"The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the Truth..." Great quote, not one I would pick for Happiest Moment. But that's the fun of these picks is seeing what others say. I might have to keep track and see if there's a pattern emerging.

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOUNDERS DAY

On this day in 1916, President Woodrow Wilson signed what is now called the Organic Act. It established the National Park Service. As part of the Department of Interior, the National Park Service protects 400 areas in each of the 50 states, U.S. territories and the District of Columbia totaling 84 million acres.

National Park Service Founders Day recognizes the superior conservation and preservation efforts of the National Parks System. Whether enjoying scenic trails, open spaces, watersheds or recreational areas, the National Parks Service provides a natural outdoor resource accessible to every American.

A Trip Through Time
Not only does the National Park Service provide access to millions of acres of the most picturesque places in the country, but it also takes us back in time. Through historic trails, we walk in the footsteps of Harriet Tubman as she led men and women away from slavery and to freedom along the Underground Railroad in Maryland. In Ohio, explore the infancy of aviation in the United States.

As we travel through the beauty of the historic Natchez Trace, we’ll discover the intense and tragic histories that lay along the way. From Native Americans to European settlement and the Civil War, the Natchez Trace survived it all.

West of the Mississippi, ancient ruins and resurrected forts tell the stories of those who have gone before us. In rustic settings or an out-of-the-way oasis in New Mexico, rediscover the history of untold ages. After the arid West, head North and study the Klondike Gold Rush in Washington or the history of Columbia River.

Majestic beasts and glorious sunsets throughout the National Park Service entice visitors all year long. Some of these parks are in your own backyard, a mere stone’s throw away. Once you get started, you won’t want to stop. Make a list and keep going.

HOW TO OBSERVE #NPSFoundersDay
Celebrate by visiting one of the 400 management areas across the country. While visiting, take a hike or learn about the history and culture of the region.

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOUNDERS DAY HISTORY
On August 25, 1916, President Wilson signed into law the Organic Act passed by Congress. It created the National Park Service which became a part of the Department of Interior. At the time, there were 35 management areas including national parks and monuments.

National Secondhand Wardrobe Day

How many times have you bought an item of clothing, only to wear it once or twice and throw it away after years of collecting dust in the back of the closet? Sadly, the answer is too many times. Thankfully, there’s a movement taking place in America that could help save us from our wasteful selves: National Secondhand Wardrobe Day on August 25. Buying clothes second hand and donating your used clothing creates a positive cycle that is crucial for cutting back our waste. Unfortunately, there’s a stigma surrounding secondhand clothing stores, or thrift shops, but it’s time to bring this to light and talk about why it’s so flawed. Secondhand shopping saves you money, has a positive impact on the environment, and if done correctly, can certainly lead to a closet of some cool new duds. So on August 25, head to your favorite thrift store and get some new (old) threads!

National Secondhand Wardrobe Day Activities

Convince a non-believer
Sometimes all it takes is one trip to the thrift store for someone to realize what they’ve been missing out on all their life. Try convincing a friend who’s never experienced secondhand wardrobe shopping, to tag along with you on a trip. Chances are, your friend will "convert" into a secondhand shop believer and start shopping there too!

Try a new style
Shopping for a secondhand wardrobe means you can peruse through styles that cross decades and trends. If you’re looking to break out of a fashion rut, hit the secondhand stores to find your "inner bohemian." If you find a piece of clothing you like, keep it. If, after a while you get tired of the piece, donate it again. Someone out there is bound to take it.

Clear out your closet
Secondhand stores run on donated clothing and one of the best ways to keep this cycle moving is to clear out your closet. Spend the day emptying drawers and hangers. Sort through those gift sweaters, event T-shirts, and fashion faux pas you never wear. What you don't want, haul over to the local thrift store. You’ll feel lighter and cleaner, and what was once your trash could be another person’s fashion treasure.

Why We Love National Secondhand Wardrobe Day

It’s like a treasure hunt
You never know exactly what you’ll find on any given trip to the thrift store and that’s part of the excitement! You may find that designer shirt for a fraction of the price at any retail store, or you could walk away empty-handed. The low cost also makes it easy to commit to a style you’d like to try out just for fun.

It’s great for children’s clothes
Shopping for children’s clothes at thrift stores is a no-brainer. Considering that kids will grow out of those shoes, pants, and shirts in eight months anyway, paying extra for the same clothes seems senseless. Bring your brood along and let them roam. They'll feel like they're on a treasure hunt!

It gives back to the community
Many thrift stores and secondhand clothing chains provide jobs and they are an integral part of the community. Goodwill, a non-profit, is one of the nation’s largest and most well-known secondhand store chains. The company employs nearly 69,000 people across the country. Your donation of goods or your purchase from a Goodwill store, helps pay the wages of all those employees.

NATIONAL KISS AND MAKE UP DAY

National Kiss and Make Up Day reminds us to end the quarrels, arguments, and fights. Instead, come to an agreement with anyone you’ve had a disagreement with on National Kiss and Make Up Day on August 25th.

Similar to the April 2nd National Reconciliation Day, THIS National Day gives us a chance to make amends. Each one of us has had a fight with a loved one at some point in our lives. Whether it is between you and a friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker after time has passed, do you remember the cause? Who was even at fault? Do you want the discord to go on any longer? That is probably the most important question of all.

Offering an apology, or simply just breaking the silence can be enough to begin the healing. Strive to compromise. Even in a no-win situation, if the relationship is worth preserving agreeing to disagree may be the only resolution. When we talk through issues calmly after a serious dispute, we often find both sides misunderstood the other person. Looking back, hopefully, we can find something to laugh about and repair the relationship.

Factoid: Kissing prompts your brain to release a happy elixir of feel-good chemicals like serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin. This isn’t only important for your happiness, it also may also help to strengthen your relationship.

HOW TO OBSERVE #KissAndMakeUpDay
Let’s find a way to resolve the differences and celebrate with a new start on Kiss and Make Up Day!

Favorite Federation Enemy: Romulans

I attended a Bernie Sanders rally in Louisville, Kentucky today. The crowd was large and energetic, and US Congressman John Yarmuth introduced Bernie. I was about five rows of people off to the left of the podium (my view of Bernie is the photo on my flag), and managed to sneak up close to the front by the end of the rally.

I shook hands with Bernie Sanders. His wife shook hands with me and said hi. It was amazing. Never going to forget this day.

National Women's Equality Day

The United States Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution granting women full and equal voting rights on this day in 1920. Every year on August 26, we commemorate this right with National Women’s Equality Day.

Birth of a Movement
While in London at the World Anti-Slavery Convention 1840, several women were denied access to the convention floor planting the seeds for a women’s rights movement. Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Staton, along with Martha Wright, Mary Ann McClintock, and Jane Hunt, set in motion plans for the first woman’s rights convention in Seneca Falls, New York. Held at Wesleyan Chapel on July 19-20, 1848, the conference drew 200 women the first day. On the second day, the convention opened to men, and some did attend.

Resolved, that it is the duty of the women of this country to secure to themselves their sacred right to the elective franchise. ~ 9th Resolution of the Seneca Falls Convention 1848

During the convention, leaders presented 12 resolutions. They enumerated in the rights that women should be equal to men socially, economically, legally and representatively. Of the resolutions, all but the 9th were approved unanimously. The right to vote created concern. Many women felt it would cause large numbers of their backers to withdraw their support. However, after much debate and the support of abolitionist Frederick Douglass, the 9th resolution also passed.

The Right to Vote
Woman’s suffrage began in earnest in the United States then. Another advocate, Susan B. Anthony, joined Stanton in 1869 to create the National Woman Suffrage Association (NWSA). Through nearly ten years of persistence and lobbying, the NWSA introduced an amendment in 1878. Despite years of debate and finally to the floor of Congress in 1886, only to be defeated. Ultimately, it would take another 34 years before a new amendment made it to Congress. Ultimately, it required the passing of batons. New states entered the union. Their constitutions included rights for women that states before them never had – rights to vote. Civil disobedience ensued. Eventually, with women gaining equality, Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution.

National Women's Equality Day History
On July 30, 1971, Rep. Bella Abzug (D-NY) presented a bill designating August 26th as Women’s Equality Day. That year, rallies, celebrations and political debate filled the country on August 26th. By 1973, Congress passed a joint resolution declaring the day to be observed on August 26th of each year. Every year since each president declares this day as Women’s Equality Day commemorating the certification of the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution.

National Dog Day

We love our dogs and they love us. For that, we’re eternally grateful. National Dog Day on August 26 honors this most loyal and adorable creature. After all, we have a long history together!

The dog’s evolution into “man’s best friend” goes back at least 14,000 years (and probably longer,) when they split from wolves to become more domesticated animals. Since then, the bond between people and dogs has transcended time and culture to become an integral part of humanity itself. We would have it no other way. One thing’s for sure — we’re so glad that people and pooches joined forces all those years ago. So today, gaze upon the cute dog videos flooding social media because it’s time to celebrate our best (and most loyal) friend!

National Dog Day Activities

Take your pup to a "Yappy Hour"
Several dog-friendly restaurants and bakeries host an occasional "yappy hour" — a time where you can enjoy a meal or some treats with your favorite people and pets.

Treat yourself to some quality puppy love
Hugs and kisses and snuggles, oh my! Give them a nice belly rub, squeeze them tight, and let them slobber all they want today. Dogs help reduce stress, anxiety, and depression — so puppy love is good for your health, too!

Host a dog party
Plan a gathering with a couple of your dog's favorite friends. It could be a big play date at your local dog beach or a party at the neighborhood dog park. Get creative. Include pet-friendly decorations, party favors, hats, and top it off with a dog-friendly dessert.

Why We Love National Dog Day

They lift our spirits
Dogs are natural mood elevators. There's also an overwhelming amount of research that shows they reduce stress levels. If you're burned out from a tough day at the office or just having a bad day overall, dogs are always there to greet you with joy when you get home.

They teach us valuable life lessons
Dogs remind us to stick to things we love. They let us know we shouldn't take life too seriously. They also don't jump into any commitments without first sniffing out the situation, but once they realize it's okay, they engage. Take notes because our dogs are definitely onto something.

They keep us socially connected
Whether you're taking them for a walk around the block or running into friends at the dog park, your dog's presence helps us develop friendships and social support. They make us more approachable, while encouraging us to mingle with other dogs and dog lovers. Who knew your dog would make the perfect wingman?

National Webmistress Day
National WebMistress Day recognizes women in web development on August 26.

A WebMistress is a woman who designs, develops, markets and maintains websites. The term has existed since the mid-1990s. The term officially entered technology’s lexicon in June of 1995. That month, Kat Valentine secured the domain name WebMistress.com. Taking the name a step further, Valentine then began web development under the job title WebMistress. Comparatively, the term WebMaster arrived on the scene as early as 1986, according to various classified ads.

Now, thousands of women work under the job title WebMistress. More than 20 years later, the word still raises eyebrows. However, WebMistress has a place not only on the résumé but is a legitimate job title in the business world. Take the time to acknowledge the women in web development to promote the job title in the business and lose the stigma associated with the word.

How to Observe #NationalWebmistressDay
Share your experiences in web design. While you’re at it, give a shout out to an outstanding WebMistress you know. Visit www.nationalwebmistressday.com for more information.

National Webmistress Day History
Kat Valentine founded National WebMistress Day in June of 2016 to promote women in web design. Additionally, the day celebrates the legitimacy of the job title.

The Registrar at National Day Calendar approved the day to be observed on August 26th annually.

Happy LBJ's Birthday Texas! For those unaware, today is a State Holiday in Texas. In case you need a refresher course on Lyndon Baines Johnson, LBJ served as the 36th President of the United States from 1963 to 1969 after his service as the 37th Vice President of the United States from 1961 to 1963. He is one of four Presidents - along with John Tyler, Andrew Johnson, and Richard Nixon - who served in all four elected Federal offices of the United States: Congressman, Senator, Vice President and President. He also has a bitchin' ranch that is a National Historical Park and is about 2.5 mi². It is located in Stonewall and protects the birthplace, home, ranch, and final resting place of LBJ. He would have been 111 today.

Favorite Character: Spock.

The most important words in the English language all have four letters. Home. Love. Food. Land. Peace. . .I know peace has five letters, but any damn fool knows it should have four.” - Lyndon B. Johnson

Lyndon Baines Johnson Day

Lyndon Baines Johnson's Birthday is a state holiday in Texas that is always observed on August 27th.

It commemorates the birthday of Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th President of the United States, on this day in 1908.

History Of Lyndon Baines Johnson Day
Lyndon Baines Johnson was born on August 27th 1908, in a farmhouse in Stonewall, Texas, not far from Johnson City, which his family had helped settle.

Johnson was a high school teacher before embarking on his political career. He won election to the House of Representatives in 1937.

In the 1960 presidential campaign, Lyndon B. Johnson was elected Vice President as John F. Kennedy's running mate.

On November 22nd 1963, following the assassination of Kennedy, Johnson was sworn in as the 36th United States President, promising to deliver on his vision to build "A Great Society" for the American people.

In 1964, Johnson won the Presidency with 61 percent of the vote and had the widest popular margin in American history - more than 15 million votes.

Johnson did not stand for re-election in 1968 as Sen. Eugene McCarthy declared his candidacy for the Democratic presidential nomination, an unprecedented move for a party that had a sitting president. Robert Kennedy threw his hat into the ring shortly afterwards, leading Johnson to make a television announcement that he would neither seek nor accept his party's nomination for the presidency.

Johnson died suddenly of a heart attack at his Texas ranch on January 22nd 1973.

After his death, the Texas State Legislature created a legal state holiday to be observed every year on August 27th to honor their state's native son.

The holiday is optional for state employees and state offices do not close, but are staffed by a "skeleton crew."

National Just Because Day

On August 27th National Just Because Day offers up an opportunity to do stuff…just because. Feel free to celebrate this day any way you choose. Just because!

Every day we all do things that are expected or required of us. Sometimes we even do things because we have to do them, we don’t know why. Well, on this occasion, that does not apply. This day is a chance to do something without rhyme or reason.

It could be that there is an outfit at the mall that you are admiring; buy it…just because.
Maybe you want to use a vacation day just to go fishing; do it…just because.
Perhaps you would like to pay the tab for the table next to you at your favorite restaurant; do it…just because.
Possibly you want to sing really loud while you’re in your car, by yourself, with your windows rolled down; do it…just because.
Surprise someone with flowers…just because!
Make something up…just because!
Or maybe, just maybe, do something just because Mom said so.

HOW TO OBSERVE #JustBecauseDay
Do something just because.

NATIONAL JUST BECAUSE DAY HISTORY
In the late 1950s, Joseph J. Goodwin of Los Gatos, California created Just Because Day. It began as a family holiday and grew into an annual celebration across the United States.

NATIONAL POWER RANGERS DAY

On August 28, It’s Morphin’ Time! National Power Rangers Day officially recognizes the original “teenagers with attitude” and celebrates all things Power Rangers!

In 1993, five ordinary teenagers exploded on the pop-culture scene with the launch of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Together they broke down barriers. They defeated evil by demonstrating teamwork, inclusivity, and diversity to people of all ages. Today, this grand tradition continues as new Ranger teams and new generations of fans discover these essential values over and over again.

On National Power Rangers Day everyone gets to be a Power Ranger! What are your Ranger skills and abilities? Do you have super strength or enhanced memory? Maybe your talent hasn’t been discovered yet. That’s ok! Nor does it matter where you live or who you are. With discipline, mindfulness, and heart, anyone can become a Power Ranger. Ultimately, the goal is calling your friends, color coordinating and celebrating National Power Rangers Day!

HOW TO OBSERVE #NationalPowerRangersDay

NATIONAL POWER RANGERS DAY HISTORY

Hasbro established National Power Rangers Day on August 28, 2018, to help celebrate the Power Rangers 25th anniversary!

Celebrating the Anniversary
Throughout its history, Power Rangers pioneered diversity, inclusivity, and teamwork exemplifying these values through every episode. When the show premiered in 1993, it featured a cast diverse beyond compare. Since then, the show has continued to lead the way proving that all are equal and anyone can be super. In fact, the recent 2017 feature film included one of the first Rangers/superheroes on the Autism spectrum!

Although it began as a children’s show, Power Rangers’ influence is multi-generational with nostalgia at an all-time high. Whether it’s kids discovering the SupeNinjaua Steel for the first time or adults who have been fans for decades, the brand’s positive messages and main characters resonate with people around the world because everyone can see themselves in these inspiring teenage heroes.

The Registrar at National Day Calendar proclaimed National Power Rangers Day to be observed annually on August 28.

About Power Rangers
One of the most recognizable franchises in the world with one of the most popular taglines in history, “It’s Morphin Time!” Haim Saban created Power Rangers. The TV series “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” (MMPR) launched on August 28, 1993. Power Rangers quickly became the #1 kids action brand and a global phenomenon. With its current 25th season, “Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel,” the show is now the second longest-running non-soap opera scripted program on American TV after “The Simpsons.” There are over 830+ episodes in its library. Currently, Power Rangers is seen in more than 150 markets around the world, translated into numerous languages, and a favorite on many indispensable children’s programming blocks around the world. Go Go Power Rangers on 8.28!

RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY

Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day on August 28th sets aside a day to remember the pet companions we’ve lost.

The death of a pet, whether furry, feathered, or an uncommon variety, is felt deeply. They become family and a familiar part of our lives. Mourning their death is different for everyone, and the observance provides a way to help heal the ache of loss.

The pain of loss is real. As each person travels through their grief, we remember the companionship and comfort they provided to us. Don’t forget that part of the relationship included care provided by you. The empty space left by the loss of a beloved pet is sometimes a difficult void to overcome.

Celebrate the home you provided and the joy your beloved pet brought you in return. When you are ready, you will know the time has arrived to find a new ‘critter’ to replace the emptiness felt. There are many animals yet to find a home. In time, you can be their new home.

HOW TO OBSERVE #RainbowBridgeRemembranceDay
Take time to enjoy memories of your pet. Look through pictures. Consider a visit to an animal shelter if you feel ready. Volunteering time may help the adjustment.

RAINBOW BRIDGE REMEMBRANCE DAY HISTORY
Deborah Barnes founded Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day in honor of her cat, Mr. Jazz. Cats are fascinating and lovable, little friends to have around the home. We miss them when they leave us. Truthfully, it’s the same with any pet.

As you are someone who may actually go to the polls and vote I need to ask you a couple of questions. Do you support any of the things Bernie Sanders proposes and what effect do you think it will have on taxes and the economy?

Solid questions. Most of his plans are good, my main reason for support is single payer healthcare. I am very much in understanding that his plans are paid through by a tax increase, but that isn't necessarily bad per se. What really matters is that it provides better quality services at a better cost. For example, in single payer, per se, many Americans would actually SAVE money from a single payer health insurance system, which is exactly what a single payer system would do.

In terms of economic care, I don't believe these policies would result in substantial layoffs. For example, Wal-Mart wouldn't see much change in corporate profits with a $15 dollar minimum wage as if you assumed half of walmart employees (700,000 employees) to get a $7.25 an hour wage (a high estimate given starting there is about $11/hour) would result in a total cost of about $10.5 billion a year for a company that made close to 127 billion dollars last year. You'll find this works for other corporations, such as McDonalds, and heck, the wage increase hasn't phased economic activity in Seattle or shut down your local Amazon.

In short, I acknowledge it would result in more taxes but also save most Americans money, and I wouldn't expect any substantial economic impacts from a Sanders Presidency.

National Lemon Juice Day

When life hands you lemons, make lemonade! And when life hands you a chance to celebrate National Lemon Juice Day on August 29, do it! This puckery fruit may be hard to taste all on its own, but it’s a versatile addition to many of your favorite drinks, dishes, and even wellness concoctions.

Lemons are the main ingredient in one of America’s favorite summertime beverages and a necessary accessory to any seafood feast. But don’t just drink the juice: use the oil from the lemon rind to make a nontoxic insect repellant or spray the juice on your hair to give it a lighter, beachier color! The options for lemons are endless!

Lemons are a sign of wealth and their trees are grown outside of homes to show affluence and provide fragrant smells to passersby.

National Lemon Juice Day Activities

Use it to make something great
Try out a Lemon Drop drink by mixing together lemon juice, vodka, and simple syrup for a refreshing beverage that’s not too sweet and not too sour. For dinner, make a one-pan dish of lemon rosemary garlic chicken and potatoes. With just a little olive oil, lemon juice, capers, and a few other spices for good measure, this chicken and potatoes dish is sure to please. For dessert, lemon pie bars, a sweet dish with a graham cracker crust and a tart lemon topping.

Put up a lemonade stand
Both kids and kids at heart can appreciate the fun of a lemonade stand. Don’t worry about going all out on the stand itself — pay attention to the product! Make the lemonade from scratch or use good ol’ Country Time for your patrons. Make sure you have enough cups and juice to go around. Add a little oomph to the stand by including some tasty (lemon!) treats to go along with the juice.

Splurge on a trip to the French Riviera’s Lemon Festival
Held every year in February and March to celebrate the end of winter, the French Riviera’s famous Bioves Garden is filled with statues made of citrus fruits. Complete with floats and large installations, the festival runs for three weeks and uses more than 145 tons of fruit.

Why We Love National Lemon Juice Day

Lemon juice is good for you
Lemon juice is really a cure for whatever ails you. Drinking a little every day can help prevent kidney stones. Having some first thing in the morning promotes digestion and a speedy metabolism. If you feel a cold coming on, put a little lemon juice and honey in some warm water to sooth your throat. It can even help bring down a high temperature.

It’s not just to drink
The uses for lemon juice are almost endless. Run out of deodorant? Use a little lemon juice to keep away those odors. Remove smudges and stains on glass with lemon juice in a spray bottle or sponge. Add some lemon juice to your laundry to make whites even whiter. It will even preserve fruits and vegetables — just squirt a little lemon juice on them to keep them from browning.

Because Beyoncé said so
Beyoncé’s 2016 album, "Lemonade," was a widespread hit for both critics and fans. First released for streaming online, the album sold more than 650,000 copies in its first week. The title, "Lemonade," pays tribute to Beyonce’s grandmother, who made lemonade out of lemons.

National Chop Suey Day

Get your chopsticks ready! National Chop Suey Day recognizes this American Chinese culinary cuisine each year on August 29.

Chop suey, which means assorted pieces, is a dish in American Chinese cuisine. The main ingredients include meat (chicken, fish, beef, prawns or pork) and eggs. As the meat cooks over high heat, add vegetables (usually bean sprouts, cabbage, and celery). The dish is bound in a starch-thickened sauce. Typically, rice accompanies the flavorful dish.

According to food historian Alan Davidson, chop suey is “A prime example of culinary mythology.” These food myths happen with popular foods. Illustrated below, several colorful and conflicting stories tell of chop suey’s possible origin.

Chop Suey Stories
Some believe chop suey was invented in America by Chinese Americans. However, anthropologist E.N. Anderson finds another conclusion. According to Anderson, the word tsap seui means miscellaneous leftovers and hails from Taishan, a district of Guangdong Province. Many early Chinese immigrants traveled from their home in Taishan to the United States.

Another account claims Chinese American cooks who were working on the transcontinental railroad invented chop suey in the 19th century.

“A prime example of culinary mythology.” - Alan Davidson on the origin of Chop Suey

One tale stemming from the Qing Dynasty connects to premier Li Hongzhang’s visit in 1896. According to the story, his chef wanted to create a meal suitable for both the Chinese and American palates. Another version of the story tells that Li wandered to a local Chinese restaurant after the hotel kitchen closed. Even though the chef was embarrassed because he had nothing prepared to offer, he made a dish for Li. Comprised of leftover scraps, the chef created the new “chop suey” dish.

Still another myth tells of an 1860s Chinese restaurant cook in San Francisco. After hours, the chef was forced to serve something to the drunken miners. He had nothing fresh to offer. However, to avoid a beating, he threw leftovers in a wok, providing a makeshift meal to the miners. The miners loved the dish, asking him for the name of the dish. To which the chef replied, “Chopped Sui.”

Traveling to the United States in 1903, Liang Oichao, a Guangdong native, wrote that there existed a food item called chop suey. While regularly served by Chinese restaurateurs, the local Chinese people did not eat this dish.

Yesterday afternoon, the world lost a very special and legendary woman. Jessica Combs was a role model for young girls and women worldwide. Some news articles said Jessi Combs was 36 years old, some said she was 39 years old. However, the wikipedia article about her said she was born on July 27th 1980 and therefore she was 39 years old. She was a professional racer, television personality, and metal fabricator. A land speed record holder, she was known as the “fastest woman on four wheels”. She was “Larger than Life” like the title of today’s Music of the day by the Backstreet Boys. May she rest in peace. Amen.
