In the same time, most notice the silent protest made by both Kianese immigrants and western sympathizing Sminishijans. It involved the images of Bloody February, fake blood and make up to display abused faces. Along with signs of Cyrillic and Natin alphabet denouncing Plajian influence, and calling for the state to end relations with the People's Commonwealth of Orientalis. Reactions are complex, but it would develop with time passing. Firstly, it gained attraction from the most western sympathizing Sminishijan citizens, and even managed to attract few groups of remaining Nörd-Germanic people. What started as a silent protest turned into loud marches of denunciation against Plajia and their influence in general, with many of western sympathizing people holding up signs. One of the candidates, Dijana Sandić, wholeheartedly supported the protests, and was seen going to the locations to join the marches.

Not a lot would agree with the protests. After a short amount of time of marches, demonstrations were shown against said protests. These demonstrations would be counter-protests made by the ethnic Plajians and moreover, eastern sympathizing Sminishijans. Flags of the Plajian minority, PCO and the national flag of Sminishija were woven. To many of the counter-protesters, the protests were seen as an attempt for westerners to get the country under their influence and submit to the global capitalist systems, evidenced by chants saying 'Смрт капитализму' (Death to Capitalism) and a sign saying 'Западни свет ће неславно завршити!' (The western world will end ingloriously!). Marches made by the western sympathizers would be stopped, and their paths blocked by eastern sympathizers. In a retaliatory act, few western sympathizers would steal some Plajian flags and tramp them on the ground, some going far to spit and burn them.

The police force watched carefully for any physical violence, the flags burning would be of very little concern for them as it is a traditional way of protest for them. The time came, a repetition of what happened before. The first act would be western sympathizers and five Kianese people throwing cans, dirty snowballs (it is freezing) and light rocks, which would trigger aggressive retaliation by the eastern sympathizers, the first being an ethnic Plajian throwing a punch in the face of an ethnic Kianese man. After said punch, the demonstrations from both sides would escalate into violence, both with natural strength (punches, kicks, etc) and nonconventional melee weapons they could find. Because it is a country of mandatory gun ownership and under the fear of a shootout breaking out, the police were dispatched to take care of the situation. Police officers with riot control gear would charge between the two groups and forcefully separate them, while engaging in a mission to arrest anyone who they saw participated in the violence, no matter which side. After clashes with the police, both sides of the demonstrators broke up, and by the orders of the police, went to go home.

Estimated numbers show more than nine thousand people, with more or less than four thousand five hundred in both sides. The aftermath of the demonstrations and violence was 254 with minor injuries, 56 severely injured and hospitalized, 41 arrested and no deaths. Despite everyone making it out alive, it was still a disastrous event, and one that could potentially divide the population even more and destabilize the country.
