RP: Battle at the Front Lines

While the Nationalists continue their march north towards Socialist territory, S Company (or "Socks" Company), consisting around 100 infantry, were ambushed by around 600 Socialist infantry. Surrounded on all sides and outnumbered, S Company fought vakiantly. their commander, Captain Atric Lezel, showed great leadership in the battle. Equipped with only a sabre, the Captain fought bravely alongside his men. When the standard bearer carrying the Windardian flag was killed, Lezel caught the flag and ordered his men to rally behind him. He led a heroic charge up a hill to take a vital position in the skirmish, and was in fact at the front of it. After fighting over the hill, the Socialists on the hill were defeated. With a vital position now in their hands, they opened fire on the Socialists below them, eventually causing them to capitulate. By the end of the day, S Company had killed 250 Socialists, but had lost 80 in the process.

When news of the battle broke out, Captain Lezel became a popular figure for Windardian Nationalism. S Company has since merged with R Company. Ezrael used this victory to mock his Socialist adversaries, saying "How do you lose to a force you outnumber more than 5 to 1, when you surround them and take them surprise? Let this battle at Buyov's Trail be the telling tale for the rest of this war!"

Basaran wrote:RP: Creating A National Sport
Sports have long been a tradition of the living, a method to entertain the masses. Sports have changed throughout the centuries, becoming more structured and overall safer. With the KFA being hosted in Reru Tanda and the Olympics in Kiamai, Basaran has developed an interest in sports, rooting for teams and players across the board. Though while largely unsuccessful in the former and without a presence in the latter, the nation turns to localized sporting events for entertainment. With reconstruction efforts moving along relatively smoothly, eyes turn to the ruined city of New Jacinto, once the heart of the Syndicalist Gambling enterprises, ran by Icewindian Mafias. In its place will arise a new slew of gambling opportunities with the city's reconstruction blueprints to include several stadiums, one for each major sport such as Soccer, Football, Basketball, Baseball, and NASCAR. However, one arena is set to return to the spotlight after having vanished for centuries: Gladiatorial Combat.

Gladiatorial combat is something prevalent pre and during the medieval age. Quality of life however has changed since then, with more and more people having the will to live beyond their twenties and slavery having been banned for 300 years. The method of fighting was easy to create as the combatants would use wooden weapons to beat each other into submission, a win by yield game, thus prohibiting deathmatches. However, spontaneous events can include criminals condemned to death row who'll then be provided with actual weapons to kill each other with.

Queen Mirvelle, a woman who's supported several renaissance fairs over the years, authorized the construction of the arena as well as a program to jumpstart it when construction finishes in 2 years, as it got priority over the other arenas. Initial plans set to create an annual event in which combatants will compete over the period of a week for the title of "Grand Champion". The arena will also be open internationally for other nations to send in combatants of their own to duke it out in the arena.
(Victor will be determined at the roll of 20-sided dice)

Testing phases for the arena are beginning and the following nations are invited to the beta-test: Exb renia, Arc hron empire, Et rius, Kia mai, and S aint shokai. The Beta Test will run a collection of best out of 3 fights as well as helping further flesh out the rule system.

RP
With this new competition arising in Basaran, Exbrenia holds raffles for competitors. With it being in the Beta system, Exbrenia will pull ten names. With the names being pulled, the competitors prep for their trip to Basaran

A lopsided far-speak display leaned against a blood stained wall, the pretty announcer’s words fell on deaf ears as passersby marched through the debris-strewn streets trying to get the city back in order.

-ere reporting live from the summit of Arcadia where just hours ago the Athejian combined military forces drove the accursed evil from our lands. Estimates on the low side have placed civilian and military casualties numbering in the hundreds of millions, most occurring when the capital’s underground sections built into the subterranean network of volcanic caves were overwhelmed. As of now they have still yet to be secured… Moving on, the Sword Saints have-

The display winked out of existence, a collective sigh went up from the city’s denizens as the newly activated Magius Reactors struggled to keep the mana conduits supplied. Thanks to the countless sacrifices by the military the corruption on Arcadia had not made it past its shores, the onslaught of the enemy broke against wave after wave of Athejian soldiers storming their way up from the shores towards the summit of the island. Special assault forces assembled behind the lines and managed to successfully retake and occupy strategic locations around the island in order to reestablish the nationwide magic circle. The magic not only lifted the inclement weather that made it impossible to see further than several meters, but also weakened and restrained the Forsaken One.

Because of the newly granted vision the troops no longer had to engage the foul offspring of the Forsaken One in close combat, giving them the ability to cut them down at range with a combination of automatic gunfire and spells. Needless to say this also allowed the navy to train their massive guns with devastating accuracy, whole swarms of the demonic creatures were obliterated under a hail of high explosive shells. The skies were torn asunder as Aerobatteries filled the air with lead, shredding the airborne enemies that wrought so much destruction to our legions of angels.

After pushing the enemy back into the caldera the navy, mage corps, and what remained of the legionnaire angels prepared to bombard the Forsaken One into dust, but before even a shot was fired the Seraphim appeared above it in her true form. In an instant the whole of the Athejian isles was bathed in a blinding pure light which vanished as quickly as it came. When the soldier’s eyes cleared the creature was gone, only the smoldering ruined remains of the capital Austera remained.

The devastation of Arcadia dealt a staggering blow to the Athejian economy, as the industrial, economic, and political heart of the nation, the destruction of the cities, infrastructure, and the either displaced or slain civilian population, would take nearly a decade to repair. The dockyards, foundries, manufactories, and great forges were heavily damaged or were so broken that they needed to be replaced in their entirety. For now the heavily populated islands of Aurorum and Harmona would send a good portion of their crowded people to Arcadia to rebuild, a grim silver lining in the midst of all things. The incident had shaken the military leadership, leading to promises of reform in the future. This would include the heavy fortification of Arcadia, with the local population displaced or otherwise killed projects of this scale could be undertaken with little resistance. Large thick walls, bastions, forts, castles, trenches, turrets, every possible form of static defense would be blasted, carved, and built from the shores of the island to the center of the volcanic caldera. The cities and roads would be constructed similarly, with newer more unyielding materials and with military strategy in mind. Of course, this would take several decades to complete, though this would ultimately rely on how quickly industry could be restarted.

Military assets from abroad would also be recalled, accelerating reform and reconstruction efforts. The steel plate of the Athejian troops proved to be utterly useless against the claws and teeth of the creatures and the ammunition used against them were found to be lacking in stopping power. The effectiveness of naval bombardment could not be understated, and the military leadership found themselves wanting similar long range fire support for more in-land operations. While the average Athejian battlemage was capable of artillery spells, these were limited to direct line of sight and took its toll on the caster so sustained bombardment against fortified targets was impossible without a large number of people to cycle through. To remedy this the military would begin development of terrestrial mobile artillery systems. The logistics corps had also been at its breaking point during this battle, it was clear the military needed a more effective transport than the weak autocarraiges and fixed track locomotives. Likewise a similar problem was faced with the angelic legions, just flying to the combat area had taken a significant portion of their energy and a need to save enough energy to fly back to base caused their effective combat time down an unacceptable minimum.

Near the shorelines, the boat stops to find several wonderful sights in the waters, not just coastal birds flying above, but seals, temnospondyls (e.g koolasuchus)and even sperm whales are seen in the waters, almost with curiosity over this iron floatie they see. Then, a string of Canoes, built from 1 piece of Redwood Trunk, elaborate and elongated, approaches the boat. These are the Bōksokrdzō, the Coastal Dzē. They invite these visitors to accompany them to shore, with one individual shouting:

Unofficially however she would begin offering services as a mercenary and an assassin under the identity of "Lihakirves" (Rekkenian for cleaver). Avoiding actual contact with her customers and wearing a mask in order to protect her true identity she would in the time of just a few months become quite known for her abilities in the business of "protecting the buyer's interests" and the brutal way she executed her jobs usually leaving her victims riddled with long deep cuts and nearly runic-looking burns.

This would lead her to work for a multitude of private well-paying contractors who had a bone to pick with significant people. These employers are rumoured to include the hiding leadership of the Demiran underground, the Paran pizza mafia and the Ruvenian independence movement along with some vaguer rumours of "Lihakirves" being a part of a possible conspiracy against Empress Sievi supposedly orchestrated by Grand Duchess Qerri-Stormberg, Lord Velipuoli and Cpt. Tulimaa. However with the rumour of the possible conspiracy being vague enough to sometimes include people like Duchess Rose Von Braun or Queen Mirvelle of Basaran, the rumours have been greatly disregarded as delusions of some mentally unwell conspiracy theorists.

Meanwhile on the high-throne of Rekken, Empress Sievi would enjoy her newfound happiness with her husband back with her and her daughter on the throne of Alffa allowing her to see her grandchildren.
She would also be preparing the RSS for another Overshine expansion plan, with the aim to further improve the space-station's capabilities in food production, this time striving for self-reliance instead of pure research on orbital farming.

RP || Artaecus: 2140 Equipment Evaluation

The Artaecusian Government has officially reported on recent evaluations on existing equipment as part of the now declassified 2140 Equipment Evaluation program. This program was aimed at researching and evaluating equipment currently in service to determine whether replacements or life-extension programs were required to keep tthe Artaecusian military on par with foreign powers all over Kalrania. The program itself officially started off earlier this year, with official reports only being released after the program completed its goal. Reasons given to the press cited the requirement to maintain an edge and overmatch over opposing forces all over Kalrania, and to ensure the ability to rapidly deploy into any environment all over the globe (This reason being important as they are expected to defend Artaecusian guaranteed territories such as East Kowen and Incheon City). Not all details had been declassified, with the following being released to the press and general public:

The first of the evaluations were conducted on what some would consider the workhorse of the Artaecusian Legions; The M8 Palisade. The M8 Palisade has been in service for over a century with several changes and upgrades being made over the course of its service. With it being designed to be modular from the start, the vehicle has been able to accept upgrades easily and maintain relevance even a hundred years after it was officially accepted for service. With the latest iteration, the M8A4, it was able to easily pass the evaluations with minor changes being recommended to the current design. The newer power pack allowed the vehicle to traverse both roads and cross-country at blistering speeds, hills and inclines were not an issue thanks to the active-hydropneumatic suspension system. When it came to firing tests, the M8A4 was able to ensure 99% hit probability at ranges up to 3km with the APFSDS rounds. The range was further extended to 12km when firing the LAHAT (Gun-launched missile). When it came to protection evaluations, the M8A4 was able to completely resist sabots frontally coming from captured T-72 vehicles from the Kowenian campaigns at every range with the side resisting APFSDS at ranges of 1km. It was noted that the improved exterior coating decreased detection range both in radar and thermal imaging.

The second evaluations were made on infantry equipment, most notably both firearms and protective gear. There had been many debates over the topic, ranging from the adoption of micro-rocket munitions to whether the concept of Power Armor Infantry should be scrapped, reformed, or left as it is. Thanks to the recent evaluations, answers have been given to these debates. Starting off with firearms, the reports have stated that micro-rocket munitions are superior to conventional rounds for Artaecusian doctrine and application. Citing that the explosive payload on the 14.5mm micro-rocket round was effective in breaching buildings and reducing the time-to-kill hostiles. Recommendations were made to research and develop smaller and lighter versions of these rounds but without sacrificing the payload or range as complaints were made that infantry weren't able to carry as many spare ammunition compared to conventionally equipped infantry. Power armor had been a heated debate for a while, some praising its capabilities and fear-factor whilst others claim it is a waste of tax-payer money. The latest iteration of power armor, the M-80A2, has been recommended for either replacement or upgrades due to several underlying issues with the model. Poor visibility over the shoulders hindered observation in battlefield conditions, and several models were found to have defective rangefinders. Artae-Tek has stated upgrades for existing models are currently in development with a replacement program being offered to the Government. So far, the Artaecusian Government has not stated whether to pursue replacements.

The aircraft itself was unremarkable from the distance it was observed from, as the black exterior coat helped reduce the ability to make out details on the aircraft itself. Interestingly enough, radar contact was not established until it was within visual range of one of the Solingarchi's radar installations. The radar cross-section of the aircraft was extremely small, indicating the aircraft had stealth capability that absorbed the radar's waves.

The aircraft continued flying into Solingarchi territory at Mach 1.8, making several wide turns over some mountain ranges before suddenly descending into a dive. Radar contact was immediately lost and never re-established after this point, neither were observers able to witness the black UFO in Solingarchi airspace. Did it crash? To add to further confusion, Artaecusian aircraft were never known to patrol deep into Solingarchi airspace without clearance.

Deep within an unpopulated, forested section of the Republic of Vale, along the border between the nation of Artaecus and the Solingarchi Confederation, was a Communications Relay Station. Only manned 6 months of the year, the Communications Station in question was built to run primarily autonomous, with operators to enter in shifts to perform maintenance across the grounds.
It was during the Mid-Summer month of June, during one of the manned shifts of the year, that an abnormality came into play.
Throughout the year, the area in itself was rather uninteresting. There were the occasional visits from Artaecusian Border Guards, where they drank beer and played some friendly games, but those visits were far and few between. The area itself, was also known for a lack of radar contact, or really anything interesting happening. Just the pine trees surrounding, the crisp mountain air, and the fauna who inhabited the area.

    Today, however, would be different.

Around noontime, a radar contact would be registered. No identification, no F/F tags, just a small blip registering an unidentified object, travelling at mach speeds. This could have and likely would have been taken as an equipment malfunction, if it weren't for the roar of sound that came at about the same time - the sound of a flying, supersonic aircraft, flying at low altitude. The operator inside went out to look for whatever it was, only to see what appeared to be a stealth aircraft, without any discernible hull markings or identification tags. As the operator watched, the aircraft appeared to make several wide turns, before taking a sharp dive down. Radar Contact ceased afterwards, and nothing was seen afterwards.

The Operator quickly went inside of the Station, gathering the radar data and sending a transmission to Confederate Military Command, detailing the events, and sending the data of the event.

Within hours, a response was en route to the area. Two Recon Teams, as well as a Paladin Strike Team, were mobilized and en route to the area, travelling by helicopter from the nearest airbase outside of the Vale Metro Area. These teams were tasked with the investigation of the area, as well as the immediate classification of information from the Station. This entire situation was to be classified, of a highly secret level. Nobody outside of those who needed to know would be allowed to know of the situation which had taken place.

Receiving a message from someone who claimed to be of Archian Royalty, the Solingarchi Royalty would prepare a meeting between the woman who claimed to be of Archian Royalty, and a Solingarchi Princess.

For 6 days has Ňōmdzōgdzōt (Shaman-King) Kamvēnkēr pondered about this in isolation...his brother departed for the south and hasn't arrived yet and he now has a secret to keep, but he can't keep it forever, the Fire Dagger and Book of Speech has been pondering his mind since the encounter...His son and daughter have noticed a strange change in his father...Poor souls he thinks, having to witness him yet again acting different, yet with so much death near him, so much to deal with and now all of the outsiders and old allies coming back...he thinks to himself "They must not know, they are too young. They must not know either, they weren't our allies back then, they won't be now..." He then goes on a journey, to the same spot where he found the Ghost-People, his sons are with him but he leaves them with his escort and cousin to be guarded, his cousin understands what he is doing...He then opens the Book of Speech and says to the King of The desert badlands.

Kamvēnkēr: "We need to talk, now, or they will know that you exist and what i've kept secret will eventually spill out with their curiosity"

In the time since the last meeting, roughly 600 weapons had been made. They are as strong as the King of the Forest had promised them to be. The weapons have been sent out, and are being delivered to the Shaman-King. There was also a small surprise included within the shipment, a full set of reinforced leather that had been enchanted, somehow custom fit for the Shaman-King.

RP: Rules of Hospitality

The King is disappointed to hear of what has happened so soon. Under the rules of hospitality, hosts should greet guest warmly, offer them shelter, food, and water. His welcomed guest will find their return much faster and simpler. The rules of hospitality state that if a guest is unwelcomed or hostile, the host has the full right to do what they must to remove them from their home. The unwelcomed guest will have it made known that they are not welcomed. The Kings men will work within the fog, acting as agents of terror hiding and ambushing those who come with harmful intent.
