The Grand Septentrian Expansion begins!

Thousands of transport vessels carrying roughly the equivalent to 20,000 soldiers have arrived at the shores of Septentria Isle. The soldiers have already begun the process of setting up encampments across the coastline, as well as several fortified positions meant to act as supply depots for the length of the invasion.

Several high ranking military personnel, as well as his Majesty himself, emperor Tylesias, have made their way to the isle to perform several ceremonies meant to enhance moral for the invasion. Soldiers have already begun to traverse the coarse terrain of Septentria in search of valuable and fertile land upon which to settle a temporary civilian headquarter. Immigrants and settlers are more than eager to rush to the “Newest bastion of Markian supremacy in northern phoenicia.”, as thousands upon thousands of families prepare to make the landing at Septentria in what many have dubbed “The Great Septentrian Race.”

It is expected for the process of Markianisation of the isle to begin shortly,. though it remains to be seen how exactly the native populace will react to this.

From the journal of Gerald Krachezke: "We have made contact with the massive and barbaric hordes in the mountains. These people boil bodies and set fire to other tribes. The Húkkhstiff have made a peace agreement with us, as Tongu II said to, and they have moved their camps out of our claimed borders into a safer zone from the outside world. The Vùrsteig and Blúmiddur united against us and formed the united tribes of the Kláfguutin confederacy or the UTKC. Our friends in the Mártoch tribe are facing hard times, their largest camp was burned by the mountain hordes. The mountain dwellers have no similarities with the Fisher's tongue tribes of Hopland. They speak an odd Italian-Slavic mix they call Krakianoshka. One of our soldiers took and arrow to the head but it was poison tipped. The Sèentánc have offered us solutions of coexistence with them, that they would have an imperial reserve and limited autonomy. They also assimilated the rest of the Mártoch. Should we invade the mountaineers?"

Just checked map updates on discord. The above is me roleplaying the recent expansion of my borders because I forgot to earlier.

The siege of Surakarta

After Thorbian forces dug around the capital of Dataran, Surakarta, the city had been cut off from the rest of the world for months. With the Dataran flu ravaging the city and Thorbian artillery and bombing runs constant. The civilian casualties are hard to estimate but might be close to 800 000. Thorbian and East Dataranese losses have also been staggering. Thorbia has reported over 200 000 military men dead. East Dataran close to 70 000.

The special military operation is going according to plan mostly. Bac Phu and Pensing are still holding out. The charge into Surakarta will happen in the following weeks.

The battle for Surakarta

After Thorbian and East Dataranese forces had broken the siege and rushed the capital of Dataran, the fight for the city began. The city was practically a ghost town. With communications regained with the outside world, Thorbian and East Dataranese medical staff were allowed in to care for the civilians. The atmosphere is dense but with Thorbian forces over running the empty shell of the mega city it once was, the victory is bitter sweet. Dataranese forces still remain in dug outs in rural parts of the contry and the south is still giving stiff resistance and most of the army supply retreated there trying to flank back to the capital.

Thorbian losses are nearing 260 000. East Dataranese losses are around 100 000.

The special military operations phase of putting to work a Thorbian minded goverment will happen shortly. As most of Dataranese political parties had their leaders flee or the party was suspended during the special military operation from working, Thorbia has contancted an underground extremely right wing coalition that is willing rule Dataran as a rump state in conjuction with Thorbia.
