**** New WA Resolution Notification *****

There is currently a new General Assembly Resolution at vote. When expressing your opinion, please note which Resolution it is for. And remember Texans, your individual vote does count!

The new Resolution is called:
"Freedom To Seek Care
A resolution to improve worldwide human and civil rights.

Category: Human Rights Strength: Mild Proposed by: New Waldensia

Believing that individuals possess an inalienable right to"...

<see the General Assembly for full text and to vote>

Synopsis: Once again, The World Assembly attempts to play Father Knows Best by granting you a right you probably already have without their meddling and if you don't have it, then you definitely don't want this. NewTexas will go on record as AGAINST on this Resolution. This is only the opinion of NewTexas. We look forward to other Texans' opinions and comments on this Resolution. If good arguments to the contrary are made, we will reconsider our position.

The Texas response was up a tiny bit on the last GA vote -- Convention On Internet Neutrality -- which was passed after gaining 91.3% of the vote. As a reminder, all we are looking for is a simple 10% of Texans to say one way or another. We are a force for change in the WA. Every vote counts! There were 3 publicly-expressed opinions on the last Resolution with the final Texas tally running 1 FOR and 2 AGAINST and 0 ABSTAIN and 0 UNDECIDED. Texans were almost unanimous.

If you would like to take part in shaping the world you live in, please vote. Voting is a right and a privilege, please consider using it. And, if you are not a member of the World Assembly, we strongly encourage you to join.

All Texas WA Member nations please vote. Please make your Texan opinions known in Texas by 11:00 PM Friday and in the World Assembly voting booth by 11:00 PM Texas Time on Saturday the 23rd. Current voting in The World is running - Votes FOR: 6733 Votes AGAINST: 2668

Big Tex

PS: Remember, be sure to vote at the World Assembly too!

What a load of dead carp. Inalienable right to have me pick up someone else's bills? I don't think so.

So Senators John McCain (Jackass-AZ) and Rand Paul (Brainless-KY) both decided to vote against the latest attempts to kill off Obamacare.

Because of these two... **ahem** representatives, it is my suspicion the federal government will try to tax me somewhere around $1800 this year for the privilege of not being able to afford Obamacare.[1]

Americans maintained conservative majorities in both houses of Congress to do one job: Kill off Obamacare. One freakin' job.

And these two... people are standing in the way. There just ain't no justice.

What would be better? You do realize that Sen. McCain is dying of a brain tumor and Sen. Paul seems to have no brain at all, as you already noted.

We need something better than Obamacare, certainly. BETTER, not lesser. Can you come up with something or just keep whining like a mosquito?

It is wide-open chatting with peeps from around The World both IRL and NS. It is Texans, EuroTexans, WannabeTexans, ex-Texans, and plenty of Friends of Texans. We have it all and all are welcome. Texas Chat, 658 weeks and running! For the math-challenged, that is over 13 years! Check it out! Good stuff!

This is republicans doing what they do best. The thing you have to understand is that the repeal bill isn't actually a repeal. It's just moving money like always. Rs don't want to get rid of obamacare. I would vote no to.

Sunday Night Football Special @ The Big Tex Happy Taco Stands of NewTexas!

We had a shudder during the last football game like someone walked over our grave. That was followed by an insatiable desire for guacamole, lots of guacamole, in particular Guacamole Tacos! So we headed down to one of our 10,000 Big Tex Happy Taco Stands and ordered up a dozen Guac Tacs and you know what? That seriously hit the spot! In the spirit of giving, today we are offering each and every Texan a FREE Guac Tac - one per customer! Finish your day off the right way with this humble taco. It is nothing more than a flour tortilla filled to the rim with homemade guacamole made onsite right before your very eyes with farm-fresh, 100% Texan, perfectly-ripened, Haas Avocados, gently mashed with just the right amount of freshly-squeezed lime juice, homemade pico de gallo, salt and a pinch of chopped cilantro. You really cannot improve on that, but if you want to try, feel free to add Free Sour Cream and/or Free Grated Longhorn Cheddar to strive to make the perfect taco.

Enjoy Texas!

Live long and prosper Trecdom2! We expect a report on its worthiness ASAP.

Is this a new addition from Max? I'm guessing this is simply meaning how many hours since the last update.

I enjoyed the first episode of Discovery. It is a pilot, so they have to establish a few things. Despite the updated look and feel, it still has essential Star Trek elements. Tomorrow I'll watch the second episode, and likely rewatch the first. If Texans are interested, I can write up a more formal review and post it on the forum

Where does discovery lay, is it pre federation as in enterprise or is it og star trek or is it between TNG and voyager.

We would like to publicly welcome back Supreme Dictator Narshtaph of Narshtaph who has spent almost the entire last 10 years in the Texas Graveyard CryoChambers®! It just goes to show, you cannot keep a good Texan down! Welcome Home Narshtaph!

Thanks for the mini-review Trec! We are torn about your offer. We want to know more, but we also do not want spoilers. It sounds good.

A big hello from my side!

Thanks for these great words of welcome, Big Tex. It is good to be back. No clue what kept me away so long (guess life sometimes takes you around unexpected turns and corners).

Upon revival I was more than happy to see that Texas still holds up its head proudly as ever and I will once again lend all our great nation's available resources to this region's development.

In the US, Discovery is only available legally on CBS all access. It is set 10 years before TOS.
