I top kek'd at the newest post on the Hegiroth RMB.
If Lytchett wanted us to leave him alone, why did he send a diplomat spy?
There is so much wrong with that post I won't even bother anymore. Pathetic.

Left-wing bias
NationStates, along with most media right now is suffering from overwhelming left-wing bias. Libertarian views are called far-right because the left is so ridiculously off the scale. The World Assembly votes down every General Assembly proposal made by a non-left member. We all know this is true. Just look at the passed resolutions. The Assembly is looking to, by force, turn dissidents into their own by passing badly designed, lackluster proposals full of loopholes. The best example of this is Imperium Anglorum’s resolution #454, consisting of a single sentence. (page=WA_past_resolution/id=454/council=1)
Why was it even passed in the first place? Voting blocks, about which I will speak in another point. Another good example of this is Antifa, an IRL terrorist organization that focuses on striking people they deem as fascists, that is, people who disagree with them. What is funny is that some people consider them to be a positive force. Antifa is a far left anarcho-communist violent terror group, and their NS counterpart is not any better.

Elitism
The old-timers in the game have zero respect for newcomers and treat them as inferior. I have experienced this firsthand. Those individuals are founders, or are part of the government of major regions or region clusters. They know everyone and everyone knows them. This ties into the next point.

Voting blocks in the WA
Have you noticed that within the few first hours of a vote, the vote is often majorly tilted to one side? This is not because of the content of the proposal. People simply don't care about that. When voting, they follow the WA delegate of the region they reside in rather than judging the resolution on their own. Regions, on the other hand, form voting blocks. Voting blocks are coalitions of people that negotiate to vote for each other’s proposals to earn badges and commendations. Sometimes major voting blocks have different voting policies and they vote against each other. When that happens the votes look tied or only slightly tilted to one side. Resolutions are not written to improve anything. They are meant to be lazily manufactured en masse to farm badges or further push the WA to the left.

Abysmal forums (flamebaiting)
This is simple really. Newcomers to the forums that engage in conversations get baited by the troll to enter a discussion, their opponent refuses to acknowledge anything they say, the newbie gets angry and makes a mistake, then the troll files a moderator report. We know how this ends. There are other things too, but I would rather not talk about the forums anymore since they’re a cesspool.

People and their hunger for power
This is how coalitions and mergers happen. One power-hungry individual contacts another suggesting a merger, people move in, people burn out, region collapses, rinse and repeat. Most merger regions are incompatible that is why they often collapse. There are exceptions to this. Merger regions are a machine that converts members into energy, once they run out, they’re dead, so they have to keep moving and preying.

Vote farming
Most probably the biggest problem of the current implementation of the WA in Nationstates.
Newbies often join the bigger regions which results in them getting pulled in to the illusion of “a perfect region” which is just that - an illusion. The only thing they are good for is their vote in the Assembly. Those kinds of regions often have mandatory WA membership.

Rughzhenhaide, even if we don't always get along RP wise I have to say that this is a Excellent piece of writing. Where did you get all this information from?

We should just ignore them. When a dead region states that we're just "losing harder", it's time to leave.

Now that the embassy is finished, I can finally say how much I appreciate it being said. Although I have some differences in opinion, mainly on the left-wing bias part (I believe there is a left-wing bias, yes, but I think the WA and the general debates are separate issues), I still agree with most of it. I suggest you post it on the forums to get more attention.

I think if he plays down the left-wing bias a bit, maybe place it a bit down the list, it'll gain more support. Putting "left-wing bias" at the front might turn off a lot of people, even if the content itself underneath isn't so radical.

Ditto. But ultimately, that's Rugh's choice.

Actually, I had a dozen telegrams in the past two days about this dispatch. Both right and left of the spectrum. I would much rather keep it as is to be as honest as possible about my views. People that are hard-headed enough to not go through the "left-bias" bit probably wouldn't care about the rest.
Thank you very much for upvoting & promoting this. I appreciate it. May we bring about positive change.

His Most Supreme Excellency, Generalissimus Emmanuel Soto

Personal Information
Full name: Emmanuel Augustus Phillipe Soto
Born: March 20, 1922
Birthplace: Prosperta, Puetavisa
Political Party: Partido Popular Nacional de Puetavisa (lit. National People's Party of Puetavisa)
Spouse: Melissa Aguilar (assassinated 1948)
Children: Alejandro Gabriel "Gabby" Soto
Education: Highest level of education: Oxford University, UK
Profession: Actor, Political Figure, Former Grand Admiral of the Puetavistan Air Force, Chancellor of The Clover Confederation
Religion: Red Catholicism

Biography

Born in Prosperta, Puetavisa on March 20, 1922, Emmanuel Augustus Phillipe Soto is the second leader of the Sovereign Social Union of Puetavisa and Its' Territories, as well as Holy Pope of Red Catholicism, replacing his father, Hannibal Soto, the former Prime Minister of Puetavisa when it was a vassal of Spain. His mother, Janet Nevarez, was a star-studded American film actor. He is the also grandson of the late dictator Porfirio Diaz, who had ruled for over 40 years, with most of its' duration through martial law, and is also a distant cousin of Fidel and Raul Castro.

He lived a privileged life, and was conceived for the sole purpose of carrying on his father's legacy. From a young age, Emmanuel showed ruthless cunning and strategic superiority over his peers. He bullied children at his school, Puetavistan Academy of Excellence, not because he needed money, but because he grew bored with life. After he graduated school, Emmanuel did his mandatory service in the military, and climbed the ranks highly due to his great skill in combat. (and his father was the Generalissimus, after all!) As his mandatory service was lifted, he decided to stay in the Armed Forces to pursue the title of Grand Admiral which he made without his father's help. Following his acquisition of this title, he served under Zhenh Rugh I of Rughzhenhaide as an Advisor to the Emperor himself.

Years later, during the Puetavistan War of Cuban Acquisition, he met a young woman there who later had his child, Melissa Aguilar. Due to Ms. Aguilar being a citizen of an enemy-state, Emmanuel was not granted his father's blessing to marry her, yet they still had his son, Alejandro Gabriel Soto. Due to this unholy act, his father, Hannibal Soto, forced the young Emmanuel to either shoot his wife or shoot his bastard son. To say the least, his son is still alive. After reigning victorious over Cuba and gaining new territory, Emmanuel found a friend in King Francis XI of New Excalibus, seeing him as a shoulder to cry on after the passing of his soon-to-be wife.

On the 12th of March, 1959, his father Hannibal Soto died due to terminal lung and liver cancer, and his son assumed his titles. Overall, Emmanuel Soto is scarred by what he has endured during his harsh and troubled life, and rules his homeland with an ironfist and unrelenting attitude on pagans. He is responsible for the integration of State and Church, as well as constructing the Puetavistan-American border wall. Due to his father's untimely death, he was coronated by Zhenh Rugh I of Rughzhenhaide, a long time friend and advisor of his father, and now to Emmanuel himself.

On the 30th of March, 1960, an attempt was made on his life by a Lytchettian team who failed to kill him throughout their many attempts, but did shoot him in the shoulder with a 9mm. This was a turning point for his ideology as he became even more authoritarian by nationalizing industries in order to prepare for what she views as an inevitable war with the pagan nation of Lytchett. Although it is suspected, it is unclear if the team was under the control of the Hegirothian government.

Today his title is "His Most Supreme Excellency, Generalissimus Emmanuel Soto, By the Grace of God and the Red Catholic Church, Supreme President of Puetavisa And Its' Territories, Protector of the Caribbean Islands, Defender of the Faith, Holy Pope of Red Catholicism, Conqueror of the South, and Overlord of the Birds in the Air and the Fish in His Holy Oceans."
