Voting Results for Speaker of the House Election

覧覧覧覧覧覧

As every MP has cast their votes, the voting period is now closed.

A majority in favor of a Speaker-candidate has been established!

MP Brototh is therefore duly elected to the position of Speaker of the House (for the first time!) by a simple majority of 6-4-1 heading into the 18th term of the House of Commons.

In accordance to L.R. 051 "Congress Regulation Act (2021)", Article III Section III, with more than one candidate standing to be Speaker of the House, the second placed candidate in the election is to be the Shadow Speaker. With that, the MP Snalland is the incoming Shadow Speaker of the House.

Parliamentary business will resume as soon as Speaker Brototh brings the first matter into session.

- Taungu
Acting Electoral Commissioner of Thaecia

I thank the Acting Electoral Commissioner Taungu for running the Speaker election and the General election.

I will approach my desired candidates for Deputy Speaker today and see if they are willing to take up the position. Snalland, if you wish to appoint a Deputy Shadow Speaker, let me know. Additionally, a docket is in the works. But I did quite literally just wake up I'm still lying in bed lmao. Other duties such as the appointment of representatives to the Committee will happen in due time, for that specifically I will be discussing with the Chairman of the Senate.

MPs, we are now debating the reconfirmation of The Marconian State to the High Court.

The nation has been a Justice for the previous six months. In a time where the Court was relatively quite and inactive, Marco was still around, doing work all along. Marco is a very 'behind the scenes' character, but he has had great experience in Thaecian law with his previous term and with his lengthy service as an MP. I have no doubts about the nominee myself and will be glad to see him serve out another term in the Court. Being behind the scenes, he is detached from the partisan politics of today in a good way: he has a strong sense of neutrality practically unlike almost any other Thaecian that could potentially be nominated for the Court.

I encourage MPs to let us know their thoughts and feel free to ask any questions to the nominee about why he would be a good fit for the role.

While I don't know the nominee very well, I have heard excellent things about them and have no doubt that they will continue to serve Thaecia well in the Hight Court.

While I do have confidence in recent decisions.ade by Brototh, I feel we should be able to question Marco directly.

You are allowed to question him directly !
He has full permission to speak on the House floor as he is being considered for a position by the House (cite 051).

As I said, please "feel free to ask any questions to the nominee" (quote myself).

I have confidence that the nominee will continue to fulfil their role effectively and I believe that he will do a great job in the High Court for another term.

Having served with marconian in the court before, I'm confident of his qualifications and impartiality. That being said, I'm worried about his activity recently, so I would like to ask The Marconian State: can you commit to remaining active throughout the upcoming term, if confirmed justice?

Let this reply be proof I'm active enough to be able to commit to my position as Justice. I may have obligations outside of this region and the multiverse, but I can commit the necessary time to serve properly as Justice for the region of Thaecia.

I'd also like to build on this statement by clarifying that even if Marco isn't seen too well in the OOC region he still is well committed to his IC duties, in case anyone else were concerned for his activity.

I completely support Marco's reconfirmation as Justice as his hard work shows true his capability to well be justice, thus I support Marco's reconfirmation as justice

We have begun voting on The Marconian State's reconfirmation.
