She entered the bridge, standing tall as an authorized representative of the Empress. Her eyes were firm, although not harsh in their gaze as she looked at the general. "I am Tessa Hames, Empress's Spirit, personal representative of the Empress. I believe you wanted to see me?"

General Gustafsson was standing at the view port, across the room from the door. Most of his body was concealed by a long, dark red coat, with gold epaulets on his shoulders. Turning around, he reveals a greying beard, and a bionic eye in place of his organic left eye.

General Albin Gustafsson: "I did. Welcome to the Fist of Terra. I am Albin Gustafsson, General of the Imperial Army and Commander of the 88th Nordyc Raiders. I greet you in the name of the Emperor. I have called you here because of standing Imperial orders requiring the opening of diplomatic channels with any new contacts."

Until the typical soviet pallet and flare is easily observed, so that didn’t take too long. Still, despite the pre-conceived records, and possible odds of it being a trap...

“Asylum granted. Service vessel should be able to come over, and pick you and your scrap heap up. Welcome aboard.” And with that... A rather... Primitive-ish corvette is sent to meet up with it. Intending to pick Romanov, and if possible, the critical condition ship up.

the ship would be easy to pull, and would in fact require it. it did not have thrusters that stilled worked. in fact, it seemed like a heap of junk, even more so than the corvette would. still, they'd have no challange in picking it up and moving it. getting romaov out would be harder though, as it had no space connection, and would have to be landed before he could leave.

Different voice, but the same sentiment, now form the ship’s channels... “Right, Romanov, seems we’re going to have to tow it in. You got enough systems intact to survive entry reasonably well?”

“Alright, we’re trusting your judgment Romanov, if something goes wrong, it is what it is. Not really a expert on your ships’ design.” And with that... It begins. Towing the ship into orbit, and down to the ground, being careful not completely mess up and be rough with it.

She assessed him in a few seconds with a quick glance. Obviously a veteran, he looked like the sort of officer that didn't take no for an answer and approached any problem with a mind to simply punching through it. The Imperium being made up primarily of the other kind of officer, the soft-spoken ones that carried large sticks, she was understandably curious to see this example of an officer the Empress had long bemoaned her lack of.

In return, he saw a young woman, of maybe eighteen or nineteen Earth years, wearing the long grey and gold mage's robes of an Empress's Spirit, with a dark circlet upon her raven hair and a firm gaze that seemed to see through him.

She bowed slightly. "General, the Imperium and the Empress are always willing to open diplomacies with any we encounter. It is why I was sent to this station, to talk with you."

General Gustafsson:"Fascinating. It is truly fascinating to discover that another fragment of mankind, one so far from Terra, has formed an Imperium of its own. If only our navigators could locate the Astronomican, then I would be able to put you into contact with the War Council or the Emperor. But, that is not possible at the moment. Tell me, would your Imperium be open to forming an alliance with the Imperium of Man? We humans must stick together in this unforgiving galaxy we find ourselves in."

Hames's face seemed to grow ever so slightly more guarded as she spoke. "The Imperium would be willing to open negotiations towards an alliance. However, our trust and alliance is not given lightly. Not everyone who requests an alliance is granted one."

General Gustafsson:"I would expect nothing less from a remnant of humanity. Once contact can be reestablished with Terra, I will inform the War Council of the situation, and it is very likely that they will send an Imperial representative to conduct the negotiations."

    | The Deus Serpenti sent back an acknowledgement over tightbeam, stating that they could bring a limited escort.

The GAdm. Remus wasn't exactly optimistic about the situation. Should a slugfest come from this, Charybdis' reinforcements were around 30 minutes out from the coordinates, and even then it probably wasn't enough to exactly defeat a fleet like this. Moreso, he was concerned at how easily the ships were able to navigate The Labyrinth compared to the other visitors, who weren't lucky enough to be buried in the thick armor the unknown elements appeared to possess.

He sighed, looking around at the CIC of the Deus Serpenti. The God Snake....How funny that a ship named after such an important deity was dwarfed by some unknown vessels from the Beyond. He couldn't help but smirk a bit from the thought. He then turned to his Executive Officer, "I'll be in my quarters, notify me when their envoy is en route." The officer nodded, and Remus walked out of the CIC and across the catwalk to the elevator.

The Deus Serpenti then began accelerating towards the fleet, shortening the intercept time to around 22 minutes. The rest of the task force remained at their current pace, with their intercept time being around 1 hour, 30 minutes.

the ship would prove to be in even worse shape than it looked, and parts of it were ripped off. however, the core portion of it did, and was able to be landed, Romanov beginning the rather long process to open the entry path.

As the Deus Serpenti accelerated towards the task group, a battleship thumped into space near the group as it finished warping.
Unlike the others that bore the shattered star sigil of the Imperium Navy, this battleship's star housed a golden crown sigil, the symbol of the Empress' Spirits.

Renate nodded as she read the report hurriedly tightbeamed to her by the task group commander. "Well, this should be interesting. They're as eager to open negotiations as we are."
She looked sideways to the battleship's captain. "Take us as close as you can, Captain. We'll take a shuttle the rest of the way."
"Yes, Sir."

The new battleship slowly edged closer to the utterly dwarfed Deus Serpenti, stopped a few kilometers from it. A shuttle exited one of its hangar bays, and headed towards the Communal ship.

Allow me to introduce myself.
Venator, also known as Ven, Vena, Artand, Middle Predor, the Teutonic League, Avroc, and many, many other names, and a veteran of NS for about, oh, 6-7 years now.
If you're gonna pull the "I'm older" card, learn who the other people in the room are.

Separated stars wrote:"I'm afraid i don't know what you mean by a psyker. Could you possibly enlighten me?"

General Gustafsson:"A psyker is a being with the ability to tap into the powers of the warp in order to manipulate reality. The Emperor of Mankind is himself a psyker, perhaps the most powerful one ever born. By your asking, I am led to assume that you do not possess any psykers."
