I don’t believe it was meant like that, but nevertheless it is a similar result, and it’s an obvious implication to be addressed.
It’s just that in all my times on NS I’ve never seen someone say that, and if they do, they’re usually a lot more subtle.
Given the whole “Focus on your candidacy” thing, I’m fairly certain it was a misunderstanding where they assumed I was a candidate attacking their position to improve my own - which I wasn’t doing and wouldn’t ever do, btw - but the way it ended up was an unintentional plea to undermine the democratic process. That’s probably the most likely reason for it, but there could be a different, reasonable explanation. Or it’s possible that there is no reasonable explanation and it actually is what it sounds like. But I’m not in a position to assume their intentions with it. No one is, really.
Yeah, thank you. I think the experience and confidence that I have is important, simply because some people don’t have both those traits and a willingness to deliver blunt, potentially harsh, critique. Apart from the extra accountability, which is also nice, it shows how they perform in pressured situation, how they can adapt, how they can handle criticism, and how much experience they have that they may answer wide arrays of questions. Even if it wasn’t me, I’d definitely want someone to be doing something similar.
I've dealt with nations/citizens like you. You're not being simple and just ask questions about another campaign or discussing it. I believe it's nations like you that make it difficult for leading nations to effectively run. You find an issue in every little thing. Debating is different and I welcome all nations who want to talk and debate. But what you didn't post was the nasty telegram you sent me. That I didn't report to the moderators or to the administration of this region. Before you call what I said Counterproductive or Not needed for our democracy make sure to lay out and explain the entire story.
With that being said, I will be calling it to the administrators of this region to dismiss Castenor as a regional member of the Free Nations Region because it is nations like you who are counterproductive and are not needed for democracy of our region.
You want to ban me for speaking my mind in a democracy? You want to punish me for finding issues in your campaign? How is this a democracy, then? I am not making it difficult for you to run unless you are choosing to not step up to the plate and do what you should do as a public figure in FNR.
That aside, attempting to blackmail me with a telegram I didn’t write is not going to slide.
Would it be so hard to post a gotterdam screenshot of these telegrams? That way we can decide who is in the right or wrong for sure, since apparently people’re feeling uppity.
Well, in that case, presuming Castenor is being truthful, the burden of proof lies with Santo andreo.
Santo, would you kindly show a screen shot of this supposed nasty telegram? I just want to confirm no one is lying or the sorts. Not that I am necessary accusing you, of course, I just want to get both sides of this apparent debacle.
1.. First of all, instead of asking “How”, for once I’m asking “Why”. Specifically, why are you running? Why now? Why explicitly choose not to run for a second presidential term and then come back for a second term instead with another in between you? Doesn’t it mean that all your momentum from the previous term is gone? Does it mean that we will get a performance from you as a President that is less than what it could have been? Why?
2.. You mention “long term success and prosperity”. Building off of that, what is your vision for FNR when you leave office, and how will your policies/promises help manifest this vision?
3.. You mention legislative standardizations. I also remember that you focused on legislation in the first election I bullied you in. Why so much focus on legislation as an elected executive leader? Couldn’t you do all that as a private citizen, whether or not you were elected to office? What does it have to do with your candidacy?
4.. You say that things often seem scattered or out of date. Do you think this is an oversight by the last President? What do you find wrong with how they handled it?
5.. “Posts about job opportunities are often random and easily missed.”
What do you mean by random?
6.. Regarding jobs and opportunities, you mentioned a biweekly telegram. What kind of telegrams would your administration send apart from these? How frequent will regional tgs be in general? Why? Do you think we should try to send more or less?
7.. What makes you think that this system for dispatches will actually work, since so many have failed?
8.. Regarding the WA program, why pursue the Presidency for this, as opposed to the Delegacy?
9.. Idk about the whole mandating the Delegate to author resolutions. This is not something that should be strictly regulated by government in my opinion (overbearing and could suck the fun out of it if it’s mandatory), and apart from that I think it’s an unrealistic standard. Few people author resolutions. Making it a job description doesn’t sit right with me. Something I proposed in TEP, however, is a system for the WA Ministry (here it would be the Delegate and Vice Delegate) to offer assistance and act as a crutch for any citizen who wants to write resolutions but is unsure of what to do or looking for help.
10.. How would regionally authored resolutions work? How do we stop it from being an administrative nightmare? How do we do the whole co-author business? Who gets the shiny badge?
11.. What’s wrong with our current endotart program? Is our tech guy open to such an overhaul?
12.. You lay out a pretty clear FA plan. What does this mean for the Minister? What sort of freedom will you give them to adapt this or do their own thing?
13.. You have a significant list of “qualifications”. To me, titles and length of time holding those titles are just words and numbers. What have you learned from these positions? What have you done in these positions? How will you ensure how some of them do not interfere with the time and effort you devote to the Presidency?
14.. What will your administration look like? What Ministries will you have? What appointed positions will you have?
15.. Your first campaign talked a helluva lot about transparency. How will you ensure transparency as our President once again?
Oh wait I forgot entirely to ask about the VP.
Heaveria and Tyuleniy:
The campaign barely mentions Tyuleniy as VP, and doesn’t talk about their role at all. What made you choose Tyuleniy and what role will they play in your administration? Like what duties, how will they function, that sorta thing.
First of all, idk if you really had to say you were against corruption. I challenge you to find any political party in a democratic system that goes “Yeah corruption is good I like corruption” so kinda redundant there but I like the spirit.
What I don’t like, historically, are political parties. So Imma question the party as a whole before I get to the campaign.
First of all, you throw around that reformist talk. What kind of reforms do you speak of? What are specific changes you are seeking to bring about? How will you bring them about? What’s the progress so far? How does organizing as a group assist in these, specifically? What does it mean for your Presidency; aka will these goals and reforms take up the majority of your attention as President/will you be mainly focused on doing all this?
Now, some general political party questions. How do we know that you won’t show - even unintended - bias towards members of your party? How will the party influence your policies and decisions? For example, if the party thinks doing X is good, will you automatically do X? Or will you make all your decisions independently of this affiliation? Finally, founding a political party is no “post dispatch recruit members bang we’re done” sorta thing. You will be devoting your time and effort to building this party, or you will be letting it die. What does this mean for your Presidency; aka how do we know that you will be devoted to the people and the government as an attentive leader rather than to the party’s development?
Your campaign will be analyzed shortly.
I cannot speak for Heaveria, but when he asked me to be his running mate he mentioned that he wanted to make a focal point of his campaign be ramping up government (a.k.a getting more/new nations involved in government). What better way to commit yourself to that goal than pick a running mate who could be considered "new blood."
As for my duties, I assume, if elected, they would be very similar to that of other VPs. Not only would I serve as an advisor to both the President and the Government, but Heaveria and I value a more pro-active relationship. One, where we can make decisions together as a team and both of our words can have just as much directive. As the president told me himself, "I value a Vice-President who is willing to speak against me and bring unique perspectives."
I think my involvement in Regional politics and in the RP have shown that I'm not only up to the task but that I will thrive in it.
Thanks for the question, and hopefully Heaveria will have more to say.

1.. You mention how you and Beer Boi are important in FNR. You make a list of positions and all that jazz. My question is: How has this prepared you for the Presidency? What has it taught you? How will positions that you will continue to hold (namely Cartographer) affect your performance as President?
2.. What are your plans for MoRP? Why not make it an appointed position so you as Cartographer can remain in control of how it’s run? Make sure it’s someone dedicated, prepared, and active?
3.. What’s with the Cultural rename? Works fine as Culture IMO. What are your plans for this Ministry? How will you employ new staffers?
4.. What are your plans for MoD? Do you have any plans specifically in mind for using the Military to grow closer to our allies? How will you recruit new soldiers?
5.. What are your plans for FA? How will you bring us closer to our allies? What kind of partnerships should we be focusing on? Will you be seeking to expand, decrease, or keep the number of embassies the same? Who do you see as our top three allies and how will you keep it that way? Do you wish to grow closer with our top allies mostly, or focus on everyone equally? How will foreign updates work? How will you employ new ambassadors?
6.. In my experience, Immigration ministries function a lot better when you’re not forcing them into new functions. Immigration and Internal Affairs aren’t that much alike. Pushing them together will give everyone more duties and complicate our system. This will make both sides of the Ministry less efficient, all in the name of making less Ministries. I get that you want to streamline things, but that doesn’t always mean merging or doing away with ministries, especially if they are important. No real question posed here, but if you could address my opinions as questioning, that would be great.
7.. I disagree with the reasoning behind the aforementioned merger. IA is not as cut and dry as “keep people here”. IA, for the most part afaik, runs the Newspaper, which we’ll get to in a second, but in my experience, Newspapers ALWAYS need dedicated Ministries for them. Attempts in TEP, at least, to merge it with a new function are always failures. Not to mention how different “Inform the people” is from “Recruit people to the region”. Again, this is more of an opinionated commentary to be addressed than hard questions.
8.. So MoRA is basically “Office of the VP”? Why does this need staffers? Will it have an elected position then? In which case, what if that’s not the VP? How will a Deputy Minister be chosen? Are they technically Vice Vice President? Why not just give its duties to the Vice President in general and avoid the complicated bureaucracy of it all? Isn’t this just “Chief of Staff duties” but with extra steps?
9.. You mention that MoRA is not needed, but you don’t mention why. Do you not think that such a position is beneficial to connecting the community to the government? Why not? Were there any specific performance issues that led to this decision? Don’t you think using the same name will confuse people? If you wanted to disband it why didn’t you just disband it? Why the complicated nonsense?
10.. To the newspaper. As I mentioned before, the newspaper is ALWAYS in need of its own Ministry. Shoving it off to culture with the excuse that “It entertains” is rather weak in my opinion. MoC already has a lot of important duties. How do we know that this won’t crash and burn the newspaper, bringing down our Cultural department with it? Tearing this away from MoIA turns MoIA into practically nothing as far as I am aware, which justifies merging it, I suppose, but I would just drop it entirely. Here, it seems like this will absolutely 100% overwhelm the Ministry of Culture, which is already lacking in staff.
11.. I just realized that MoIA also does dispatches. Apologies. Instead of editing my past points like a normal person, I will make this addendum: Still. Keep it separate. Dispatches, Newspaper, whatever. Information. Should stay together or be apart independently, like in TEP. It makes no sense for recruiters to also be given the massive task of maintaining and modernizing our dispatches. Like MoC with the newspaper, it just seems like this is setting the Ministry up to crash and burn under the pressure of so many responsibilities and duties with this number of staff and no clear program to employ more. All this might sound good on paper, that you’re simplifying the system and clearly defining a chunk of duties, but I’ve seen attempts like this in TEP, and idealized as they are, they always end with the Ministries buckling under the pressure. Only here, the Ministries cannot be reorganized in the middle of a term (afaik) which means it will be stuck like this for three months.
12.. You mention for like a second that you have Community Manager and Advisor positions. Does this mean that you are bringing back those appointed positions? If so, it addresses my point about MoRA being removed, but it also confuses things seeing as you said we don’t need it anymore. Also, what’s your reasoning behind bringing back Advisors? Do you have any people in mind for all those positions?
13.. “I promise I will revitalize FNR by ensuring the activity of the Ministers”
How?
14.. “have FNR Nations increase once again”
How? Especially since you’re distracting recruiters with a lot of new duties?
15.. What are your thoughts on transparency? How will you ensure it in your administration?
16.. I probably was a tad harsher than usual here (that’s saying something) but I want to repeat: No hard feelings. Both you and Heav are great folks with good heads on your shoulders. May the best candidate win.
Politics, what else?
Castenor, Tyuleniy, and Malevos
Thank you for your responses. I look forward to those of Heav.
Emaha and Tyuleniy
