Leia, I think your whole family could use some prayers, so I'll not just pray for Verner but you and your sons to be well and happy too. <3
This is turning out to be a tough year for y'all and I feel sad whenever I hear of someone falling ill. Hopefully this is the last time Verner gets sick and ends up in hospital again this year. :(

Since we Texas fans hate Oklahoma and we double hate A&M, I'm glad that not one of them is going to the final four. Congrats Tech. We don't hate you, but we don't like you. But, Congrats to Texas Tech and the Cavaliers for making it to the Final Four. Still awaiting the Kentucky-Auburn game and the Duke-Michigan State game. Good luck to those four teams.

Happy César Chávez Day Texas! For those who may be unaware, César Chávez is a U.S. federal commemorative holiday, proclaimed by President Barack Obama in 2014. The holiday celebrates the birth and legacy of the civil rights and labor movement activist Cesar Chavez. It is about the values he publicly held regarding worker’s rights, fair wages, pension benefits, and medical coverage. It has been a holiday in Texas since 1999. Cesar Chavez taught us the phrase “¡Sí, se puede!” (Yes, we can!).

Also, be on high alert tomorrow for NationStates hijinx! It is April Fool's Day, a day that has historically has had events that ranged from such oddities as NationDates, to Liberals vs. Conservatives, to NationStates Z to Nuclear Apocalypse to having all nations' populations reset to 5 million. We have received no warning this year, but it would be worthwhile to check your nation (and your region) tomorrow!

Then clearly you failed government in school. As Obama was my President, President Trump is your President.

The fact you had the remarkably bad judgement to vote for a traitorous witch that, among many other sins, left four people to die rather than rock some political boat does not let you off the hook on that one. However, it should lead you to consider your life choices more carefully going forward.

I had no idea Hillary lifted her campaign slogan from Chavez.

**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new Security Council Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal: "Liberate Confederation Of Corrupt Dictators
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.

Category: Repeal Resolution: SC#263 Proposed by: ShrewLlamaLand

Security Council Resolution #263 "Liberate Confederation of Corrupt Dictators" shall be struck out"...

<see the Security Council for full text and to vote>

Commentary: The Security Council, through the efforts of the Condemned, is attempting to "un-Condemn" themselves. Sorry, no, not at this time. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was flat on the last SC vote -- Commend Severisen -- which was passed after gaining 75.2% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 0 FOR and 3 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were unanimous! Yay!

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Wednesday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Thursday the 4th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 1263 Votes AGAINST: 11356

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

No Sir! Thanks for the advice but I don't have to consider my life choices more carefully going forward. I voted for Hillary Clinton because all my sisters except my youngest sis threatened to disown me if I didn't vote for Hillary Clinton.

I find it hilarious that you actually seem to think what happened at Bengazi was a real issue, instead of merely a political football that the Republicans threw at Hilary for years. I never thought there was anything genuine about their concern. For that matter, I trust no one anymore who is a Republican. Especially that amoral Russia loving backstabber Donald Trump. Even his campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" was clearly a lie.

This dialogue exemplifies everything wrong with politics and the media in our country.

Herewedieagain

Thought I had quoted both posts. When you immediately tell the other side they are all evil, not trustworthy, morally bankrupt, etc... You aren't winning new converts or even engaging in basic human dialogue.

Maybe because of internet forums and text we've all forgotten how to interact with people who disagree with us. If you would choose the same phrasing as above to say in someones face I have little hope for past virtues like patience, hospitality, charity, and kindness.

This doesn't mean you don't possess those traits, only that you aren't willing to use them with strangers on a message board. Debate policy all you want, but everyone is better off without the morally like "all Democrats are evil" or "Republicans can't be trusted".

About 50 million people vote for one party or the other, it's very unlikely they are all stupid or evil.

How does a resolution, like the one currently up for vote on the Security Council, even get enough support to make it to a full vote? I could see through that farce after reading it for a few seconds. What a joke.

There are roughly 320 million people in the U.S. and Trump and Clinton are the best this country has to offer is also what is wrong.

They aren't the best. They're just the top of the limited pile of people who are willing to put up with years of campaigning and character assassination to get a job that doesn't pay particularly well (for a top executive position) and the title "Most Powerful (wo)Man in the World". Even that last bit is a lie.

Would you be willing to subject yourself and your family to that sort of public deconstruction? I surely wouldn't. I'm a reasonably law-abiding individual who's never been arrested, but I've got plenty of disqualifying skeletons in my closet. "Oooh, he spent 15+ years moderating some stupid game's website? I wouldn't vote for that sort of neckbeard!"

Well I have you beat there Fris I was almost in big big trouble due to my friend and his inability to shut up. Short hand is that I rode the bus home he talked loud enough while sitting in the front of me at the front of the bus. It just so happens he told me he knew where to get c4 then next thing I know I'm sitting in the principal office days later explaining myself. My friend almost got me in trouble for attempting to blow up the middle school. I'd rather have a game moderator as president then me.

Best comment I’ve seen here. We need a bit more of your attitude over here in Britain. I voted to leave the EU and I’ve had people tell me I’m stupid, bigoted, racist etc. for it. People have told me they can’t be friends with me anymore because they hate my opinions so much. But there’s a fair number on the Leave side who are just as bad, accusing everyone who voted Remain of being anti-British and anti-democracy. The silent majority just wants everyone to come together and get on with it, but the people with the biggest mouths go on about how the other side are evil. It’s a worrying sign.
