Good luck to Rogamark, and let's everybody thank The Salaxalans for his dedicated 2111 days of service!

So close to a palindrome
Can we get something wintery next time? It's boiling down here.

Hey, has anyone ever wondered why there is no alternative to the WA? I mean, yes, it would be a complicated thing for the site to set up but.... Just like the United Nations, shouldn't there be some alternative approach to international diplomacy besides going at it alone as a hermit nation or joining the U.N. And then thus being totally bound by all the rules it sets for its member nations? I mean, talk about an attack on sovereignty when another organization can just by majority vote or something decided what laws your nation has or tells your nation that it can't defend itself in certain ways?

You could always make a WA proposal to create the Federation of independent nations (FIN), a WA like structure that sets guidelines and norms to promote international trade and cooperation.

So nations can be free from the bureaucracy, red tape and repression of the WA!

I believe our glorious delegate @Rogamark would, no doubt, endorse your hypothetical, yet valiant, efforts!

I believe he meant a numerical palindrome, as if it had happened one day later it would have been 2112 days.

Nope, I haven't wondered it because that's the way they wanted the game set up. They have zero incentive, in a not-overly-profitable volunteer-admined game to code in a second WA and just cause a major headache. Furthermore, given that WA Delegate and thus most political, military, and WA based gameplay is tied to the WA, making a parallel body would screw up way more than its worth. Ultimately it'll never happen because the Gameplay community would brigade the hell out of any Technical proposal on the matter if one was ever seriously entertained, and GP is a very vocal part of the game (especially when considering that due to regional recruitment, GP spends the most on stamps and therefore more money on the game than any of the other cliques around nationstates.

Speaking of the WA and its legislation, how are we going to handle that? I recall that Salax used to create forum polls and vote accordingly for quite some time, but the turnout was so low to nonexistent that he stopped at some point. Not that I'm unhappy with voting the way I want, but if anyone has a better idea I'm all highly caffeinated ears.

I wish we could run multiple polls concurrently with each other, then we could have gameside votes. I dunno how popular dedicating our only poll full-time to that would be, given the cultural fun we have with them.

Concurrent polls are something for nationstates 3.
Which will NEVER happen.

But if it would happen, I would want it to use something like the upcoming stellaris tile-less system, actual land to take and hold, vassals, federations, more streamlined diplomacy channels (private chats), trade, a bigger impact when resolving issues, strategic recources, warfare, multiple religions, multiple population subgroups, the possibility to exterminate undesirable subgroups, warfare, nuclear weaponry and non-stop cold wars between massive power blocks.

Basically what stellaris will be when it's finally finished, only not in space, with everyone on the same map and better. And with issues instead of anomalies.

I have a dream...
