As for cards, the April Fools gag for 2018 was a Nationstates card collecting minigame. It was so well-received that the boss decided to make it a permanent feature, though it took most of 2018 before it came back. You can check your info here: page=deck

It was.... at first. Just a gag for the April Fools and a jab to the lootbox system, but it was actually well-received and so popular that it became permanent.

Kinda like how the zombie apocalypse started out as an April Fools minigame that's now our annual Halloween thing, and the nuclear warfare minigame that also started out as an April Fools thing that's shaping up to be an annual "How NS Celebrates One of Two International Days About Getting Rid of Nukes". :P
