Panther wrote:Den was the original casus belli of the Great Pun Wars that once ravaged this peaceful region. Scarring trenches tore up our once-pleasant beaches, and deafening artillery lobbed awful puns across a no man's land littered with the mangled corpses of our tongue. After the uneasy truce, songs were written about those conflicts, but they cannot be repeated here for the scandalous number of puns included in their lyrics. Obviously, the war criminal Densaner remains at large and unpunished for his crimes against language. A military tribunal was initially created to deal with the issue, but it rapidly dissolved into word play and had to be abolished.

*Gains new respect for Densaner*

I might be a punter, but youíre still the king of overblown rhetoric.

Sahcara wrote:itís nice to know Iím not the only one who says puns here

Check the archive. I also have a side hustle in poorly written limericks.

*Wonders why the respect wasnít there to begin with*

Well, if that's the throne I've built myself, I suppose I must sit in it... It's really lumpy, though, and the legs are all wobbly. Going to have to put some folded paper under this one leg... Also, it's far too tall -- just look how my legs dangle down like a small child's. And it comes with this paper crown that's branded with a popular fast food burger joint... I don't feel good about this, at all.

You're royally screwed. But, as a prince amongst men, only you have the majesty to crown such an empressive ceremony.

Yes I do Sahcara 😀

Americatain wrote:Yes I do Sahcara 😀

Ok cool I was just curious

Sahcara wrote:hmm I actually never heard of that so you have peaked my interest in this so what is it about?

All Creatures Great and Small is a British television series made by the BBC and based on the books of the British veterinary surgeon Alf Wight, who wrote under the pseudonym James Herriot. It was first broadcasted in 1978 and in 2020 a remake was released, also titled All Creatures Great and Small. As the books were charming, so was the original 1978 broadcast and the new 2020 reboot is equally good with the much better cinematography.

Densaner wrote:Jeez, they remade that? I didnít watch the original either. Vets and farmers. Folk shoving their arms up...well, you know. Ewww. 🐄

You really should watch them. :)

The Unified Missourtama States wrote:I watched some with my mother, she was adamant we all watch it, apparently the book inspired her to go on her way to becoming a doctorate in biology. It is very British, enjoyable, but bland.
Where do you think you came from, Den?

We each have our own likes and dislikes. It's still an excellent production of the books.

lol
