Getting old already?
Well despite putting Miss State in the dog pound last night Jimbo is most likely be told to pack his bags by the Texas A&M Board of Regents. I made a prediction a few games ago that even if Jimbo made a bowl he probably would not be here next year it came true sort of.

Article is from March, but still interesting. I'll have to pay attention next time we have a Bird from off-base and pay attention to the paint scheme, or lack thereof

finally switched from Chrome to Firefox today. It was well deserved
That seems like a waste of perfectly good red tape and gray paint. There has to be something they are not telling us.
I honestly thought Jimmy was going to beat her to the finish line.
What are the pros and cons?
Other than a potential showdown in the Asia-Pacific region I'm not sure. It's supposed to make it harder to figure out what specific bases the airplanes are from. Their status as military tankers/cargo planes will still be quite clear.
I'd say Firefox is definitely better than Chrome, and I'd very much recommend making the switch soon.
I switched for two reasons. One, Chrome is a memory hog on your computer when open, so it makes everything run slower and more bogged down. This was starting to become a problem with the amount of things I do with my computer. The second reason was the Manifest V3 update coming up. That's a very technical topic, so I'll leave the most layman explanation I can find below this paragraph, but the general gist is that Manifest V3 is what Chromium based browsers/extensions will be running on starting in Mid 2024, and it is decently likely to make ad-blockers significantly less effective or straight up break due to establishing an API limit on the tools the ad blockers use to block the ads when you load in a page- I wanted to get ahead of that curve and switch to a non chromium based browser, especially since ad-blocking is so immensely valuable on today's internet.

Overall, I would say Firefox has a lot of positives- it definitely runs better and has more functionality (pop out video player, better customization, etc). The main downsides for me have been losing some extensions (Firefox has the common ones, but if you use anything obscure you may not be able to bring it over) and having to log into stuff again (not a problem because I transferred over passwords). Ultimately, it's a good decision IMO and one I would do again in a heartbeat.
Ok, I've been playing with Firefox this morning. The first problem I'm seeing is that YouTube is painfully slow to load. I'll keep tinkering and see if I can figure out what the hang up is.
I was reading about this issue ~5 minutes before I saw this message, so here's the article I read, maybe it'll help you in your tinkering.
https://9to5google.com/2023/11/20/youtube-firefox-slow-down-loading/
It appears, according to the article, that Google essentially added some "timeout" code to YouTube for those using Firefox. Some of the solutions mentioned in the article were to either spoof firefox as Google Chrome or to put a filter on that specific line of code so that it doesn't kick in when loading YouTube.
Holiday message from the Brass at the DHA thanks everyone for operating at the "speed of relevance." Interesting phrase I've not heard before. And despite all the emails I get, I'm technically not an employee of the DHA as I'm a contractor. We're not included in the list of new employees and don't get perks like early dismissal that the civilian employees get.

As a reminder, there is a Butterball hotline if you have turkey questions.
Finally got the chance to watch the newest "hit" show of sorts, The Amazing Digital Circus. Fascinating film. It is sort of horror but without the blood/death really and with a tiny amount of humor mixed in so it's definitely pretty tame I would say. All in all, would definitely recommend.
