Navy to decommission 13 submarines
The Chinese Navy has announced that it will be decommissioning and selling 13 of its older, antiquated submarines.
These vessels include:
3 Delta III class submarines,
5 Oscar class submarines, and
5 Akula class submarines.
These submarines are woefully outdated for the Navy's modern blue water doctrine, and will be replaced by 13 Yuan class submarines.
The unit prices of said subs will be disclosed to any potential buyers.
The chancellor returned the handshake, “ please” he says, gesturing to the opened door of the Maybach stretched limousine. Inside was a grand, Italian leather interior and a cup holder with four crystal glasses of French Champagne. “The drive should be about fifteen minutes Herr Führer, please, help yourself to some champagne in the meantime.” Says the chancellor as the limo pulled away.

Noel Boundaut's Resignation
Noel Boundaut, clearly seeing his collapse in popularity, due to several scandals regarding taxes, bribery and allegations of taking (legal but still frowned upon) methamphetamine, he has sent his resignation to the President, leaving open ground for Jerome Thurmond or Marie Claude-Massiere, a strong orator and rated France's woman of the year, to take the seat. This will be a hard battle, to be decided in the 2019 election...

The First Debate of the 2019 Election
Moderator: "Our participants for today are...Pierre de Lumark, of the Socialist Party, Jacob Jean-Pierre, of the Liberal Party, Jerome Thurmond, of the Liberation Front, and of course, the President himself, Mr. Courvon."
Moderator: "This is an open debate and there will be pre-submitted questions that will be asked throughout this debate. The first question is: Do the candidates believe that the President has too much power?"
Thurmond: "Of course not. It could even be said he has too little; the President needs to be an active actor in the affairs of state, not just rubber stamping whatever Congress wants. I am here to fight for the people and for the Republic-"
Courvon: "Hold on a second there, Thurmond, do you not remember the syndicalist tradition of this Republic? The Republic is one where the people rule, not some tinfoiled despot like you. You know what, they are right! I pledge that, upon re-election, I will decrease the powers of the President and of Congress, increasing the powers of local governm-"
Thurmond: "You mean the corrupt bureaucrats of the towns, like the ones of Brittany and Occitania? I'd trust the mafia more to rule those towns than themselves or you! The Mayor of Brest was recently arrested for funnelling money to the violent Breton Liberation Front! You are a weak leader, and I am here to make France great aga-"
De Lumark: "Stop this shouting immediately. We've had enough of whiny children like Courvon and entitled bastards like Thurmond run this country. It's time for a new path, one of maturity and sensible leadership, not reckless joyriding like Courvon or Thurmond."
Moderator: "Very heated already. Mr. Jean-Pierre, would you like to add anything?"
Jean-Pierre: "These people are offering promises to cover up the current problems of France: crime, immigration and a lack of housing. We must save France from the deadly communist plague, and let liberalism rise-"
Courvon: "You are a liar, Jean-Pierre. Crime is going down, there is no lack of housing and immigration isn't a problem, it's an opportunity. We've had enough of your capitalist pandering in France. The failure of liberal scams like you is why the Liberation Front is rising."
Thurmond: "It is because the people are waking up to-"
Courvon: "All you can offer is rhetoric and a pardon to yourself. By the end of your term, there'll be two things you dodged: tax payments and your responsibilities."
De Lumark: "The French people don't want Courvon; they want a civilised man like myself. Courvon is a traitor to France and a complete and utter loudmouth. He should shut up for once."
Courvon: "I've served the country and the people. What have you served? A fresh pot of lies?"
Jean-Pierre: "He has a point, you know."
Thurmond: "That's enough blabbering from career politician, homosexual and silent but deadly. France wants actual people who work for the common good."
Courvon: "Aren't you descended from noblemen and have been arrested for tax fraud and evasion along with aggravated assault, along with owning tens of thousands in foreign assets, plus being a demagogue and a psychopath?"
Moderator: "We have run out of time for this segment. Any closing statements?"
Courvon: "We've won 19 other times, let's push for a 20th term!"
Thurmond: "Vive la France!"
De Lumark: "Civilisation. Sensible Leadership. Controlled and Calm Leaders."
Jean-Pierre: "Free the markets, free the people!"
Moderator: "Thank you, we will be taking a short break."
(As you can clearly see, French politics is like a massive roastfest now)
Operation Varsity a success, Borealis capitulates
After a week of blitzkrieg-type fighting on the part of the Avalonian invasion force, and the resultant captures of Whitehorse, Yukon and Yellowknife, NWT, operation varsity has ended in success. After the swift capturing of the aforementioned cities and the total destruction of Sermersooq a month prior, Borealis Colonel-General Semyon Ulyanov, commanding the American continental army has finally agreed to sign the treaty of unconditional surrender of all Borealis forces on the American continent. The treaty will be signed today at 6PM local time in Yellowknife and will legitimise Avalon's annexation of Alaska, Yukon, NWT and Nunavut (Cartographer, thats your cue).
Communist Party rule ends in former Borealis
today, democratic elections were held for the areas that were formerly encompassed by Northern Borealis; With the communist party banned under Avalonian occupation, the Liberal Democratic Party headed by Kim Kielsen won by a 68% majority, followed by the Borealis Progressive Party, which gained 28% of the votes.
Southeastern Americana and Maktoum-hotak
It is with great sorrow that our comrades in arms have fallen to the capitalist scourge, and with the outlaw of the Worker’s Party, we would encourage communist party members from the former Borealis state who are still loyal to the cause to defect to New Leninland. We would offer a stern warning to Avalon and her leaders to cease aggression as there seems to be gross mismanagement of the situation. Thus far, no actions have been taken against the Canadian state but the Worker’s Party of New Leninland will keep an eye on the situation as it continues to unfold.
We would also like to invite Leninland to the conference at Paris, regarding the space race and all that.

Operation Prologue Begins
The First Confederate Boots have touched down in Avalonian Occupied Quebec. Confederate Forces began arriving in Quebec at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. The purpose of their mission in Quebec will be to set up relief camps and Stations around Montreal, Quebec City, and the surrounding regions. They will tasked with providing basic necessities to those that lost everything in the horrific war that has been fought in the region.
Confederate Armed Forces Engineers and Electricians are also being deployed to aid in the rebuilding of necessary infrastructure, restoring water, electricity, bridges, and roads to the cities, towns, and communities of Western Quebec.
It is the hope of Major General, Brandon Washington Commander of Confederate Force Quebec, that Confederate Forces can aid in the restoration of important infrastructure, and to aid the Quebec Provisional Government in the restoration of order and stability. Confederate Forces will remain in the region so long as Avalonian and Quebecois officials request their presence. No longer and no less.

The 'Make in Indulain' movement
After the recent attempt at the Prime Minister's life, security for each and every Minister of Parliament has been needed up.
"If I cower in because a person desires to kill me, then I don't make a very good Prime Minister do I?" Mr. Armand said today on the way to the Parliament.
The bill that has been proposed intends to make India a strong exporter than importer in the area of defence equipment. The 'Make In Indulain' movement was first proposed in the mid 2000s and was implemented, but not to much success. The new bill proposes to let the DRDO handle 90% of all army contracts for a period of 1 year. They will be responsible for ammunition, parts and the development of further equipment. A major hurdle has always been the procurement of arms and parts which often have to be imported at extravagant prices.
INS Vikrant sets sail
On Thursday, INS Vikrant, Indulain's latest aircraft carrier, officially entered service. It is tasked for command under the Eastern Squadron and protecting the Bay of Bengal and Southern Indian Ocean. It is the first nuclear powered aircraft carrier.
'It's an example of what we can achieve, especially with the recent bill that has been proposed by the UPF." said the chief of DRDO in an interview yesterday. It is said to be a state of the art aircraft carrier which fulfills the early-land-air-naval-detection (ELAND) requirement. It has a variant of the Israeli radar but with improved range and stealth detection. Indulain's shipyards celebrate this occasion and look forward to the construction of INS Vishal, a 60k ton Supercarrier that will lead the naval fleet and complete the three pronged defence of Indulains waters. It said to complete construction by 2030.
After careful consideration the Kingdom of Hungary would like to purchase the 3 Delta III class submarines as well as the 5 Oscar class submarines.
The Board of War has concluded that the total cost of of the 8 submarines to be at 1.5 billion USD.
Once the money is transferred, the Board invites 8 training crews from Hungary to go to Hong Kong, where they will be provided with first hand training on how to operate and maintain the vessels.
The Führer spent the duration of the car ride speaking with his minister of international affairs, discussing potential benefits they see towards opening relations with the Avalonian government.
Protests Break Out on the Steps of the Capitol
Protesters from across the city of Columbia have gathered at the steps of the Capitol Building. The Protest appears to be peaceful, with protesters carrying only homemade signs, the flag of the Confederacy, and the flag of Columbia. The rally cry of the protest that our pundits on the ground have reported is "No Taxation Without Representation", interviews with many protesters has indicated this is a Statehood Protest, with citizens of the Federal District of Columbia demanding the Congress take action, and admit Columbia as a State in the Confederacy.
Leading the protest is Mayor of Columbia Samuel Richardson. "We are here today calling on Congress to acknowledge our concerns and appropriately address them. Earlier this year on behalf of the people of Columbia, I submitted out petition to Congress for statehood, that petition contained over 100,000 signatures, and the official results of our referendum on Statehood from earlier this year, and yet we have not heard back." Said Richardson "It is our intent to continue protesting Congress until appropriate action has been taken."
We have received word from the White House, President Reichart has expressed her support for Columbia's request for Statehood, however she also expressed her support for Congress, and trusts they will address the concerns of Columbian's as soon as they can.
...5...4...3...2... *The crowd bursts into celebration* The fireworks show begins and a popular singer in the country begins his debut. HAPPY NEW YEAR!
People cheered as fireworks burst to celebrate the new year in the nation. This year has been a good one in the nation. The economy was doing well and the country was forming alliances with the rest of the world. The national anthem played as the fireworks continued to burst.
Elsewhere in the country, the youth camp on Utøya was having their own celebrations. The island security guard received a call over his two way.
"There is a man who wishes to cross to the island. He has police officer patches and is armed. He has not revealed his name nor his rank."
The security guard radioed the captain of the ferry
"Ready your boat, there's a policeman who wishes to cross"
*Back in Oslo*
The truck driver parked in front of the square where the New Year's celebrations were occurring. He grabbed his book The Communist Manifesto. He was part of a cell of communists in the country. Their cell was being paid big bucks to carry this out by a contractor. All they had to do was blow up the square and go after the summer camp.
A few minutes later, a large explosion was heard just outside the square. At first people cheered as they thought it was fireworks until the injured began running from th blast site
The policeman stepped off the boat and was met by the camp director and another security guard. They asked about the weapons he was carrying and his credentials. As the one security guard was heading back to the camp site he heard what sounded like gunshots

The limousine, already well within the center of Anfang rounded a corner onto the grand Kolnstatt street, a beautiful, long street with poplar trees on either side and water features every few meters. At the end of the street stood the chancellory, akin to the American Whitehouse with a large marble dome on the roof. “Ah, here we are Herr Führer, the chancellory is just down the street.”
A few moments later, the Limousine was in front of the chancellory. An Ehrengarde officer dressed in all black paced up to the door and opened it, revealing the grand marble facade of the building, a warm, golden glow spilling out from the tall, narrow windows. “Welcome to the chancellory, please follow me” says the officer gesturing towards the gold studded mahogany door.
Bordered White Banner to be stationed at Chinese Concession at the Suez
The occupation zone at the Sinai Peninsula and the Suez Canal has been officially re-named as the Chinese Suez Sector. It, alongside with the cities of Dalian, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, are the only areas in China that are open to access by foreigners. As usual, the ban on inbound international travel still stands (Chinese passport-holders will need to get on government-chartered flights to return), and Longshen Emperor has recently stated that he would consider extending the naval blockade zone of China.
The Bordered White Banner, a 223,000+ soldier force, will be deployed to the Chinese Suez Sector (CSS) until further notice, to maintain security of the 2 naval bases in Taba and Suez. The Army was previously involved with the anti-insurgency operations in Dali, Tibet and Central Asia from 1956 to 2018.
The current naval vessels stationed in the CSS includes the 5th Naval Flotilla, and the 1st Submarine Battlegroup. Combined, they boast a force of 30 ships and 20 submarines.
The Board of Civil Affairs has also promised Chinese identities and passports for all residents, whether they are ethnically Chinese or not, who reside in the CSS. This allows them to work, travel freely, and study in China while receiving all of its welfare benefits.
It has been announced that a transition to civilian government is underway. Governor Abu al-Qasim will be the provincial ruler of the CSS. Local authorities will also be free from Chinese control, and life in the CSS will continue as normal; albeit under a different flag.
The leadership has agreed to respect the CSS' unhindered self-governance. However, it will be responsible for defence and other military aspects of the CSS. As of 2019, 1 regiment of Egyptian soldiers has been raised, and included to the 2nd Red Army of the Green Standard Armies. It is expected for full independence to be granted in the next 10-20 years. Even after independence, however, China will continue to maintain it's 2 military bases in Taba and the Suez, as a merchant marine escort force, or an anti-piracy force.
