Welcome to the region of Refugia, a safe haven for all!

While we have no one with any great knowledge of the nucleus of the atom, we do have some first-rate experts on the remaining 99.9% of empty space which constitutes the rest of the atomic structure. Contrary to popular belief, this space is not "empty" in the classical sense, but rather comprises a sort of cloud composed of sub-atomic particles which our learned thinkers have termed "halcyons." These halcyons are thought to be fundamental to the quiet, tranquil nature of all of this "empty space" within the atom, and much work has been done to harness all of that stillness - not for the purpose of creating energy, but rather its opposite: lotophagic energy. Should you wish, researchers at our nationalized Lotus Energy utility may be made available to you.

Yes. We have Rúben Moreira. The very best Polushian nuclear expert. We would be happy to send him to Talmon for a month to help.

Thank you! We will prepare his visa and accommodations at once, as well as an attendant to assist with travel, cooking, housework, and any other tasks to make sure that he may focus on his research.

of course my version of communism is meant t benefit the three main economic sectors in my nation, gambling, dairy, and native rupikan object production, but we also have building permits for people for them to own land, free housing because we belive the people must live at least in a home, we don't belive in equality, we believe in equity for the poor they get the basic things from the government for them to start up a life, we give people as much material they actually need to restart life, a for other things, we belive in the better working condishtions for the factory workers who produce the cheeses, etc etc, the labor unions give more of a voice for workers, private property and hard earned money is belonged to them not us, as we belive in were if oyu earn something, you keep it, communsti ocutnrys in the past failed to tend to there people wiel we do diffrent, no matter what state your in you can get a job, housing, food, water, light, etc., elections are held every five years runned buy a four party system, monarchists, communists, republican, and reformists, free and fair elections are our ideals to, now on with rights, free speech is recommended to people who dislike the government, you can by anything in rupika accept anything that's more dangerous as a armored car, onto land ownership, if oyu bought the land its yours, if its government then you and the people living on it b=must share there items under the law, in simple terms..... weren to hard core ocmmunsit capialits, we are a mesh of a republic, communist, capitalist, nation that's mostly communist, communsim but better... gosh that took some time to write, sorry for my bad English and grammer

That sounds closer to some form of Social Democracy more than anything. Something similar but not inherently the same as the Nordic model in Scandinavia.

The existence of money and private property is inherently antithetical to communism, to say nothing of what appears to be a free market system wherein you can buy almost anything. While the presence of strong social welfare is supported by communist principles, it is more of an effect, rather than a hallmark of said system.

Setting all of it aside, there's definitely a sizeable number of communist nations in our region.

Hello Refugia! It's time for a World Assembly discussion post. This one is on Repeal "LEO Force Restrictions".

Repeal "LEO Force Restrictions" is a proposal to repeal GA#590 for its narrow assumptions in a broad range of law enforcement departments across thousands of nations, its after-the-fact criminalization of some measures taken by law enforcement officers if found in retrospect that a less forceful measure was possible, and its criminalization of homicide by LEOs in all scenarios, even where necessary for public safety.

I don't know how up for debate the points are because GA#590 does include these flaws. The big question is whether or not these points validate a repeal.
The first flaw (assumptions of technology or methods) is valid and rather uncontroversial. The second flaw of retrospective realization that there were less forceful measures available but not taken is more controversial due to numerous police brutality issues in real life that likely prompted GA#590. Now, yes, ideally excessive force isn't used. But to me, there are scenarios where, in the heat of the moment, against legitimate criminals, a LEO may neutralize a target in a way that wasn't the least forceful possible, but it would be unfair to call it police brutality, and detrimental to the effort of stopping crime to criminalize. The third flaw makes sense in most cases but it's undeniable that sometimes a criminal must be killed to protect the public. The LEO is protecting the public by doing this, which is their job. This should not be illegal.

Overall, I'm for.

What are your thoughts?
