They are given permission to enter the hangar of the Cerniv Frigate.

All The Stars In The Sky - NPC War Post 2

It was growing tired of the trivialities of war. It was nothing but like playing a game, simply calculations on a screen that it would forever watch and adjust. All of its harvesting operations were going according to plan for the time being, at least. Billions of souls saved from their own pitiful existence through a wicked combination of magic and fire. It was work fully scouring planets of resources, but it would be worth it in the end. After all, these resources would fuel its later endeavors.

Steps towards a goal, yes, but menial ones. It would still have to bridge the logistical issue of stealing the matter of a star. That was certainly one of its greatest design flaws, but it had billions of years to work with, so it was not worried. Particularly, it considered the merits of a phase gate of sorts. Something like a dyson sphere to be constructed around the star over time, where it could then harness the energy of the star to kill it.

It was a macabre weapon, when it thought about it. Forcing something to power the device that would be its demise. But it was not killing the star, no, it was giving it a chance to be reborn in a better universe. A bright, vibrant universe where its matter could serve new purposes and bring about new life. It would simply take time, and some condensing into the greatest void of all.

This weapon would require vast amounts of materials, though it had no such issues acquiring them in the systems it had conquered. It would merely take time to fully construct around the first star, and then to power up. After that, it would be very menial simply transporting the chunks of the machine to the next star or planet. Planets were an issue, but it could store energy for such occasions. It would simply take time, something it had quite a lot of. But every second wasted was more energy it could not recover. Patience was a virtue, though. To overstep would be to risk its plans.

It considered its plans, and how they functioned. In the end, would this not be what it itself was doing? Powering the weapon with which it would kill itself. Feeding its child, in a truly self-sacrificial manner akin to a spider. But it would become so much more, in the end. Truly a fitting end, for itself and any that wished to join it in its divine task. It doubted any species would, though. With their lifespans as they were, it simply wasn’t their concern. It would be eventually, however. It would simply keep coming back until it succeeded.

So it began to strip those dead planets which it held for parts, harvesting anything worthwhile and pushing that which remained through temporary jump-gates into which it fed material to its child, a growing hole in the night sky. Construction would take a while, yes, but it would be worth it in the end. So it began to work on its other problems, namely empowering itself. It had so many collected souls, yet it did not know how to use them. So it simply kept them on standby, until it could find someone who would allow it to bridge that gap, that it may borrow their essence to truly ascend to the hand of fate.

In the meantime, its plans were going well. It generally fought by adopting a solid line, waiting for the enemy to throw themselves at it, and then surging forwards to capture another swath of planets. And this enemy was ever so keen at throwing themselves into the fire for the sake of glory and pushing out the invader.

It was not the easiest work, for sure. It lost ships, and occasionally the line fractured in areas where the enemy truly put their force behind. But it held. It would keep renewing its forces, keep reinforcing its line, and keep advancing like the encroaching void.

It laughed, for in the end it was taking the strategies of that which it sought to destroy. An inevitable, unconquerable wall of force that could strip bare all that opposed it. It kept its guard up, though. It was trying to conquer the unconquerable, so it knew its foe just might. It would be ready if it did, though.

So it set to work setting up temporary fortifications in the systems it had conquered. It did not fight fair, as fair was something those with less pressing matters considered. It set up guns in deep space, cloaked from gravity. It littered null space with ship-killing mines. It put guns on nearly every surface it could for the time being, and scattered debris around its holdings that no ship could enter easily.

And it got to work on a new generation of tools with which it could impose its will. Weapons of war that it could fulfill its divine mandate and snuff out all the stars in the sky, one by one. It found it almost soothing to toy with the more fundamental aspects of the universe in creating weaponry. It gave it confidence that it could succeed, even without help. But most of all, it was confident that none could stop it.

Finally, it said a prayer. For all the lost and all that would be lost. For those it was forced to destroy in the search of a brighter future.

And it listened to the dull screaming of the void.

She goes about installing new motors, drive systems, power cores, the works. She spends hours getting the suits moving again and adding in a slot for the souls, making sure to remember which vial goes to which animatronic. She also puts up a couple job opening signs, saying to come to the park a couple days later if they wanted to apply for a job. With most of the parts replaced, eve puts in the soul vials and turns on the power feed, bringing the two animatronics back online.

Outside, a girl fresh out of college notices the flyers and, needing a job, decides to go visit the fake employer.

Immediately, Hangry and Penny burst out of their seats, filled with life.

"Boy oh boy, how long have we been gone for?", Hangry asked.

"Of course." Renate nodded and smiled. She understood his hesitation. You don't exactly tell a representative of a fleet nearly a thousand times more powerful than your own that the fleet isn't welcome. "This fleet, after all was here merely to scout for outposts, not conduct an invasion. I will order them to pull out towards the edge so as to not risk the sovereignty of your nation, as we have oft been accused of doing to others."

"The Imperium, contrary to popular belief, is not the warmongering, omniscient force our enemies would have the galaxy believe, Admiral. We do not wish to trigger a shooting war between your nation and our task force."

The only other nation we've met this far from our system was rather hostile, so forgive the rather extensive response." He spoke with a voice of authority and prowess despite the massive inequalities of power between the two fleets. "I am glad you have decided to not make the same mistake that they did. I would like to warn you that the edges of the Labyrinth can be dangerous, especially for ships unprepared for the journey. If need be, I can give you the location outside of our claimed territory where your ships can moor while I communicate with my superiors regarding further negotiations. In the meantime I suppose we have a truce no?"

"Indeed. Directions for a safe place to put our task force would be greatly appreciated, Admiral."

She believed she had the measure of him now. A man confident in himself and his fleet while not overly so, honourable, evidently experienced, and with a poker face that could crack armour plate, she was looking forward to facing him over the negotiation table.

"And your extensive response is forgiven. We would do much the same if we encountered a fleet as large as this within our space."

Hangry and Penny both request that Lucky's body be brought to life here in the physical world so he can control it, as they await the new recruit.

"Is this new recruit gonna be working with us or...will she be the first nightmare?"

But ultimately, if what this man was telling him true, then he had nothing to be concerned about. He did occasionally wonder while lying in his bed about his superiors and their reactions to his findings when he returns. Especially Dr. Bright...

Dr Bright...if he ever found out about this place, no doubt he would try to take control of it. He would make it a Foundation stronghold. Hmm...it's best to keep secrets at secrets sometimes....

-------------------------------------------------------

Later at night, Adler, and Adler only, had a dream, a dream he was not able to control. Although this dream did not seem to be a nightmare nor was it especially bright. Instead, it seemed all too real.

Adler stood in a bright forest, with tall trees that seemed to rise to...another ground. It seemed there was no sky in this world...instead, it seemed to be the green ground that Adler stood on. And a peculiar sight even further...it seems that Willow himself was on the other ground, standing upside down. Whispers soon echoed through the winds, most of them saying "Don't look up. Don't look at him"

However, they soon changed to whistles and merry tunes as well as hums. Suddenly, a cold burn fell over Adler as the whispers screamed, saying "He's looking at you.". Suddenly, Adler's head was tilting up forcibly, as a mysterious force pulled his head up. When it happened, there was a bright flash, with the whispers screaming a horrible sound...

It was then that the dream ended...

(Not sure how you want to move forward.)

Nodding, Kopkow complied, and headed for the medical bay. Maybe some pain relievers will help. Though, he couldn’t exactly cross out the probability that something may be broken.

"First nightmare what? I was just making a recruit. I figured a way to turn human into animatronic by modding my conversion tech a bit and setting some new construction flags. They should be here pretty..."

A bell rings in the front of the building, and eve goes to get her plan started. A muffled conversation is audible before the crack of a human being hit with a tire iron, the rising whirr of machinery, screaming, and eve laughing at the thing she'd just done.
Visible through the crack in the door is the person, a brown haired college age girl, slowly being consumed and transformed by a cloud of nanites while banging on the glass windows of the tube. Slowly but surely, human flesh was replaced with robot parts and a plastic layer above, copying the animatronic look. A screen flashes on, displaying some DOS-looking text.

"Lucky didn't tell us she can do that", Penny said.

Immediately a clap is heard as the monitor on the screen changes to a face depicting Lucky the rabbit, sitting in his chair, sipping a little coffee..
