**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Protection Of Biomedical Research
A resolution to modify universal standards of healthcare.

Category: Health Area of Effect: Research Proposed by: Tinfect Diplomatic Enclave

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>

Synopsis: The General Assembly is attempting the dreaded Insta-Replace™ on Biomedical Research and yet again, the GA wants to exert its governance over Biomedical Research. Some think it is not truly an international issue. One Star. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was down on the last GA vote -- Repeal: "Protection Of Biomedical Research" -- which was passed after gaining 52.6% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 1 FOR and 2 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous.

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

Happy Texas Independence Day! For those unaware of the meaning of this day, on March 2, 1836, Texas declared its independence from Mexico and became the Republic of Texas. History was forever changed. For ten years, from 1836 to 1846, Texas existed as a separate and unique nation. In Texas, March 2 is an official state holiday - Texas Independence Day. Each year, there are numerous parades, festivals and even a complete historical reenactment of the event. Happy Texas Independence Day y'all!

The sleeper Texas team to pick in your bracket this year is TCU. The Horned Frogs won the NIT last year and have played really well in the toughest league in the country. They should be a 6 seed, maybe better if they do well in the Big XII Tournament.
