The LCRUA Regional Message Board
*opens a portal to an alternate dimension where the LCRUA is still active, but all of the residents are wannabe sparkling water aficionados who don't even know how to spell "La Croix"*
Hi! Just finished voting on the new constitutional ammendment that ends the prohibition of all beverages that aren't Lih Kroi sparkling water from being referenced in the RMB and discord server. Although staunchly against regional founding traditions, I think this is a progressive move towards a bright future where we can inquire about a healthy variety of drinks, as well as guiding us away from absolutionist Le Cruio corporate monopolization of sparkling water!
Public Announcement from Councillor Smolcasm
Hi, I'm Smolcasm, one of the *glances at permanent marker writings on left hand* Councillors of the LCRUA. You may know me from such RMB posts as "Poke." or The 'Dead Region' Song. I'm here to report on the state of our regional government. My report is thus: It... exists. Technically. And, frankly, that's about the gist of it.
I have recently participated in a Council meeting - the first since June, I believe - wherein we denied an embassy request and discussed our current state of activity. I think I speak for the Council when I say that we agree that something must be done so that our community may at least experience a slow, constant trickle of activity as opposed to the sporadic, brief bursts we've seen about a dozen times in the span of a year - but an obvious solution is not forthcoming.
I would like to announce that during this meeting, I devised a not-so-obvious solution: a new, minimalist Constitution. If every facet of our region is currently being represented by the bare minimum necessary to keep us from dissolving outright, our laws should reflect that ethos while still leaving room for the possibility, however remote, of future expansion. It is my hope that achieving cohesion in this ethos will help us to achieve a more casual atmosphere, eliminate barriers to the swift organization of activities and initiatives on an ad hoc basis, and possibly even allow for an increase in activity inspired by our mutual comfort that none of us need devote any more or less time and energy to this community than we wish to.
The following is my third draft for a new Constitution:
A Council of volunteers, initially formed from Council members under the previous Constitution, governs the LCRUA.
The Council's collective duty is to anticipate and serve the community's needs, such as upkeep, recruitment, and organized role play.
Any Councillor may accept responsibility for one or more of these tasks for, or leave the Council at, a period of time of their choosing.
The Council holds a vote when inducting new volunteers or making a decision on which Councillors may disagree; the status quo is maintained until a decision receives a majority of votes.
It is my hope that we can discuss this idea over a nice refreshing L'Croy; I would appreciate it if y'all would offer feedback, or even your own versions, such that we can vote to enact a minimalist Constitution at some point in the near future.
Thank you for reading, and I'm sorry for... well, everything. Let's work together!
I seldom give advance warning when this happens, but this time I'm able to:
I won't be able to use a computer as often as I'd like for the coming week - maybe longer - and thus can't log into NationStates on a moment's notice. I should still be able to reply to Discord notifications in a semi-timely manner, though.
