Are you seriously believing Russia and Syria here more? o_O

Here's one theory why he might have made the attack: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2017/apr/07/syria-nerve-agent-attack-why-it-made-sense-to-assad

In a way, sure. I wouldn't phrase it so much as "believing them" as "suspecting tomfoolery" and/or "shenanigans in general", but if you wish to put it as such, then so be it.

Perhaps a bit more credibility is added to the fact that they aren't bothering to deny that they did launch airstrikes on the area. If they did and were trying to cover it up, why wouldn't they shove that bit under the blanket as well?

So... he did it because he thought he could? Still doesn't make much sense, considering that they would have chosen now to resort to them when you had the Brussels conference scheduled for the very same day and the peace talks to resume within a few days, does it? The army itself may be war-weary, but they've still got a number of allies behind them, and they've still been slowly but steadily making gains.

For those of us hoping to use logic to discover who used Chemical Weapons in Syria, we should abandon that. In what circumstance is it logical for rational humans to use Chemical Weapons in a civil war? Why would you ever attack the civilians of the nation you are trying to win over? Do you want to rule over a wasteland?

It's better go be the uncontested leader of a wasteland than be Gadffied.

For some, maybe.

I think most people would prefer ruling a wasteland and being alive then be anally raped to death with a machete

True, but it's not like this would ever be the only two options. (Though fleeing isn't an option for people clinging to power). This is actually an argument why an allegedly "winning" dictator president might use gas weapons.

Are you implying that's what happens :P
There is no point in ruling if there is nothing to rule, one man doesn't make a king

If that's the question then there is no logical answer besides he wanted to or he was framed

That would never happen in the real world

Permanent link to the delegate debate server. Make sure you give the whole thing a read through, the most important thing is that you make an informed decision on who to vote for. I'm certain that I speak for both myself and Jute that we care more about everyone voting for whoever they think is best rather than ourselves winning.
