The Russian Empire has collapsed. Its remains are everything that Russia began with in the beginning, having lost all of their land they have worked so hard to maintain and keep, fighting and dying for it countless times. No victories so great could revive the pride of a nation who had just had all of their land stripped from them. The army, wiped out, and entire cities have been reduced to nothing but rubble. Angry and hungry citizens roam the streets of Vladivostok, the former capital, and Moscow, as they riot. The people of Russia resort to stealing and a life of crime as the only police forces that still exist try to keep the anarchy from getting too bad. Prisons are destroyed as they take the metal from the gates and iron doors to keep the prisoners in to use them for making more weapons to build a “partisan” army.
As the government tried to rebuild cities like Vladivostok and Moscow after being torn apart by war, they would continuously go into debt and run out of money. Not even the richest could afford to help in the efforts to rebuild, meaning entire streets lay in waste as homes and businesses may forever remain destroyed. Industries that previously thrived are now struggling to stay afloat in the new Russia, closing down factories and laying off workers. Yet not a single country in The Labyrinth seemed to care. Citizens of every nation just watched as the final embers of a once great and bustling nation turned to nothing but ash and dust, ready to be washed away by the winds and the rain that were soon to come and never be heard of again.
Was there a way to return? Would Russia be able to survive? “There once was a dream called Russia. You could only whisper it. Anything more than a whisper, and it would vanish.” -Markoni Aurelimyr (not real!!)
As former allies of the empire turned their back, opportunists like Poland, Ukraine, and Sweden saw an advantage. The four nations that broke free were rich and prosperous, with economies and militaries bound for success. They have all proven that the Russian bear was old and frail at the time of the war. Now that they are officially free, the world could see that the “bear” was dead and decaying and completely incapable of fighting.

Sons are supposed to bury their fathers in peace. Sons are supposed to be able to walk their streets without fear, without prejudice. But ideals are not reality without a desire to maintain and fight for their just causes.
Man will slight man, Democrats will rob Socialists, Socialists to Nationalists. Never had the holy grounds of Bonvolkia been so soaked with blood and tears. Where had the comraderie and familial love gone? Syndicalists and Communists take to downtrodden cities, corrupting the minds of workers facing hard times. Preaching the glories of revolution and the bloodshed to follow, condoning the killing of governmental figures and civilians alike. Nationalists in their yellow uniforms and with their blackened blades hunt down any who dare oppose; man, woman, or child. They indoctrinate youths to believe in the inconceivable concepts of racial superiority, and that woman are required to submit to the "superior sex".
Both groups still seek to undermine the country on God's pedestal. However we will not yield, Bonvolkia still stands. The blood spilt is of innocence and patriotism, no matter the horrors our noble people face, they will face the challenge. Bonvolkia is a harbinger of democracy and equality. We have always supported those under us and shall continue doing so. Through the bloodied forests to the most gracious of plains, Bonvolkia endures.
Our nation has seen remarkable growth amongst the turmoil. Industry booms, fields plentiful, and the banks full. Our schools teaching new methods and work practices for both genders of our young. Resulting in the first Bonvolkian women to receive a PHD in Physics and in 1903 the flight of the Drudik Brothers local aircraft. These advances in education and science is proof that Bonvolkia still stands as a contender and that democracy can and will prevail.
Our troops will standby us through these troubling times. And that I thank them. For our future shines within an arms reach, and they will help us seize it.
