixels
40,000 - Initial
40,001 ≤60,000 - 1:2
60,001 ≤80,000 - 1:1
80,001 ≤100,000 - 1.2:1
100,001 ≤120,000 - 1.5:1
120,001 ≤140,000 - 1.8:1
140,001 ≤160,000 - 2.1:1
160,001 ≤180,000 - 2.4:1
180,001 ≤200,000 - 2.7:1

2A) For every pixels that are claimed, the RPer must provide the amount of word of roleplay related to their expansion.
Example: Nation A is expanding by 20k pixels from 40,000 to 60,000. In order to be valid, Nation A must write 10,000 words of roleplay.

2B) In regard to fulfilling the roleplay requirement for their expansion, worldbuilding posts regarding the expanded area can be made. These can form up to 25% of the total words required. Additionally, the use of alternative methods such as Flags and Maps etc. can fulfil up to 50% of the worldbuilding allowance.
For example, Nation C is expanding by 20k pixels and thus are required to provide 10k words of roleplay. Of the 10k words required, 2.5k (25%) can be provided through worldbuilding. Within those 2.5k words, up to 50% can be provided through alternative methods. In this example it would be equivalent to 1.25k words.

2C) Please notify us of a piece of Worldbuilding or RP that would count towards your word count quota by pinging ONE member of RMB RP Moderation OR RMB Cartography Staff with a link to the desired Worldbuilding piece or RP post. Failure to do so may result in said RP/Worldbuilding post not being counted towards your word quota. Additionally, you can mention one of the previously stated applicable members to check your word quota at anytime, and get updates to see if something has been counted or not, but just remember be respectful and patient as we may be busy with other discussions at the time of your contact. Impatience will get you nowhere.

2D) Using things such as one-liner posts* will not count towards the requirement. See post-script below what one-liner posts mean.

2E) After making a claim a period of 6 months (26 updates) will begin during which the requirements for the expansion must be met.

2F) The existing rules in regards to expansions such as those for colonial claims etc. will be applied to all expansions.

Section 3 - Criteria to Qualify for Expansion
3A) Only primary (main) nations are allowed this expansion. Alternative (secondary) nations will not.

3B) The nation must have been on the map for at least a period of 2 months, this starts from the map that the nation was added on. If you have been removed around this period, then this starts from your most recent re-addition.

3C) In order for the claim to be approved, an OOC written response must be made providing the reasoning why you wish for the expansion for that territory. This must inform us of the thought behind the expansion and how you will fulfil the roleplay mandate. Moderation and cartography may ask further questions for the purpose of clarification.

3D) Roleplay and Worldbuilding posts must be related to the expansion for it to be counted as valid.

* - One-liner posts are an umbrella term to describe RMB posts that compose only of one paragraph. News posts (or articles) do not count either. *
The following is the minimum length of one paragraph:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. After taking a long walk down dimly lit hallways, Chang Yo-won opened the door of her office. It was dark outside, and she had already done so much today. But there was still much more to be done. After drinking a glass of black coffee, she turned on her sleek computer and got to work. While other officials retired to their beds, the typing of keys could be heard from her office all night.

The Chang name was not new in high circles. Her father, Chang Sang-hun, had once been the Minister of Foreign Affairs, retiring a few years before the National Revolution. When the revolutionaries took power, they sought to project an image of stability on the world stage (insofar as that was possible right after a coup), and so they approached him, who then recommended her to his former post. Nepotism in action.

Yet despite the questionable circumstances of her appointment, Chang worked feverishly. After all, she had a lot to prove. She hadn't just been given a chance to show her own merits, but a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make a change in government. A change her father had always wanted, but was never quite strong enough to make.

With one final click, Chang turned off her computer. Before she went to sleep, though, she took a moment to look out the window. As she gazed at the illuminated skyline of Gwangseong, she imagined that some day, she'd gain the power to achieve her vision. Not any time soon, but some day. After that, she would mold Kasteria into what it always should've been: a nation of competence, diligence, and pragmatism.

Time: Mid-Morning

Prince Shabab sat at the head of the conference table, his expression set as he took in the tension in the room. Marshal Livia, head of the Royal Intelligence Service (RIS), stepped forward with a tablet in hand.

“Your Highness, we’ve extracted some information from the mercenaries we captured,” she began. “Their organization is well-funded and highly organized. This attack wasn’t random—it was coordinated.” She paused, looking somber. “However, their leader, Vance Keris, escaped.”

Shabab’s gaze darkened. “How did he manage that?”

Livia’s expression was grim. “After the attack, they scattered. Vance escaped quickly, heading south. We tracked him to Neklisi, an island south of Trachisian Confederacy controlled by pro-monarchy rebels. He’s taking refuge there with allies.”

Shabab’s jaw tightened as he processed this. "Then we need him brought in. We can't let him regroup. What options do we have?”

Livia replied, “We’ve drafted a formal request to the Trachisian government, asking for permission to use one of their nearby bases. We’ll await their response, but time is of the essence. We need their approval soon.”

Shabab nodded, his expression steely. “Prepare our forces. If they grant us access, we’ll deploy immediately.”

At that moment, Captain Elias, a senior officer of the Order of the Kingsguard, stepped forward. “Your Highness,” he said with a heavy tone. “We also need to address Captain Darius’s situation.”

Shabab’s eyes narrowed. “What of Darius?”

Elias took a breath. “He was working with the mercenaries, feeding them information and coordinating with certain nobles to undermine your reforms. He was a key figure in the conspiracy.”

Shabab’s face betrayed a flicker of anger, though he remained controlled. “I shouldn't have trusted that man.”

“Yes, Your Highness,” Elias confirmed. “He acted alone within the guard, but his betrayal is extensive.”

Shabab took a moment to collect himself. “Place him in high-security detention. No contact with anyone without my direct authorization. And ensure his communications are closely reviewed.”

Elias bowed. “Consider it done, Your Highness.”

Turning back to Livia, Shabab spoke calmly, though his tone was firm. “Continue monitoring the nobles involved. When we have enough evidence, we’ll take action. No one involved in this plot should go unpunished.”

“We will find you, Vance,” he muttered to himself, his resolve hardening. “And when we do, you’ll face justice.”

Royal Embassy of Sasmia
Sovereign Vale, Sasmia

His Excellency,
The President of the Trachisian Confederacy (Krehamn)
Iskyros, Trachisian Confederacy

Subject: Request for Permission to Conduct Military Operation on Neklisi Island and Use of Military Base

Excellency,

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to you today on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Shabab of the United Kingdom of Sasmia, in regard to a pressing matter of national security and mutual interest.

As you are aware, Sasmia has long maintained strong and cooperative relations with Trachis, and we deeply value the shared commitment to regional stability and security. Unfortunately, a grave situation has arisen that requires immediate and decisive action.

It has come to our attention that Vance Keris, a notorious individual responsible for orchestrating a series of violent attacks aimed at destabilizing the Kingdom of Sasmia, has sought refuge on Neklisi, a territory under the control of pro-monarchy rebels south of your nation. As a result of his actions and the threat he poses to both Sasmia and the broader region, we must take steps to neutralize him before he is able to solidify his position and further endanger our sovereignty.

In light of the urgency and the clear risk posed by this individual, we respectfully request your permission to use a military base as FOB near Neklisi Island apprehend Vance Keris. This operation would be confined to the island and strictly focused on capturing or neutralizing the threat posed by Keris and his associates. This base would serve as a point for logistical support and rapid deployment, ensuring that the operation is carried out swiftly and efficiently with minimal disruption to the region. We assure you that our forces will take every measure to minimize the impact on Trachis and its citizens.

We understand the sensitivities involved in such a request, and we want to emphasize that Sasmia’s intentions are purely focused on ensuring the safety and stability of our nation and the region. We intend to carry out this operation with the utmost discretion and respect for your sovereignty.

Should you grant us permission to proceed with the operation, we will, of course, work closely with your government and military to ensure coordination and avoid any unintended consequences. If, however, you feel that such an operation would not be in the best interests of Trachis, we will respect your decision, though we must emphasize that time is of the essence.

We await your response and hope for a favorable outcome, one that ensures the safety and security of both our nations.

With the highest regard,

Ambassador Raelyn Montclair

Hello new nation. :D
You’re welcome here.
How about I give you some dispatches to read.
I recommend you to read this:

TL;DR: The Gameside Advocates are here to help you!

What are the Gameside Advocates?

The Regional Message Board is often the first place new nations will come with questions and requests for help. The Ministry of Home Affairs has made it a government priority to assist new nations and to help point them in the right direction. We want to focus on establishing a friendship with all new nations who wish to get involved and to help them find an area of interest in The North Pacific. The Gameside Advocates are the leaders of this initiative, and have been appointed from a pool of active, friendly, helpful, and trustworthy RMB users.

The Gameside Advocates will also be making strides in being more transparent with the gameside population. This issue has been raised for years, the lack of activity and transparency of the decisions made by the forum government, that greatly affect the gameside population. As such, the Gameside Advocates will be rolling out new initiatives to correct this issue and bring together the gameside and forum players to create a stronger future for The North Pacific.

What are their duties?

Gameside Advocates are responsible for the following:

  • To welcome and assist new members.

  • To keep the Regional Message Board active as much as possible.

  • To be the chief organizer of fun games, temporary themes and daily ""questions"" for the Regional Message Board.

  • To keep the gameside community informed on government happenings.

Which nations make up the Gameside Advocates?

The following table lists the current Gameside Advocates. Feel free to contact them with any questions you have.

RMB Guidelines

Welcome to the Regional Message Board (RMB) of The North Pacific. We want to ensure everyone has a positive experience, so please familiarise yourself with the following guidelines. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact the Lead Gameside Advocate, GridLand Empire, or the Gameside Advocates, or ask on the RMB. And remember, the most important rule is to think before you post. You're interacting with other people, so let's keep it a respectful and pleasant environment.

The Regional Officers and Gameside Advocates have the authority to warn or suppress users who are found to be violating these guidelines. It is important to note, that even if a post does not explicitly infringe on the rules mentioned in this dispatch, it may still be considered a violation. You don't have to stress memorising every rule in this dispatch word for word. Common sense will get you pretty far!

The Regional Message Board Guidelines
1. NationStates Site Etiquette
The North Pacific community follows a set of guidelines put in place by the NationStates Moderators to maintain a respectful and safe online environment. Any user-generated content that violates these guidelines can, and will, be reported to the Site Moderation team. If you would like to learn more about the rules, you can refer to the One Stop Rule Shop.
2. Spam
Spam occurs and is abused in a wide variety of forms, so we reserve the right to suppress the following scenarios of a post. The most important rule to remember is "Don't spam!" Disregarding the examples listed, it is also a matter of interpretation by the ROs. With justification, other messages can be classified as spam and suppressed.

The general definition of spam is: "irrelevant or unsolicited messages", often with malicious intents and disruptive consequences to the RMB.

Double posts that add to the conversations (like replies to two different posts) are okay, two spam posts are not.
Triple posts will be suppressed

It is also allowed to post a second message 10 minutes after your last one.

Triple posts, quadruple posts or others are still prohibited.

Lionsroar wrote:🦁

An emoji without any further text in a post counts as spam. The same applies to the excessive use of emojis in a message.

Lionsroar wrote:THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE, DON'T DO IT

This also includes posts with even a few lowercase letters. The percentage is key, and everything more than 50% will be suppressed.

Long Posts
Long posts are spammy and too big for the RMB. It's especially annoying for Mobile Users. When writing long paragraphs, please use spoilers.

Short Posts
Also, remember to not only post one letter or word but also write these words out. Not everyone understands every abbreviation, and it's not helpful in a conversation.

Please translate any language to English.
The language of the RMB is UK/US English - it's not the readers task to translate.

Your posts must attempt to carry a conversation.

Sil Dorsett wrote:I have skibidi rizz level 3 gyatt Kal Cenat gyatt ice spice fanum tax level 3 sigma chat baby gronk grimace shake qjdhuqwhuweqhuo13

Don't do the above.

3. ROs and GAs
Regional Officers and Gameside Advocates always have the last word. If they say to cut it out, then you will follow it. Regional Officers also reserve the right to suppress rule-breaking posts and even keep a ban possible.
4. Behave appropriately!
Use your common sense, you are interacting with other human beings! Keep it PG-13. Don't flame or harass.
5. [UPDATED] Recruitment/Advertisement Rules
Any posts recruiting for other regions is strictly prohibited! Advertisement is defined as the attempt to sway any resident of The North Pacific to move any of their in-game nations to a region that is decidedly not the said region. Advertisement includes: Using the "[region][/region]" BBCode link or the "nationstates.net/region=" link to showcase any region. Posting about the benefits of leaving the region and joining the other region. Asking for any nation of the region to send a puppet to their region. Personal advertisement should be limited as much as possible, as it should not serve in a disruptive matter to the RMB. This includes the advertisement for upvotes, endorsements, events, polls, etc. If you want to advertise certain content on the RMB, talk to the current Lead Gameside Advocate for their approval.
6. RolePlay
One-liner or other low-effort RP is strictly prohibited. Instead, join one of our official RolePlay settings or provide a similar level of quality in your RP.
7. Additional
- Do not speak on behalf of the community unless it is your duty to do so.
- Do not quote rule-breaking posts. Instead, edit -snip- into the quote if necessary. The best way is to not interact and let the ROs and GAs deal with the matter.
- Please remove pings, when quoting another user's message. Also, limit your usage of pings. Excessive pinging and liking of other nations and their posts need approval.

Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the suppression of posts without warning. Just because some cases are not specified in the examples does not legitimize them. The RO always has the last word!
