Happy Easter everyone!

This weekend is general conference. If you don’t know what it is, it’s basically a 14 hour long televised Mormon sermon that’s split up over 2 days.
I am not Mormon, so yesterday I hid in the basement while my family watched conference. I did my taxes and some homework.
Today, I’m leaving my house on Easter Sunday to go somewhere, anywhere to get away from the sounds of “prophets, seers, and revelators” condemning my lifestyle both as an exmormon and as a gay man.
I also know these speeches hurt my family. Many of them encourage parents not to let their children leave the church. For my parents, they feel like they’ve failed every time someone brings it up.
There’s some good news though: my brother decided to bail on conference too, so I’ll have a traveling buddy today. I think we’re gonna go see golden spike national historic site.

Southern Kazima
Jihadists belonging to the Islamic Army of Lyoa raided at least five villages in Southern Kazima province. Each of these villages, made up entirely of those following the Catholic faith, were involved in Easter celebrations. Jihadist rebels attacked the villages with machetes and blunt weapons, brutally killing at least 39 civilians in the process. The rebels also set fire to multiple houses. Many civilians who were not killed in the attacks fled to the bush and remain displaced.

Northern Mitende
Islamic Army of Lyoa jihadists attacked three villages in Northern Mitende, all made up of Catholics celebrating Easter. The jihadists attacked and killed civilians with automatic weapons and machetes, killing around 15 people total. The assailants also burned down multiple houses in the attacks as well.

Mitende-Kazima Border
Jihadist forces of the Islamic Army of Lyoa attacked a Lyoan Protestant village located on the border of Mitende and Kazima provinces. The village was active in Easter celebrations. Jihadists attacked with bladed weapons, brutally killing seven villagers in the attack. In this incident, only one house was burned by the attackers.
