Don't put the word human next to the name of any insect. It reminds me of what I wish not to be reminded of. He Who Shall Not Be Named has soured my mind.

Hajira watched her neighbor with some mix of surprise and awe at her speaking style. As he spoke, her eyes hardened slightly, and she stood, her silk dress and gauzy coverings billowing from the movement.
"I must thank everyone for attending this body, and my neighbor raises excellent points. Although we, the number one polluter in Valsora for many years due to endless war after, war, have much to learn, I would like to make a few points."
"I believe saying our world is dying is hyperbole. It is hurt certainly, but a vast number of extinctions are caused by competition from animals introduced overseas, not our cars. It should also be noted that our CO2 emissions have declined steadily. No poor nations exist on Valsora, which is as shocking as it is hopeful. What we need now, is not prevention but a cure. I believe Valsora can easily stop our emissions by a significant percentage, especially with proposed international rail transit. However, geoengineering solutions should be out goal now, not merely reducing how quickly we make the issue worse."
I SAID NO! YOU CARTON OF SPOILT MILK!
ouch
The only name I've plagiarized is my Great-Grandfather's.
Restoration of Eastern Kaiserreich
The suitcase thumped on each stair as the young woman dragged it down behind her, breaking the air with its noise. Noise was far from welcome in that house, as it seemed to remind Mother and Father they had a daughter. They didn't like to be reminded of that -- that was the best explanation Madison could come up with, watching the way they behaved. It was a miracle they even tolerated each other, miserably nasty as the pair of them was. Predictably, no one acknowledged the noise except with a loudly huffed complaint about millennials (passive-aggressive, definitely intended to be heard, but if Madison responded she would be the one eavesdropping and picking fights). No matter. They didn't know where she was moving to; this was the last day she'd have to hear their voices and care about their demands. She barely restrained herself from dancing upon hitting the sidewalk.
A place in Chasenville was the best she'd been able to afford on a stretched-thin student's budget, and no doubt it had been so affordable due to horrible surprises like rotting cats in the fridge and a total lack of heat, but it wasn't her parents' house. Madison kept a smile determinedly on her face as she unlocked the third-floor apartment and forced it open; the smile faltered when she smelled the mold, mildew and dust choking the place's air, but it came back out of spite. At least there was a window. She'd check the fridge later. For now . . . people-watching. People-watching at her own window in a place she had chosen to be.
The first thing Madison saw out the window was a spindly-legged child lurching its way home. The child's hands dragged on the ground and its belly wobbled with each awkward step -- the shoes certainly weren't helping with those steps, they were ridiculously big. Almost like clown shoes (bright red like clown shoes, too). The sight was oddly disconcerting, and Madison backed away from the window with a shiver.
Cross-legged on the floor eating dinner, she heard the next sign of life: slow, clomping steps out in the hall, accompanied by a rough dragging sound. The child? Heart in her throat, Madison crept to the door and cracked it open.
The potbellied, stick-legged child looking back at her was dressed all in ratty blue with nothing on its feet. Okay. Probably a cousin; Chasenville was a small neighbourhood and people didn't move out of it much. Madison waved awkwardly and moved to close the door, but she was interrupted the sound of the fridge coming open. That, and the ensuing clomp, clomp, clomp.
The two "children" -- deformed humanoid things -- lurched towards Madison in unison, the backs of their hands leaving black trails on the floor. She stumbled back against a wall, wanting to at least know another one wasn't coming up behind her, and swallowed hard. "Back off! I-I have a gun!"
They didn't stop. They didn't give any sign that they'd even heard.
Madison fumbled for her gun and found it dropping from her long, bendy fingers; it fell to the floor with black slime all over it. "No no no . . ." She bent to retrieve it, tripped over her huge clumsy feet, and crashed to the floor with a splat. The creatures had stopped advancing already; they had what they wanted. Another dragged down to their level, another without spirit or desire or even breath, another who would never want to leave them again. There was a reason no one moved away from Chasenville.

A Hunter sits cross-legged on a Chasenville rooftop, meticulously disassembling and cleaning lethal instruments. She has at least an hour before the black honey badger manages to drag itself here from across Louistan (specifically, from just outside Ferdinand Palace).
Black honey badger. The hunter snorts. Imislest monster names leave something to be desired.
***
An enormous, greasy-furred brown beast lumbers by the palace. Ten legs, a multitude of blind and cataracted eyes, and a gaping mouth it seems incapable of closing. At least there are no claws or teeth -- just a disgusting stench and a tendency to step on everything.
Slowly, repeatedly running into buildings, it approaches Chasenville.
Shavara: It's very rare for Brethren to emigrate elsewhere. These two did anyway (father and son) and now they're in line for government assistance because they can't afford food.
Nick runs in circles around his dad, who appears to have fallen asleep standing up.
"My friends, we are here to save ourselves. It is almost too late. Cooperation is the only way, and as long as demons walk the earth there will be only one way to ensure that cooperation. Global. Disarmament. It is time to focus on what matters. It is time to stop pretending war can accomplish anything, when a decade from now the disputed territories will be unlivable. I am not naive enough to ask that you abandon political massacres forever -- only long enough to ensure there will be something to fight over in our children's lifetimes. In short: prioritize."
Yes, comrade.
We have a soooooper seekrit communist alliance in the works that I hope to see you join :)
And seriously if you don't join it you'll probably get pummeled to death by the vicious capitalist demon-barbarians within 3 seconds of your grace period running out.

Ew no.
That isn't like any examples I gave, nor is it scp, next time read my post.

Minister Alvarez stands again, and speaks with venom in his voice. Valsora is 4.6 Billion years old. If we scale that to 46 years, we have only existed for 4 hours. Our industrial revolution began 1 minute ago. And, in that time, we have destroyed 50% of the world's forests. This is not sustainable. It must stop. The forests of the Cult of Cthulhu are burning, Antarritah is melting, the coral reefs are dying, marine life is choking on plastic. CO2 is rising. We are dangerously close to the tipping point. If the death of our world is a hyperbole to you, then perhaps you have not considered the facts.

Once those infront of her have spoken, Sara Treant slowly stands up.
In conclusion, the boosting of small business and public infrastructure, while moving to Nuclear and ARC energy is the way Terrabis has been moving forward. It may be an easier way to fix this problem for some nations over others, but as long as the people are truly happy, this plan can work out."
This is the modification I was speaking of. It turns out that if you modify facts to fit a different world, people understand better.
