**** New WA Resolution Notification *****
There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!
The new Resolution is called:
"Repeal: "Promoting Sustainable Timber"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation.
Category: Repeal Resolution: GA#422 Proposed by: Kranostav
General Assembly Resolution #422 "Promoting Sustainable Timber" (Category: Advancement of Industry; Area of Effect: Protective Tariffs) shall be struck out"...
<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>
Synopsis: The General Assembly is attempting the rare Insta-Repeal™ of the controversial sustainable timber Resolution. Most Texans wanted to save the planet last time, so we are going to respect their wishes. Two Stars. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.
The Texas response was down on the last GA vote -- Promoting Sustainable Timber -- which was passed after gaining 63.3% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 2 FOR and 1 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous.
If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.
All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Wednesday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Thursday the 15th. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 4840 Votes AGAINST: 2247
PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

Happy President's Day Texas! For those who are unaware, President's Day started out as Washington's Birthday in honor of the first President of the United States. It was first implemented in 1879. Congress tried to change it from Washington's Birthday to President's Day in 1951 and 1968 and never succeeded. States, however, picked up the ball and began declaring President's Day to honor Washington and Lincoln. Some prefer Washington and Jefferson. It is a Federal holiday and stock markets are closed, banks are closed and mail carriers have the day off. Have Fun!
