The End of It All

The near-year of negotiations finally come to an end. A possible exit deal is forged by the Evacasian foreign ministry, and it seems the imminent departure of KERU is finally about to take place.

A mix of relief and fear is felt in equal amounts. The highly anticipated and long overdue deal would be released, but at the same time, Evacasia's long and fruitful membership of KERU brought huge success and development. With all that gone, what is left for the people? What is left for the nation?

Nonetheless it must be gone ahead with. The following proposals are sent to KERU; if agreed upon, they will take affect immediately.

• Evacasia, and the autonomous Republic of Tírnua, will no longer be considered members of KERU.

• Evacasia will depart the customs union and single market. Over a period of 10 years, tariffs will be slowly re-imposed.

• The Kalro will be fazed out over a period of 10 years. It will be replaced by Evacasia's former currency, the Sovereign.

• All KERU citizens in Evacasia have a period of 3 years to either register citizenship or return to their countries. If they do not do either of these within that time, they will be considered illegal immigrants.

• The joint scientific database and KERUSI program will continue with Evacasia. However, Evacasia withholds the ability to withdraw from them at any point.

Following a televised address by president Fabrèga, diplomatic delegations have been sent to the neighbouring Saint Shokai and Evacasia to establish relations and explore possibilities of land trade-routes. Additional delegations were sent to Srednjaci, Windardia and Rekken to establish relations.

The charlesland is a modern nation, the Charlesians are known for their colourful and poetic use of language, perhaps to the amusement of others.

All of these delegation are preceded by troubadours adorning traditional Medieval attire, singing poems and songs of courtly love and the praise of mythical heroes of old.

They come bearing fragrant bouquets and essences of lavender,
the scents of which brings one to the sunny lavender fields amidst majestic mountains.
They bring delicacies such as the sweet còcamel, a traditional honey pastries,
and some of the countries' finest foie gras and most savorous of
cheeses (the latter of which pleases some senses and not others).
More importantly however, the delegations bears world renown Charlesian wines,
arriving in quantities deemed excessive even by Charlesian standards.
The wines are selected from the finest vintages across each of the country's regions,
the taste of which serenades one's palette and enamours the soul (and are proven to be healthy for the heart).

The charlesland awaits with impatience to establish diplomatic ties with its neighbours.

The delegation are welcomed into Evacasia, meeting Evacasia's own diplomats in the southern city of Rettungsleine. They are given a quick tour of the old city, and are offered gifts of traditional Evacasian and Tírnuan food.

Now that Evacasia will soon be independent of KERU foreign policy, a bright future of close relations with the western neighbour is looked forward to.

Today at 4:02 P.M the Nonadian Government celebrated that 4 billion people officially were citizens of Nonadia. Citizens of major cities such as San Lata, Topago, and Arville weren't such big fans of this news. Nonadian citizens had always noticed the declining GDP per capita and as the average income became noticeably alot worse in the biggest cities. Nonadia used to be praised, but now, it was developing completely backwards. Nonadia was falling into a third world nation despite it being technologically advanced.

Military spending didn't help this. For years money was being poured into the military while the nation got poorer. And with the recent expansion of the Third Imperial Navy, it could get worse. Capitalism slightly helped the economy, but not the extent the government wanted it too. To add on to this, the Government continued to ignore the signs that Nonadia was heading towards a third world nation. And now the nation was going head first into the crisis.

Crowding people in certain areas such as major cities wasn't helping, but the Government also knew the affect it would have on major cities if they encouraged citizens to move out. The Nonadian Congress was stuck in a dilemma and there was no way to get out of it. With two options;

Either jeopardize the future of major cities by encouraging citizens to move out.

Or continue to kick the can down the road and expand major cities, the easy way out.

But congress also knew that kicking the can down the road would only force them to wait for the problem to come again. And so, after a long session in the Senate and a close vote of 254 - 246, the Nonadian government chose to kick the can down the road and wait for the problem to come back to them, so that way they have time to think about the best solution. Major backlash came from the public on this decision, and around 500,000 people came to the city of San Lata to protest the decision which lasted a few hours.

With backlash, Congress held a popular vote, something never seen in decades. It came back that 61%, mostly people in suburbs, were not a fan of the decision. And so now the Senate had to withdraw the decision and was stuck back in the dilemma. The Senate had no more ideas and was now stuck. With the future of Nonadia on the line, they had to do something.

However, without the lack of a goddess that originally supported the Shinist Archians, many have abandoned the religion and have moved to Machinism. Machinism, has already begun to spread influence into Eastern Arcchron. Mostly on coasts and inner cities. Christianity has begun o push back with the evangelical movements and evidence of speaking in tongues, which has driven many Archians away from Machinism. From this event, Many Machinist Archians have begun to flee to Artaecus, Woleve Atraland, and Schwypia

With the Mother Rosette bound for the ocean floor, the Kuni would simply leave the remaining Alingarchi to their fates, unable to afford the time to either pick them off or rescue them. Instead, they turned and left, chugging ahead to rendezvous with the second fleet.

Proud as they were, the Kuni had seen the writing on the wall; they knew it was only a matter of time before Alingarchi reinforcements arrived and finished what the aircraft could not. Though Kuni ships may be waiting in the wings, there was no doubt in their minds that their fate would be the same as the others. They'd be bombed to oblivion. So, they retreated.

Hours later, they reached the other fleet, reuniting with the subs that had previously peeled off. Information was exchanged, a badly damaged submarine scuttled, and they returned to Antekuna, anticipating the enemy every step of the way.

But the enemy never came.

Though they had no way of knowing, a great calamity had struck Alingarch. Across the vast and lifeless Akatama, in the far west of the great Akjanan continent, their neighbor had suffered a collapse as cataclysmic as it was sudden. In the chaos, through unknown means, Alingarchi forces en route to deal with the Kuni vanished. Their way to Antekuna lay clear, and some time later, they would reach home shores.

Aftermath

The Battle of Splinters was an engagement anticipated but unexpected. Two fleets, from two states; the Kuni Federation and Hwokān, had set out across the Akschoss Ocean with a mission in mind; to reinstate the Loyalist government as the sole rulers of Antenesia. In doing so, they would restore the islands to their rightful place as part of the nation and order of Antekuna. The reasoning for this was simple; the Kuni had never recognized the secession as legitimate, and the increasingly radical actions of the tiny republic threatened to unravel Kuni isolation and throw the future of Antekuna in jeopardy.

Suspecting, but not knowing, Antenesia would seek foreign military backing, the fleet of the Kuni Federation, which would have arrived in Antenesia days before the Hwokāni, hung back, letting their bitter rivals take the lead. Sure enough, the odd gambit played off when the Hwokāni came into contact with the Alingarchi, after which they were promptly massacred.

Understanding the sinking of the Federati fleet - numerically superior to their own - would leave Kuni shores undefended against Odrelan invasion, the Hwokāni made a remarkably out of character decision. Instead of letting their enemy cripple their own fleet, which would have evened the field navally in the ongoing Kuni Wars, they informed the Federati of their impending doom. Though no one knew it yet, this move of idealistic comradery would have profound and sweeping consequences.

For the time being though, the scourged Hwokāni subs and their Federati escort headed home. As they did, a dreadful thought plagued them. As unsightly as their fate upon their return was, Antekuna's may be darker. Proved to Antekuna - perhaps even Kalrania - was an inescapable fact; everything in Antekuna was now obsolete. The weapons, arms, tech, tactics, everything, it was done. Old, defunct, to be tossed aside. For the first time in their existence, a Kuni had branded into them the meaning of airpower, and without it, Antekuna would crumble at the faintest tap from the Odrelans.

But maybe not the subs.

As notable as the resounding failure of the ironclads was the astounding success of the submarines. Save some sinking to the mines, they had performed admirably in the battle, even sinking the Mother Rosette. From this point on, two principles would dominate Kuni military doctrine - aircraft and subs. Their offense, their defense, their grandest strategy and most laser-focused tactics, all of it would consider these lessens impaled into them by this oh-so-traumatic Battle of Splinters.

So, the Kuni lick their wounds, and again vanish from the Kalranian stage.

...If only for a moment.

RP: From a Distance | Archron empire

As they closed the gap and entered the cove, the Archians would hear the loud blare, from what sounded like a combination of a loud, strange, distorted horn. Aboard the carrier, a man would climb, waving a large red pennant at the incoming strangers.

The horn and pennant would fall into sink, with the man making a shoving motion towards the Archians as the horn let out a pointed blare. This would rhythmically continue. It seemed as if they were trying to signal something to the trespassers.

As they did this, a single dinghy would glide out from behind the carrier, an unmanned turret and a communications rig hooked up to it. Coming to a stop somewhere between the foreignors and themselves, the captain would pick up a wired communicator. No sooner would the Archians receive a signal, broadcast in heavily broken Kalran.

"Stohp, stohp tere. You ahr in Koonee waters, ahnt you terespahs. Stat yoor pohrpes."

It seems he wants to know their intentions, but it's very hard to tell given his accent.

Things would be far less of a headache for the aircraft. With the Kuni visibly lacking any anti-air defenses, they made no effort of doing anything to stop the planes.

In their search, they would find what looked to be a standard military/naval base. Troop barracks, a strange, large warehouse like structure, but nothing odd. The base was surrounded by a desert and xeric shrubland of increasing altitude, and long roads to seemingly nowhere could be seen to the east and west.

As for the cargo freighter, they would see a stream of unloading taking place, as primitive trucks and motor vehicles (1910s-20s era) would ferry away the goods to the previously scouted warehouse. Given the canvas covering of the backs, they could not see precisely what was being carted off.

The soldiers would be very concerned and confused. However, under Commander Helmuth Locke, they would pull to the shore, and prepare for a conversation

RP: Reopening The Fight

Things have been very uneasy between the Totalist Government and its bolstered military morale and the King's men. It's been very quiet on the northern front since the Blayredeshians shifted support towards the King. Union Hall was stressed out beyond belief. The ceasefire was set to expire in a matter of days and even with much of nation under Totalist control, victory was far from achieved. The factories hadn't stopped churning out supplies for the war effort. New tanks started to roll onto the fields and up onto the Middean railway to be deployed in Onor. The 1st and 2nd armies, consisting of 200,000 men, 120 tanks each, and limited air support from locally sourced King Ravens from the Landown runway. The fight was set to begin again with renewed fervor.

The King's men, a single army grouping of 52,000 soldiers and a rough handful of tanks, had been well dug in along the road with more than a dozen murder pockets along the route towards York. In the dead of night, mines were set on the flanks. Pillboxes and bunkers were hastily erected along roads and narrow forested corridors that could be used as entrances. They could sit, wait, and fire. They were not moving from that spot.

Back down south, recruitment campaigns were the only advertisement that anyone heard anymore. "Fight for your country, for your brothers and sisters, for your freedom." The loudspeakers echoed and roared with the demand to stand and fight. It was tiring but many people headed the call. Former Syndicalists, some being very reluctant, joined out of fear of what a monarchy might do, or rather, what the propaganda told them it might do. During the ceasefire, a rough year of military silence, over a million men alone had been recruited to the fight. With another million in training. Stockpiles were liquidated entirely forcing the new recruits to rely on the factories to churn out guns faster than they could be deployed. If only it were that easy...

Then the ceasefire expired...

Word was quick to travel through the chain of command. The first noise was that of a 150mm Howitzer. Launched from the side of the Totalists, the first barrage of destruction began. The frontline opened up with retaliatory artillery and MG fire. 72 Empire tanks under Tanca (Tank) leader Victor Naeda, supported by 15 Scorpion tanks, pushed down the center lane along the main highway that stretched from Onor to York. The mad dash across the forested highway was supported with several divisions of 2 and 3 thousand men covering the flanks and filling the gaps between the tanks. The spearhead was formed.

The sky above became cluttered in air support. 3 air wings, 5th, 12th, and 22nd, consisting of 48 FC-45s, 20 King Raven Gunships, and 12 Venom Patrol Craft.

The fifth army, consisting of many new recruits had been shipped north by the Middean railway. The army group was almost entirely infantry, consisting of 500,000 reinforcements, a handful of towed artillery, and AT-support that were set to march through the plains from Jacobin to Milford and from there, push into York from the other entrance road.

The sixth army was the other half million soldiers who became the "watch dog" army. Stationed in the cities closest to the Sea of Trendaline and the Bay of Pontricare, these men were spread out and dug into the cities and along the cliffs, bluffs, and anything that could be used as defensive cover. The navy was not expected to succeed but rather serve as a distraction and a delay while the boys on land created an impassible barrier...

The meeting between Empress Emily of Kiamai and Apex of Archron has concluded. What can only be described as a success, trade was agreed on and joint military exercises are to be conducted. The option of the foreign exchange student program is still waiting for Archron to accept or decline, despite that, it is definitely another step in the right direction.

While the ball game finishes in the Kowenian Islands between Icewindia and Artaecus, the military forces are able to focus back on the environment around them. The Icewindian invasion of part of the islands has not only stressed out the Kowenians living there, but has also continued to see a drastic economic downfall on the Icewindian side of the islands. With many local businesses either moving to the Artaecusian side of the islands or to the mainland Kowenian states, the Icewindian side of the islands is plunging into a recession as the number of jobs decrease and the lack of trade flowing through the nation. The Kowenian Islands, while not having major industries themselves, saw most of their economy as being a staging area for traveling ships from Kowen to the rest of Kalrania. Although now most ships hug the Cervenian coastline to avoid going close to the Icewindians, as a statement from a local Kowenian fishing business that moved to North kowen to avoid the Icewindian takeover put it: “Icewindia is far too unstable of a nation and there are currently no promises if they are going to allow trade to continue or make trade impossible for the region. Heir aggressive military action wants us to take no chances in losing either our product, or more importantly, our employees.”

Many of the islanders on the Icewindian side of the islands are protesting the presence of Icewindian troops and some are demanding that Icewindia has a partial withdraw and to make promises in order to calm down fleeing businesses and have an attempt to draw businesses back to the region.
