[ ABOUT THE FORCE UNITY PARTY ]
"For a stable and safe present, and a glorious and ready future - Choose Unity"
The event seemed to have made no visible impacts on other territories in terms of population booms, so this article will mostly talk about Force. The CommUnity made the graph below using the population graphs available on NationStates, and includes the four most important events of the "Drewpocalypse" - the First and Second Waves, marking the releases of the two videos Drew made on his channel; and the First and Second CTEings, marking 30 days away from their respective Waves.
Before the First Wave, we can see population steadily increasing from the efforts of past and present administrations. It can very visibly be seen however that after the first wave, the population just skyrockets with 20 to 40 more nations, many of which were confirmed to be from Drew Durnil's videos. The Second Wave was much less impactful, but could be potentially the cause of the slight increase seen a couple of days later.
The population is maintained for the next weeks after the Drewpocalypse with the natural newcomers and nations ceasing-to-exist (CTE), but once it came to the First CTEing, it can be seen on the graph that it very clearly declines rapidly, and the Second CTEing obviously made no negative impacts since the Second Wave did have any positive impacts, and the natural increase of nations can be seen kick back in action after that point in time.
Overall, the Drewpocalypse was much much more impactful to the other, larger regions - and while it did certainly boost and maintain the population numbers in Force, that was just about it. The event will, however, be a historical moment across NationStates that dared to challenge the responsiveness and welcomeness of regions across the metaverse, and Force surely did not disappoint.
Good day, Governor! First off, congratulations on your most recent appointment as Governor of Canterbury. We hope we might ask you for a brief interview?
Wonderful, let's dive right in! First question, In what direction do you want Canterbury to go towards in a governmental aspect?
Do you plan to make Canterbury stand out? If so, how?
Wonderful! Those seem like excellent plans - [and] since you've stated your plans, which will be your main priorities now that you've started as Governor?
Sources (totally not just me) show that you, along with other well known Force individuals such as Tigslarlowducken and New Legland, have had previous history in Canterbury. What was the region like before?
I'm sure Canterbury will be as glorious as ever soon enough under you! In the long run, do you plan to make Canterbury more independent from the Capital or more connected to it?
The flag currently flying in Canterbury appears to also have had a long history behind it with several versions similar to it fly before. How did this flag come to be and what does it mean?
That's quite wonderful to read, and a good note to conclude on. That's all the questions we have planned for you, Governor Chundukeratopia. But before we end this interview, would you like to say anything?
Thank you very much for your time and the best of luck in Canterbury! Have a safe and wonderful day!
| Good day, Governor! Congratulations on your most recent appointment as Governor of Power. We hope we might ask you for a brief interview?
Great! First off, In what direction do you want Power to go towards in a governmental aspect?
There will also be a bicamerial legislative with one being the House of Representatives that all Force territories share and a Senate, filled with citizens of Power. And then like what Heart and RGBN does, share the Court. What will be your main priorities now that you've started as Governor?
Once I obtain a recruitment key Power will be gaining population through a API, manual recruitment, and Disboard. Nice, best of luck with those! Now, I'm sure you know Power was previously under a different administration, and it seems you're currently using the Constution made by said administration. Do you plan to change or adapt this in the future or keep it as is?
It does set out specific ministries by the government, however that expectation of filling them can not be made when Power has so few residents as of current. Excellent approach, I might say. Next question: How do you like the flag?
In the long run, do you plan to make Power more independent from the Capital or more connected to it?
Wonderful! Now - For the last question; Perhaps the most important question in this interview, Pandas or koalas?
This is so sad. That's all the questions we have planned for you, Mister Nevertheless. But before we end this interview, would you like to say anything at all?
Thank you very much for your time and the best of luck in Power! Have a safe and wonderful day! |
Good day, Representative! First and foremost, Congratulations on your election to the House. Granted, it's been quite a few weeks ago already - but we hope you don't mind us asking you a few questions?
Excellent! We'll get right in, shall we? First, What are your main priorities now that you have been elected as a Representative?
Very simple yet effective. Second, Are there any particular issues that stand out for you and would wish to resolve?
Ah yes, that was quite the issue. Any ideas specifically to combat that?
Ah yes, quite simple, one might think. Next, You've been seated as Representative for well over [a few] weeks now since the Elections, how was your experience been so far?
How exactly?
I've actually been to a few Cabinet meetings where the same happens as well :P We're gonna wrap up this very short interview after this, but lastly, would you like to say anything at all before its conclusion?
Thank you so much for your time, it's been very much appreciated. Have a safe and wonderful day, Rep. Silvedania! |

Good day, Justice Tigslarlowducken! Before anything starts, a quick congratulations for being elected as Justice! We hope you don't mind us asking a few questions?
You've been elected for around two weeks now (at the time of the interview), how's your experience been in the Court so far?
Do you have anything in plan to achieve as Justice?
Though not exactly recent, what is your opinion on the Libertatis Situation?
Anything else to add?
Indeed. That's all the questions we have in plan, really. To conclude the interview, is there anything you want to say before we end it?
Thank you very much for your time, it's very much appreciated! Have a safe and wonderful day!

In This Edition: • Headlines • Party Platform • Desk Of The Chair • The Party List | Welcome to The Party List, a column dedicated to interviewing the People Behind The Progress inside the Force Unity Party Today, we are speaking with one of Force's most decorated Citizens with a resume to match political powerhouses in the Union's history. He's been Former Deputy Prime Minister of three terms; Former Advisor to the Prime Minister; Former Minister of Defense, Communications, Foreign Affairs, and Internal Affairs; Former House Representative of [two] terms; Former Speaker of the House of two terms (one Acting); Former Deputy Speaker of the House; Former Prime Minister of two terms; Recipient of both Dot Citizenship and Knighthood; and of course, founder and Chairperson of the Force Unity Party. I'm talking about none other than our very own Sir Lashnakia, how are you today?
Very well myself, thanks for asking. Shall we dive right into the questions?
Wonderful! Now, you've been in Force for a notable amount of time now. How and when would you say your political career started in Force?
Had a good term as DPM, but my next notable term as anything was really as PM, as I struggled beforehand to get certain ministries kickstarted, and wasn’t exactly instructed. But it seems in the end you've done really well when it came to that part, wouldn't you say?
Next question, how would you describe your entire stay in Force in a couple of words?
Take your time
In a positive way, I assume?
Next off, what were your primary inspirations in pursuing progress in the Union?
A glorious aspiration, if I do say so myself. What was the most difficult obstacle you met during your time in Force?
Was Heart your first region when you came to NS?
why are you so Communist?
Our next question is a simple one: what is your favorite part about the Union?
I'd answer the same tbh. You've seen quite a few Prime Ministers come and go, including yourself. Would you call your past terms successful?
Epic. If you could change one thing about Force, anything, what would it be?
Well said. Our interview is coming to a close, so would you like to say anything - anything at all before we conclude this?
None at all Thank you very much for your time, Sir Lashnakia. It's truly been an honor. Have a wonderful day. Stay safe!
| Hello, fabulous readers! At the time of this article's publishing, I am Deputy Chairperson Caduceo of the Force Unity Party, here to talk about the release of this Edition and progress in the FUP in this column, "From The Desk Of The Chair", a column specially designated for updates and messages from the Chairperson and will most likely appear in every published edition after this one. I'll be temporarily stealing the spotlight in this edition from our actual Chairperson Lashnakia, as he's only been recently reseated as Chairperson and I had stuff thought up to say in this column beforehand. Soooo...sorry Lash, but don't worry - I asked permission. It's very likely that you'll skip this column altogether, but I'm here to talk about the FUP and its recent progress since its founding. As you may or may not know, we have been the minority party since our existence - and this is highlighted by our thinning membership and participation in government. I am not afraid to admit this, but I will tell you right now - the FUP has made sufficient progress on the foundations of our party. Let's break this statement down to the core goals we have achieved:
We are in need of your support now more than ever. Taking the time to read our party platform, supporting our campaign, and voting for us in the July 2020 elections are vital to help achieve the best of the best for our Union. You might even be inclined to join and participate in the FUP and to that I say yes, it's the greatest help you can give us at this time. That's all for now - see you in the next issue of the CommUnity. Don't forget to always Choose Unity |
Hallo, greetings region.
The results of the elections of these months and who are the next ones coming, a good turn for the territories and a big sports event in roleplay - everything that you will find in this June's edition of the Force Flyer!
The results of the elections of these months and who are the next ones coming, a good turn for the territories and a big sports event in roleplay - everything that you will find in this June's edition of the Force Flyer!
On the 1st of June, a new election was called by House Speaker Sir Lashnakia. It was time for the June Justices Election and honestly, it wouldn’t have been a Force month without another election.
This election was the last one held without the new updated elections schedule introduced with Amendment 23. Amendment 23, which was sign into law on the 6th of June, introduces two new elections. General and midterm elections. Before, Prime Minister and House elections were held on the same month while Court elections were held on a different one. Now, the Court of the Union will now be elected during midterm elections with the capital’s House seats while the Prime Minister and the territories’ House seats will be elected during the general election, the most important of the two. For your information, general elections will be held in March, July and November while midterm elections will be held in January, May and September.
After the election was called, two candidacies were deposited which meant that even if the two were being elected, there would still be a missing Justice office that would need to be filled. Anyway, the two candidacies were incumbent Justice Tigslarlowducken and Governor Pridnestrovskaia moldavskaia who had previously tried to become Justice in the last Court election but due to him failing to answer Debate questions he had been disqualified. After the three mandated days of candidacy announcements, people were ready to go to the next stage.
Due to House Speaker Lashnakia resigning, we had to wait for 4 days for former Deputy House Speaker Empire of elysium to finally start the Debate stage. The Debate exists so that voters can know the policies of their possible candidates but also to know who’s actually serious about it because if you don’t answer them you are disqualified from the election. Anyhow, both candidates answered in the due time and it was time to pass onto the next phase.
Like most Court elections, the turnout was very low with only 6 people going to vote. In fact, the turnout was so low that the last time an official election had that much voters was in November 2019 Emergency House Election which had 6 voters but only 5 that had a valid ballot. The Force Flyer has found that most citizens do not go voting for Court elections due to them being non-important at their eyes since the Court is barely used in Force anyway. Nevertheless, all of the 6 voters voted in favour of each candidate making them both uncontested and easily elected.
Under the law, if there was a missing Justice in the Court following an election there were two choices. First, the House Speaker could call an Emergency Court Election to try and find a new candidate or the Founder could simply appoint someone. The second solution was the one chosen and on the 17th, Marcelli was appointed as Justice by Renegalle. Marcelli would also later become the current Chief Justice due to his experience at being one in the past.
As the first General election since the passage of Amendment 23 is arriving, we can already see that this will probably one of the most controversial and important ones Force will ever have. Like almost every election, the candidacies announcement phase will start on the 1st of the month. Currently, for Prime Minister the candidates that we all know will present themselves are, current Minister of Internal Affairs and Force Unity Party Nominee Caduceo, Democratic People's Party Nominee Bennisia, incumbent Prime Minister of the New Western Empire United soviet states of russian empire, also known as Texas, (under the nation United soviet states of russian imperial) and incumbent Deputy Prime Minister, World Assembly Delegate and Cheese Party nominate New Legland (as Cumcision). For the House, the Force Unity Party has currently confirmed that they will support Empire of elysium and Alludo for the Heart and RGBN seats respectively. If you still didn't know, the general election only elects territorial seats and currently, Heart and RGBN each have 2 seats in the House. Following some rumours, the Democratic People's Party will also be having candidates for the House but the Force Flyer still doesn't know who they will be. The Federalist Party will be having Minister of Communications Azerubia (as Suter) as a candidate in RGBN and incumbent Prime Minister Salibaic for Heart (as The Scottish Republic).
Not long enough, there was a controversy concerning the Democratic People's Party. The DPP was by far the most influential and powerful party of Force and when its chairman and leader Salibaic announced that he would not run for Prime Minister for the general election, it left a big hole that needed to be filled. Azerubia, Sumeka and Bennisia were all candidates for the nomination. Azerubia quickly stood down and endorsed Sumeka after he was elected President of RGBN. Sumeka easily won the voting intentions poll but it was now time for the real election. Bennisia won the election 4 votes to 3 and so went on to get the nomination. As soon as he was elected, Bennisia was accused by Azerubia and Empire of Elysium of having committed cronyism and harassment to get the nomination. They said that Bennisia was going on and talking to every party member and offering them cabinet positions if they voted for him and even harassed a voter so that he would change his vote. They said they had proof of Bennisia doing cronyism but he replied that he was basically just campaigning and was doing nothing illegal, he also said that he didn't harass anyone and they were just completely wrong. There was also the fact that one voter wanted to vote for Sumeka but due to problems with the forums, he couldn't. That basically meant that both candidates would have had the same amount of votes which left a clear division in the party. The people that voted for Sumeka clearly didn't like Bennisia due to them not liking his policies on territories and more. They also didn't like the fact that just after he was unbanned from Force for voter fraud, he was already trying to become PM. That lead to a massive exodus of members with more than 6 people leaving the party (the party had around 12 members) and even the chairperson Salibaic left the party due to the toxicity that the primary caused. Due to deputy chairperson Azerubia also leaving, the role of chairperson was given to Bennisia. Most of the members that quit the party would go on to join the Force Unity Party or become independent, Salibaic and Azerubia even decided to create their own new party, the Federalist Party, which is a party in favour of giving more rights to the territories.
The Force Flyer would also like to remind you that while preparing for this election, please inform yourself by looking at the candidates' and parties' policies before choosing your vote. Currently, the only candidate having released a program is Caduceo, we don't know if the other candidates wil release programs but Texas said he wanted to wait for a debate to release it, also parties have manifestos that you should definitely check. Here's the Federalist Party manifesto, Force Unity Party manifesto and Democratic People's Party manifesto. You should also wait for the Debate, with a capital D, to start on the forums because that is mostly where candidates will reveal their policies. The Force Flyer is also planning to organize a debate between candidates on the Force discord server so stay tuned. We also want to remind you that the people that put the most efforts in their campaigning aren't necessarily the best choices and that policies should always come first.
This month, the Prime Minister and I undertook a massive project to revitalize the territories, an integral aspect of the Federal Union, which up until now had not been seriously tended to. Revitalization takes more than a simple pledge; it requires real steps to be taken. We did this by appointing (and for once, capable) new leaders to existing territories, helping them build up government institutions and resources, encouraging participation in federal elections and events, and reforming the laws concerning the territories.
The first concrete step we took to do this was the appointment of Pridnestrovskaia moldavskaia (also known as Nevertheless and the current Chief Research Officer), on June 11, as Governor of Power. So far, he’s grown the previously inactive region from just one nation to 10, with plans in future to increase both that and the WA population (although progress has been admittedly slow, partially because of the well-known summer lull). He’s also started API Recruitment to help ensure the longevity of any population gains and hopefully in future, a steady population increase.
Then just a few days later, on June 15, Chundukeratopia (a former Minister at one point and former high profile member of the now-defunct alliance, the SCUT) was appointed as Governor of Canterbury. Since then, they too have started API Recruitment and begun the construction of new government institutions, including a Constitution for the region. Canterbury is a unique territory, due to its history. Prior to becoming part of the Union (and being refounded), Canterbury was a prominent region in the defunct interregional alliance known as the SCUT. It had its own government, complicated regional politics (which at one point resulted in a coup), and an amazing culture. After the SCUT went inactive and Canterbury itself did too, many of the region’s members came to Force, where almost all of them would assume prominent positions. The chariot, a former member, became Deputy PM, Minister of Defense, a member of the Court, a House Rep., and ran a nearly successful PM campaign. New Legland, the current Deputy Prime Minister and World Assembly Delegate, who also once served as Minister of Foreign Affairs, was a highly prominent member of Canterbury who for the latter part of the region’s history controlled the Founder account. Chundukeratopia, the aforementioned Governor of Canterbury, who was also a former member, has also served in important positions in Force, including Minister of Internal Affairs. Due to this unique history that Canterbury has, a special focus has been made on honoring this. That includes the Governor inviting former citizens back to the region, the revival of the Discord server (the same one that once served the region when it was sovereign), and the naming of certain institutions, such as the Femoral Council, to honor regional icons.
Again on June 15, another major step forward was made for the territories. RGBN began its first election in a while, while after several days, resulted in the election of Suter (also known as Azerubia, the current Minister of Communications) as President. RGBN was different from most other territories, in that it had a stable population and a somewhat active government. Even then though, it suffered from chronic inactivity, which led its incumbent president to withdraw from the election race just prior to its conclusion. Since Suter’s election on the 20th, he has rearranged the Cabinet and added a new member to it as well as making a serious effort to revitalize the RMB’s RP, which drove much of the region’s historical activity. In his time so far, the region’s population has remained stable, at about 35. RGBN, similar to Canterbury, also had a history prior to joining the Union. As a sovereign region, it was Force’s first embassy (after The Embassy) and one of its members made Force’s first RMB post. Its members were always courteous and friendly in their interactions with us and they had a very active RP and lively discussion, which at one point helped their population surpass 130. Unfortunately, the region became inactive and at one point, when its population had gone into the single digits, announced they were shutting down. Luckily, we took notice of this and their Founder agreed to join the Union, in exchange for us doing our best to revitalize the region and increase their population. Ever since, they’ve been a Union territory and now hold the highest classification besides the capital, which makes them a state.
Finally, some changes happened in Heart. While the region hasn’t been extremely active since First Minister Salibaic became the Union’s PM, it has maintained a steady level of RMB engagement and First Minister Empire of elysium has started doing manual recruitment in hopes of gaining new members. In addition, there is word of a potential change in leadership soon, which could potentially help increase the region’s engagement.
Beyond the appointment of new leadership and building of institutions, a territorial reform law (Amendment 25 to the Constitution) came into effect after periods of voting by the House and citizenry concluded on the 29th. The amendment shifted responsibility for the territories away from the Office of the Prime Minister (who term after term has shown itself incapable of effectively dealing with both the capital and the other territories) and to a newly created office, that of High Commissioner. The High Commissioner, unlike the PM, is appointed by the Founder. They are charged with appointing viceroys to each state (and other important territories) in order to coordinate the flow of information (news, events, elections, etc) and work to deal with issues that the territories face. The Prime Minister is still the leader of the Union, but their role has now changed to that of inter-union cooperation, rather than direct intervention. Some other changes were made in the amendment, including adding special classifications of territories which previously existed but weren’t formally recognized by law, such as Military Occupations. Finally, Territorial Law was recognized as its own form of law. They cannot contradict, amend, or suspend federal law, but only House Law and the Constitution can contradict, amend, or suspend them. Executive Law, the type of law created by the PM or Founder, can continue to do things it could before, such as appoint Governors to non-state territories but can no longer affect territorial law. This creates a special separation of powers and helps to achieve a more equitable federal system. In case of conflict between federal and territorial laws, the Court has the ability to strike down those which are illegal.
Throughout the Union’s history, territories have played an important, but understated role. They have supplied us with some of our most capable leaders and engaged citizens, contributed to our laws and reforms that we’ve undergone, and continue to play an important role in Union politics. In recognition of this, these actions have been taken in order to promote the further development of the territories, elevate their status, and ensure cohesion in what is, after all, a Union.
So - here I am again. It really doesn't feel like a year has passed since the last time I wrote about Pride in Force, yet here we are - after celebrating Pride 2020 inside the Union of Force.
I don't think it's an overstatement to say that Pride Month in Force was much more extravagant this year than it was last year, with 80 nations more inside the region than it was last June, the celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies were much more vocal and impactful. In fact - last time I wrote about Pride Month I was able to enumerate the few people who changed their Discord profile pictures to various Pride variants, but now - so much people did it that I can barely list them! You know who you are, so good job 🏳️🌈
We also got a couple of fancy new Pride Month variants of the different flags being displayed across the Territories that make up the Union of Force. Force got a new design (because the one I made last year would literally burn your eyes out from all the bright colors :P), and so did the states of Heart and RGBN. Not only that, but the Force World Factbook Entry had a little change in the motto displayed - "Freedom, Justice, Reasonably Priced Love, and Freedom To Love" - which proudly stayed on the WFE for the duration of the month. Even the two major political parties of the Union - the Democratic People's Party and the Force Unity Party - had rebrands in their respective logos in celebration of the event, the DPP styled a rainbow background and the phrase "Love Wins" on top of their Snowy Owl, and the FUP logo waved a Pride Flag instead of their usual orange flag. Indeed, this month was one of the best experiences I've ever experienced - where I and the other members of both the LGBTQIA+ community and the Union of Force truly enjoyed just hanging out and talking freely and openly; And so in the spirit of embracing this wonderful community I am a part of, I sincerely thank all of you for giving me and everyone else such a warm and comfortable atmosphere to truly be ourselves in, not only during Pride Month but any other day as well.
It was truly a breath of fresh air for many of us - because in these times we need each other more than anything else. In times where it's dangerous to simply leave our homes; In times where injustice and discrimination are violently displayed; In times where people are forcibly and constantly divided - but in these dark times are also when the light is brighter than ever, for in these times are selflessness and kindness keeping us strong; in these times are when our voices sound louder together; in these times are when love matters most. Pride Month 2020 has helped amplify the beauty in humanity that is now often overshadowed - and we need to keep being the light even as Pride Month comes to an end. Be thankful, be loving, be human. This has been Caduceo greeting you a wonderful and beautiful Pride Month 🧡
This month, the Official Force Roleplay hold one of its biggest and longest event it ever had. It was the 1992 Force World Cup. Held in the United Socialist States of Azerubia and Niemaa, this competition was held similarly to what we can see with the NationStates World Cup. Pretty early up in the preparation of the competition, the hosting cities of the tournament were revealed and they were respectively in the azerubian cities of Zarevica, Smerot, Zvorventa, Obrejinova, Brelava and Crezevac. The tournament was scheduled to start on the 1st of June (RP Time) but before that, on the 1st of May, was the draft. The draft revealed what nations would be in what groups and here were the results:
Group A: Azerubia, Kingdom of adlandia, Heonix and Pyrwen
Group B: Renegalle, Greatest elysium, Niemaa and Appalachia (Great allegheny)
Group C: Salibaic, United nations of colombia, Dragvir and Silvedania
Group D: Sumeka, Matria union, Tigslarlowducken and Illyrus
The group stage started off pretty calmly with no real stress since only one nation in each group was going to be eliminated after the end of the group stage. The unlucky winners were Pyrwen, Greatest Elysium, Silvedania and Illyrus. Silvedania lost all of its games due to them forfeiting after the player decided to quit the roleplay while the tournament was ongoing, Illyrus and Greatest Elysium both managed to get one point due to ties but that wasn't enough for them to qualify and Pyrwen, even though he won one game, was behind Azerubia and Adlandia by one point and couldn't qualify. In contrast to them, Heonix, Dragvir, Niemaa and Sumeka had managed to be top one of their competition and so had the right to pass the first round.
The first round of the final stage saw the nations of United Nations of Colombia, Matria Union, Tigslarlowducken and Appalachia all get eliminated respectively by Renegalle, Adlandia, Azerubia and Salibaic. It was at this point that the competition really kicked off. People started cheering for their team to win, were disappointed when they were eliminated and whenever the daily matches results were revealed, people started talking about them. Even some news sources of some nations started talking about the event and people had really been starting to be excited to see the results. The second round was a surprise as all the frontrunners of the group stage were eliminated except Niemaa who managed to eliminate the host and their biggest rival, Azerubia, 2 to 0. We were now on to the semifinals. Renegalle would be against Adlandia and Niemaa would be the opponent of Salibaic. Both Renegalle and Salibaic managed to come out on top and sent the losers to the bronze final. Niemaa was the one to win against Adlandia 3 to 2 in overtime and we were now onto the big final. Results haven't yet been released in RP but the Force Flyer can now announce to you that Salibaic has defeated Renegalle 4 to 2 and is now the World Champion. Salibaic will also receive the $10 billion cash prize that was promised to the winner and he will be able to use it for whatever does he wants.
Following the latest RGBN election, I (Suter) have been elected as the new President of the region. Under my new leadership, I would like to work on reviving this region and trying to create a new golden era for it. I do not want to try and idolize on the great past of RGBN and trying to recreate it but more try to make a totally new RGBN with a totally new look. We currently have over 30 nations in the region but not a lot of them actually interact with each other. That's why I would like to try and recruit new people from here in Force. If you join RGBN, you will still keep your Force citizenship (and all of the rights that come with it) and the right to talk on its RMB since RGBN is part of our great union. We would like to become bigger and greater and you would have the chance to help my big project. RGBN always has been a region made to chill so you won't have a lot of responsibilities if you join and even the government is pretty chill. We even started our own roleplay but it is currently inactive due to not enough members. I also want to introduce a legislative branch for RGBN, I'm thinking about going for a representative democracy or even a direct democracy with an assembly where everyone could participate. I would love to hear your feedback on this. Anyway, if you are interested in helping me in this great project you can telegram me or even contact me on discord (Azy#4617).

Hello everyone, I'm Azerubia and welcome to the 19th edition of the Union Weekly Recap. This will be a short one and I will be resuming the first week of July 2020 to you. Anyway, let's get onto the news:
- Candidacies announcements for the July general election has ended. United soviet states of russian imperial (Texas), Caduceo and Bennisia have presented themselves as Prime Minister candidates. Empire of elysium and The Scottish Republic will run for one of the two Heart seats while Suter and Alludo will be doing the same for the RGBN seats.
- The June 2020 edition of the Force Flyer is now out! Get your copy now:

Hello, Power. Yep it’s me Azerubia here for the late 20th edition of the Union Weekly Recap. Sorry for not being able to do it on time but I had some problems with my computer and couldn’t write it. Anyway, let’s get into the news of last week:
- Bennisia has been condemned by the Court for voter fraud and will see his right to vote and to run for office be removed for 1 year and 2 years respectively. All the details of the court case can be found here: https://forcens.com/index.php?topic=475.0
- Ex-Prime Minister Salibaic resigned on the last day of his mandate letting ex-Deputy Prime Minister New Legland take the control of the region. New Legland then refounded the Defense Ministry and appointed himself as every Minister. He then resigned and gave the power to a nation named Tyjarvustivdorker that wasn’t even in the region. The House then impeached the new Prime Minister and gave the power to ex-Speaker Empire of elysium who made everything come back to normal and then resign and gave back the power to Salibaic.
- Caduceo has won the July General Election by 12 votes and is now the new Prime Minister of Force. The full results can be found here: https://forcens.com/index.php?topic=490.0
- Loomburg has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister, United nations of colombia Minister of Internal Affairs and Lashnakia Minister of Foreign Affairs. Sumeka, Heonix and Azerubia will keep their position as Minister of Culture, Roleplay and Communications respectively.
- Salibaic has been appointed as High Commissioner by the Founder.
- Tenjouin is now First Minister of Heart following the decision of the Founder.
- The first Official Moderation Team of the Union discord has been created by Founder Renegalle and it consists of Tigslarlowducken, Marmotville and Azerubia.
- Representative Suter has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives after the resignation of ex-Speaker Empire of elysium.
Greetings fellow citizens of Power. It is me, Azerubia ready to present to you the 21st edition of the Union. Sorry for being late but I was ill yesterday and couldn’t do it. Anyway, let’s stop talking about me and go right into it:

Good day, Power! In order to reduce sending out too many messages but still deliver the latest from the CommUnity Newsletter, we are sending updates like these every Sunday similarly to how the Union Weekly Recap works!
Here are this week's latest:
The anonymous Survey Station was a Discord Server made specifically to streamline and automate the survey-taking process and maintained the full anonymity of the taker's responses. This was done using the features of two Discord bots, Reaction Roles and Pollmaster, of which their features can be found here and here, respectively. The voter turnout was not the best as the Survey was offered to a select few individuals. Their answers are completely anonymous - even to me! So without further ado, here are your survey results:
Roleplay Names:
Proteus Roleplay
The Unified States
Force Globalisation
RP-name should be put on vote in the RP itself. Likely use the name of FORCE's "planet" itself
RMB Roleplay Suggestions:
Name it ForceBook (suggested by two people)
Overall Suggestions:
Currently the old Players have snowballed to a point where new Players have no way of resisting their plans or have no chance of growing to be equivalent to them. Examples: have a way to balanced high GDP growth/have a limit on how you can grow it (you can't just repeatadly invest money in industry if you don't have the people that can work in them)

- Prime Minister Caduceo: Greetings, Mr. Deputy Speaker
Deputy Speaker Salibaic: Thank you Mr Prime Minister. I will allow for 5 mins to allow other reps to turn up otherwise I will ask you just mine and Suter's questions.
- Wonderful
[5 Minutes Later] Now we may begin, Mr. Prime Minister. What is your plan to tackle Capital population?
- Currently, we're handling that through my Manual Recruitment and IA being commissioned to improve the current Newcomer's Manual
Thank you, How is your government planning to carry out its world assembly program?
- Currently we're a bit falling behind on that but we'll most likely start off with naming it as most other WA Programs and creating informative dispatches to encourage raising the WA Population.
But what specifically will this program do?
- It will prioritize mostly on endorsing each other, especially New Legland, and staying inside the Union and the WA for now, since we're a relatively medium-sized region and don't need to majorly participate in the WA.
How are you going to deal with the lack of civil servants?
- That's a good question, I've recently asked Cabinet if they wanted to reorganize their Civil Servant positions so that we can create an on-site campaign to increase awareness on Civil Service, hopefully attracting attention towards it. I'll also be tightening the reins a slight bit on Cabinet.
How do you plan to use forums?
- What do you mean specifically?
What will your administration do to encourage forum usage, and will you be publishing governmental documents to it?
- Ah I see, thank you for the clarification.
Currently, the most major uses for the Forums are for Law, the Court, and different Application processes. While there's nothing wrong with that, formatting on the forums is a slight bit restrictive compared to Dispatches and are not the most accessible to NS, since a few Citizens in the past don't prefer using the Forums.
So we might organize stuff on the Forums to redirect to more important things, Government Documents are still being constantly published on the Forums; It's made less for communication between Citizens as it is for organization of the Government
Thank you, I have been informed that there is slight inactivity inside cabinet, do you feel that any of your ministers are inactive and if so who?
- I will admit that while the Cabinet channel and a few Ministries are quite quiet, I wouldn't call any of my Ministers inactive yet, most of them are simply busy.
Do you feel any specific ministry is falling behind the rest?
- I wouldn't be too inclined on pointing any fingers to cause discouragement. No Ministry's "falling behind", there's simply more room for improvement.
Do you agree with weekly update reports for ministers as described in [the Freedom of Information Act]?
- I mean past administrations already publicly released Update Reports from their Cabinet, and while a weekly update is a slight restrictive, I see why it's needed.
What do you think of the current House?
- It's doing its job quite well considering a good chunk of it was only elected this month.
Are you keeping up with the pressure that this role is giving you?
- What do you mean specifically by "keeping up"?
To continue doing something in the same manner or to the same level of proficiency.
- So just to clarify, are you asking me if I'm living up to the successes of past holders of this position?
I assume so
- Ah well if that's the question, I think it's too early to tell. I can certainly understand the difficulties of this position but I think it's too early to tell if I'm "keeping up"
The House seems to be currently more active than the Cabinet, do you have any plans to change that?
- Ah well that's quite a claim but if that's the case, I mentioned before that I'll be a bit tighter in Cabinet and make sure they get their things done properly and timely without giving them too much weight to bear.
I will remind you not all of these questions are mine
- Yes I'm aware
Do you support the creation of an Activity Commission?
- And what would that imply?
The reinstatement of GARC
- Ah I'm sorry but do you mind reminding me what GARC stands for
Governmental Activity Review Commission
- Ah thank you very much, as for the question - I'm not quite sure yet
Do you agree we should have Ministerial Questions?
- I think it would be a tad bit excessive especially since the [Freedom of Information Act] will already require weekly updates and people can already easily converse with their local Ministers
Do you think the House should be elected with Proportional Representation?
- I'm not quite sure, especially since we have relatively small parties in place
Do you think the House should be elected with Mixed Member Proportional Representation?
- Once again, parties are relatively small
There has been much speculation that the primary reason you won the last election was due to your use of telegrams. Do you think it is fair that people who can afford stamps are able to win easier, if not how should we fix this?
- I didn't realize there was "much speculation" around that part but I'm clarifying that I did not use Stamps for those telegrams. I sent a smaller batch manually beforehand but as for the region-wide telegram, I was allowed to send one out by Renegalle.
Also, if the reason that I won the election was because of telegrams, then my opponent would've had a massive advantage over me as he used stamps for the Capital's region-wide telegram
Do you agree territorial oversight should stay with the Founder and the High Commission?
- I don't see why not, the Founder already had the oversight before and as far as I'm aware the High Commission is doing their job.
How do you plan to increase governmental participation? As well as voter participation?
- Awareness and outreach as I'd campaigned for before the Elections. Simply getting the word out more efficiently onsite and making it easier for everyone should hopefully increase both.
But isn't there a situation were people don't even know how to vote? And that doesn't address governmental participation
- Which is why we've planned to improve the Newcomer's Manual and help release more guides for things such as joining the Discord, knowing your way around the forums, and such as that where we'll have a guide for the newly implemented voting system in place and as far as I'm aware [The Minister of Internal Affairs United Nations of Colombia] is already writing those.
And for the Governmental Participation specifically, being more vocal with the Governorship Program and utilizing the Academia de Nocturna for guides to elections and positions and such should help.
Isn't governorship under the rule of the Founder alone?
- Yes but if people are interested in joining, the Founder can help them get started. We've had something similar happen a week or so ago when someone wanted to become a Governor and Renegalle was helping them out but unfortunately I believe they've gone inactive before they started.
Shouldn't that be purely run by the founder though rather than your government?
Renegalle: no, they actually came back a week ago lol.
- Ah that's good to hear [Renegalle], thank you for letting me know
Renegalle: I already let you know a week ago but sure
- There weren't any further updates so I thought they disappeared
[Sir Salibaic] yes, but we're raising awareness on the matter in order to help out the Union in a whole. I don't see the problem if it's a win-win
If it was awarenes spreading, it should be done by the high commission or founder?
- I don't quite see the problem you're putting up. I was welcoming them into Force and they seemed interested in Governorship, so I told them how it worked and when they were interested I let Renegalle know; And that was before I was PM; I think
Wouldn't this be cabinet [encroachment] into an area of government it has no control over?
- Mr. Deputy, the matter started on July 7th and the main purpose wasn't to recruit them into Governorship, they simply read the Newcomers Manual and found interest in Governorship. The Territorial Revision Amendment passed days earlier but it started coming into effect after the 7th
We are talking about a [Governorship] program which you still propose. And the [Territorial Revision Amendment] passed before that
- Yes I said that
And in effect before the 7th
- But you started as High Commission on the 11th
And I will reiterate the main purpose wasn't to get them into Governorship, it was to welcome them into the region and the opportunities available for them
But shouldn't advertising be done by the authorities that control it
- I was still MoIA on the 7th and it was my job to welcome them. And I didn't advertise it, it was on the Newcomer's Manual and they read it which they found interesting
And we aren't talking about that one event. We are talking about the actual program, Mr Prime Minister
- I'm loosely talking about it, since there is no actual "Program" in place. Now may I remind you that this is PMQs and we should move back to the planned questions sent in my you and your colleagues.
Questions are gathered by any way the house chooses
- Any more? We've been going for more than an hour, I believe
There is no more but may I remind you that you are in company of the House, sarcasm is not welcome here. Good day Mr Prime Minister
- I can assure you that I wasn't being sarcastic in the slightest, I was asking a question because I have other things to do. Have a wonderful evening, Mr. Deputy Speaker
Have a safe and wonderful day!

Hello Power. It’s me again, Azerubia. As we approach the start of August, it is time for this week’s Union Weekly Recap. Due to it being the summer causing a big inactivity boost, nothing really important happened this week but I’m gonna still do it. Here we go:
- The Fourth Force Emoji Contest is still on its way. You can go vote for your favourite emojis here: https://forcens.com/index.php?topic=509.msg3389#new
- United soviet states of russian imperial (Texas) has been appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister.
- The House has produced its second House Document following their second debate since the general election. You can get your hands on it here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/18E_NCr9eFrFZOmKgAIiZ29PQms80m6yhtcgSjf_8wbk/edit?usp=sharing
A new Prime Minister elected, a constitutional crisis, the Court in action and a new roleplay - everything that you will find in this July's edition of the Force Flyer!
A new Prime Minister elected, a constitutional crisis, the Court in action and a new roleplay - everything that you will find in this July's edition of the Force Flyer!
This month in Force, we saw the first-ever General Election in the history of the region. Following the amendment passed by ex-House Representatives Lashnakia, elections
had been reorganized and divided into two big elections. The general election that would elect the Prime Minister and the House seats coming from the territories with enough World Assembly members (Heart and RGBN) while seats for the capital region plus the Court Justices were elected during the Midterm election. The elections also had new assigned dates they would have to follow and on July the 1st. It was time for the first general election.
This election was going to be a big one as with the high stakes of the office of the Prime Minister being elected, a lot of candidates presented themselves and were thoroughly campaigning to try and get the most voters possible. As always, House elections weren’t really contested in terms of candidates as there were exactly enough people to fill the 2 seats of both Heart and RGBN. In fact, both the Force Unity Party and the Federalist Party each presented one candidate for each of the territories. The incumbent Speaker of the House, Empire of elysium, was running for reelection in Heart under the FUP while his fellow party member, Alludo, was their candidate for RGBN. As mentioned before, Federalists were the other party to run candidates for the territorial House seats. In Force politics, Federalists are known to be the party of the territories, most of their policies are about the improvement of the non-capital regions of the Union and they hold big roles in the territorial branch of the government such as their co-leaders being the High Commissioner (supervisor of the territories) and the President of RGBN. Anyways, for this election, they were running both of their co-leaders with High Commissioner Salibaic running for Heart under The Scottish Republic and President of RGBN Suter, running well, for RGBN. We could maybe have expected a little more competition for the seats with the Democratic People’s Party running their own candidates but nothing came out of this. They probably would not have had much luck getting seats anyway since before the election started, the Force Unity Party and Federalist Party made an agreement where both parties would be supporting and voting for each other’s House candidates.
But because the Democratic People’s Party didn’t try their luck in the House election, that doesn’t mean that they weren’t doing anything for the Prime Ministerial election. They were putting up Bennisia as their candidate following his win during the DPP primary. This win got Bennisia a lot of power since he was now in charge of the largest party at the time but due to a lot of people not liking him and his policies and also other things that will be mentioned in another article, there was a big secession of members. This caused the creation of the Federalist Party and the gain of power of the Force Unity Party but still, Bennisia had a big campaign with lots of policies and he had some supporters and was a big contender for the election. The Force Unity Party was running Caduceo and they were the favourites for this election and probably the most involved in it. Caduceo produced multiple dispatches for his campaign and advertised it everywhere around Force, obviously because of that it got criticism as people accused him of basically just trying to win by advertising constantly with his fancy formatted dispatches which would make people want to vote for them more due to how professional they looked instead of his policies. The Force Flyer would also like to remind you that we don’t endorse any of these sides and that we are politically neutral and only here to report the news from a bystander point. The Cheese Party also presented a candidate in the name of Cumcision (a puppet of WA Delegate New Legland) but since the Cheese Party is considered a satirical party by most people, everyone knew they didn’t stand a chance to get elected. Finally, the Federalist Party was the only party to not run any candidate, instead, they endorsed independent candidate United soviet states of russian imperial (a puppet of United soviet states of russian empire) which they had pretty close ties with.
Something unique with this election was the news coverage it had around it. Apart from the Force Flyer, the SBC and the CommUnity also covered the events on live. Both news outlets made their own polls to try and guess the future results. SBC, who had the survey with the most voters, predicted in their exit poll that United Soviet States of Russian Imperial would be the one to win. While asked on SBC Live, political commentator Lashnakia and Azerubia stated that they didn’t really think the final results would be the same. Azerubia explained that Caduceo would probably get more votes during the elections due to his supporters being mostly kinda inactive citizens that didn’t see the poll when it was announced. But that when the election would start, they would not forget to vote. The CommUnity Newsletter, a Force Unity Party media outlet, obviously predicted the win of their leader, Caduceo.
Nothing to say much about the Debate since every candidate manages to answer their questions in time. While all this was happening, campaigning was raging on with the Prime Ministerial candidates sending telegrams to the citizens talking about their program and why people should vote for them. Both Bennisia and Caduceo were the ones that were mainly sending the telegrams and with the accord of the Founder both of them were even allowed to send a region-wide telegram. United Soviet States of Russian Imperial (Texas) wasn’t really campaigning a lot like the others but he had solid supporters which were the ones that were campaigning for him, oddly enough Texas wasn’t not campaigning because he was inactive but more because he didn’t really seem to believe in that strategy and instead talked more to voters personally. Sadly, we didn’t see any campaigning from Cumcision which reinforces the idea of him being a joke candidate. Caduceo was probably the one that was the most campaigning between him and Bennisia with him reminding voters to vote for him almost every day which like we said before annoyed a lot of people but paid off in the end. After being removed the right to hold a public office for 2 years while the election was ongoing, Bennisia decided to endorse Texas near the end in the hopes of making him Prime Minister instead of Caduceo. He stated that he did this because he trusted more Texas than Caduceo as PM due to him having worked with Texas in the New Western Empire before.
On the 11th of July, Caduceo was elected Prime Minister with a clear majority of 56.75% of the votes. United Soviet States of Russian Imperial came second with 24.32%, Bennisia followed him in third at 13.51% and Cumcision arrived last with 5.4%. As for the House results, everyone was elected with only Suter from RGBN gaining a vote against him. This vote was controversial in the Federalist Party as per inspection from Suter, the one that voted against him also voted for Caduceo for Prime Minister and abstained in his second, third and fourth vote meaning he was a big supporter of Caduceo and probably a Force Unity Party member. This election is currently the one with the highest number of voters in the history of Force with 38 nations going to the ballots to vote for their favourite candidate.
On the 10th of June, incumbent Prime Minister Sir Salibaic was reaching the end of his term and decided to do something special about it by resigning during the last day of his mandate. His goal was to make Deputy Prime Minister New Legland take the office of Prime Minister since he was the first in the order of succession if the PM ever resigned. We asked Sir Salibaic why he did this in the first place and he responded, “I decided to run because it was a meme dreamt up by me and few others and it was kinda funny so...”. Most people thought that nothing big would happen and that it would just be a fun day but that was to underestimate New Legland. In less than a day, New Legland appointed himself to every Cabinet position, refounded the Ministry of Defense and even abused a loophole that allowed him to make a non-citizen his Deputy Prime Minister and then resigned to let him become PM. So now for the first time in history, we had a non-citizen Prime Minister and his name was Tyjarvustivdorker. Representative Egm even managed to get in touch with the new Prime Minister and his answer wasn’t a particularly happy one. Obviously most people panicked because of that and the House lead by the incumbent Speaker, Empire of elysium, rapidly started the impeachment procedure. The House voted unanimously for his impeachment with only one absence with the provided reasons being his obvious lack of citizenship. Since he was now gone from the office of Prime Minister, the Speaker of the House was the one to take the power due to the order of succession and Tyjarvustivdorker not having any Deputy Prime Minister. Empire of Elysium quickly fixed the whole mess by dissolving the Defense ministry and appointing Sir Salibaic as his Deputy before resigning. Salibaic then appointed back every Minister and everything was back to how it started.
Fun facts concerning the whole event. June the 10th broke the record of the biggest amount of different Prime Minister in power during the same day with 4 (Sir Salibaic, New Legland, Tyjarvustivdorker and Empire of Elysium). During this day, we had the first Cheese Party PM (New Legland) and Force Unity Party PM (Empire of Elysium), Caduceo becoming the second Force Unity Party PM after the July general election but the first one to get elected. New Legland stayed Prime Minister for a mere 2 minutes before resigning and all that time was enough for him to create a constitutional crisis. Tyjarvustivdorker’s mandate lasted around 4 hours while Empire of Elysium was only in power for 4 minutes.
Earlier this month, we saw the General Elections occur, undoubtedly the most awaited type of elections as it sees the inauguration of Local House Reps and the Prime Minister of the Union, the highest seat of the Federal Government - and I was one of this month's candidates and was fortunate enough to win.
My name is Caduceo, and I am your new Prime Minister. It was a fun journey and I had some very well-rounded and challenging opponents, but I thank everyone extensively for supporting me, as well as going against me to give me a reason to strive harder. Though I can't name you all by name, know that you have my extensive gratitude and my love goes to you, thank you.
My campaign consisted of a few points I wanted to prioritize, which was later on reinforced in this plan I wrote earlier this month for what I wanted to achieve first. I am writing this article today to tell you that your support won't go to waste, as I promise to see our priorities through, as well as update you as what I've already done to progress; So let's tackle my plan step by step.
First off, what I've accomplished;
We have finished the Academia de Nocturna's foundation and am planning to start employing people to write for the Academy. All the dispatches that needed to be formatted are done so now it is time to put it into action. Expect more from it soon!
Our new Cabinet has been inaugurated and they are settling in nicely. We might see a few rearrangements in the future but overall, the Cabinet has set out their plans and are putting them into action as we speak! Besides that, they have released or are releasing their first progress reports and we have done our first Cabinet Meeting earlier this month.
In a more personal duty update, I am trying my best to maintain our population in this summer lull of recruitment by getting hands-on straight into Manual Recruitment, which will hopefully help everyone out.
What we're currently progressing on;
The Force's Forces card game has gone a bit slow but we've made very minimal progress by starting to name the cards we'll eventually introduce.
Our MoIA has started revamping the Newcomer's Manual to be more informative and hopefully they finish that as soon as possible.
Our MoFA is breathing life and activity into the Ministry and our Ambassadors are doing their jobs well!
Our MoComm is doing their usual epicness in producing this! And I heard they have other plans brewing ;>
Our MoC has done their usual with this month's Emoji Contest and hopefully we see more to come from other members of the Ministry
Our MoRP has also done their job quite well as far as I know and is perhaps one of our most self-sufficient Ministries
Plans to come;
Our WA Program is still in need of more development so hopefully we see more activity there in the future
As I said earlier, our Academia de nocturna is still in more need of progress so if you're interested in writing about what you're passionate or knowledgeable about, let us know!
Civil Dispatch soon™ *cough* Renegalle when
Once again, I thank you extensively for hearing me out and I hope you have a safe and wonderful day! This is your Prime Minister signing off.
On the 5th of July, Minister of Roleplay Sumeka submitted a case to the High Court, charging the Democratic People’s Party Leader Bennisia with Voter Fraud. Sumeka provided evidence that Bennisia had in fact attempted to undermine the recelt election. The Court subsequently accepted the case and began forming a jury. Bennisia demanded that the jury be changed twice, as well as the date and time of the trial. Bennisia attempted to forestall these proceedings by filing charges against both Sumeka and the High Court for false accusations and malfeasance, respectively. The Force vs Sumeka case was quickly dismissed, as bringing charges against a citizen is not a crime. As for Force v. The High Court, Renegalle formed a special committee to rule on the case's validity.
Both events were scheduled 2 days later on the 7th. The committee members were Qwertyuiopasdfghjklzxcvbnm 1234567890-, Heonix, and Marmotville. After reflection, the jury voted unanimously against proceeding with legal action, as they determined that there was no legal basis for a trial against the High Court. Finally, some hours later, Force v. Bennisia started with Chief Justice Tigslarlowducken presiding. The jury consisted of Trisword, Chundukeratopia, and Loomburg. The first part of the trial was fairly calm due to Bennisia's failure to attend his own trial. He later stated that he was drunk and was therefore unable to attend, but Sumeka and the Chief Justice Tigslarlowducken argued that he was warned of the time of the trial days ago and that it was his fault for not being there. In his absence, Sumeka had more than enough time to present his pieces of evidence and bring his witnesses. Among the evidence were numerous screenshots illustrating Bennisia’s wrongdoing to the jury. At this point, Tigslarlowducken opted to hold the trial so that Bennisia would have a chance to present his argument. On day 2 of the proceedings, Bennisia opted not to cross-examine or present evidence. However, he did present a closing argument. In essence, he claimed that the case was unconstitutional because it concerned internal party politics which are not mentioned in the Constitution and that offering positions in the government was not illegal and merely political strategy. He also stated that contrary to what Sumeka said he did not harass anyone since they never asked him to stop. He claimed the trial was all a conspiracy to make him fall since the establishment, he claimed, saw him as an evil force. Sumeka replied that nowhere in the Constitution are party elections exempt from the Constitution's voter fraud clause. Sumeka did not dispute the fact that offering governmental positions to supporters was legal, merely unethical. This article is only a summary of events and if you want to see the full trial transcripts go on the Force forums and you should easily find it. If you can't, join the Discord and someone will help you. (We are unable to link it directly as we believe the NationStates mods would consider this a violation of the site rules.)
After brief deliberation, the jury ruled that Bennisia was guilty of all charges presented. His right to vote has been revoked for one year and his right to run for a public office has been revoked for two years, a bitter end to his campaign for Prime Minister.
With newly elected Prime Minister Caduceo being elected, it was time for new faces to enter the executive administration as a cabinet was most likely to happen. During his campaign, Caduceo already released a plan of what FUP members he would appointing to his cabinet. It consisted of Loomburg being appointed Deputy Prime Minister instead of New Legland, in order to help him manage the region more easily, put Lashnakia as the Minister of Foreign Affairs to replace Sumeka and make United nations of colombia take up his office as Minister of Internal Affairs if he was to be elected.
Well, he was and he did appoint all of these people at their promised offices. For the other ministries, all of their incumbent Ministers were re-appointed meaning Federalists Sumeka and Azerubia would keep the ministry of Roleplay and Communications respectively while Independent Heonix would stay Minister of Culture.
Then, more than 2 weeks later, Caduceo made another big decision in the Cabinet by dissolving the Union Research Institute. The URI had been created under ex-Prime Minister Sir Salibaic to help the government know more about its citizens by creating weekly polls such as approval rating polls, political party alignment polls and etc. But after discussion with Chief Research Officer Pridnestrovskaia moldavskaia, they both decided it would be best to dissolve it since it was now inactive.
This month, RP minister Sumeka established a brand new RP in the RP server in order to boost activity, the 1855 RP. After polling for opinions on the server, and even holding a vote, a majority of RPers agreed that this was something they would like. The map is all hand-drawn by Sumeka, with resources being placed for balance instead of realism. Every nation starts with roughly equal stats, and they essentially have to work their way up in the world. All of the starting spots have been shrunk down as well, so no player controls huge swathes of land without some kind of drawback. Instead of being in an archipelago style like the main RP, this one has major continents with the occasional large islands. This prevents the “island obsession” that currently plagues RP. (For the most part, anyway.) All in all, it’s a lot more balanced and fair than the main RP and is excellent for new people who want to get into RP.

First off, what I've accomplished;
What we're currently progressing on;
The Force's Forces card game has gone a bit slow but we've made very minimal progress by starting to name the cards we'll eventually introduce.
Plans to come;
Our WA Program is still in need of more development so hopefully we see more activity there in the future

A look inside the Cabinet and the High Commission, a report from the Prime Minister and a new medieval roleplay - everything that you will find in this August's edition of the Force Flyer!
Good day once again, all you beautiful people out there! It's your Prime Minister Caduceo here for my monthly report. Since I'm required to release a report of my own every month as per the Freedom of Information Act, I've decided that I'll publish them in the Force Flyer for maximum transparency and reach!
Like my article last month, I'll also redirect you once again to this plan published during the start of my term and my campaign promises. This is the second month of my term and I'm quite happy to report some of the progress and future plans I have in store! Without further ado, let's dive into it!
What we've achieved:
Not much has moved with the Academia de nocturna except for the passing of the Academia de Nocturna Act, which legally provides the structure and bases for the Academy, and you can find that here. I will personally be taking up a few important topics and I suggest you do too!
Our population has stabilized around the ~170 mark during the summer lull and our recruitment methods are still doing the best they can and hopefully, we see that number rise relatively soon. Let's all hope for the best!
Our MoIA has added a segment to our Welcome Manual about the Discord server to let people be more aware of it and we have published a Civil Service dispatch which you can find here, and maybe even consider signing up!
Our former MoC Heonix resigned from his post and he was replaced with our current Minister of Culture, Sidervida. So far, they still need a bit more getting used to but they've helped arrange a Skribbl.io Contest, canceled the Emoji Contests, and I believe will help arrange more games for us to enjoy.
Sir Lashnakia has been appointed as an Advisor and a new MoFA, Oimatsu, has been appointed to take his place. Let us wish them good luck and hope he serves us well!
We've improved our RMB welcoming messages and they look quite organized and informative now.
What we're progressing on:
I will focus on publishing two more dispatches this month, one for the World Assembly information and another for our Graphics and Format Repository to ensure transparency and better quality of life.
Resume RMB questions as they seem to be a great source of activity and community interaction.
We will potentially see a Cabinet Meeting this month and a presentation I'll prepare for everyone, which will maybe reveal a new plan or two 😳
We have started preparing for N-Day and hope that we'll have a lot of fun when the event comes! For more info, drop by our Discord server or read this dispatch.
Our Ministries have been a bit quiet but honestly, most of us have been, though we're doing quite well.
What we're planning:
I've said it before and I'll say it again - World Assembly information will come soon.
A project for Comms will hopefully be unveiled soon but I won't say much for now. No promises, though!
A grand opening for the Academia de Nocturna is being planned when we have enough topics ready to be published. Join us so we can start up as soon as we can ;)
Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult seeing if the Force's Forces card project should move forward. Hopefully it will but it's rather blurry at the moment. We'll see what we can do but you can help out by joining us.
That should do it for the month of August! Thank you so much for hearing me out and I look forward to serving the rest of my term with you! Have a safe and wonderful day!
August was a pretty calm month here in Force. There was not any big news like what we could have sawn last month and we could feel that people were starting to get back to school or work as fewer and fewer people became active. This was also felt in the government as many citizens realized that it was also following the trend. But that didn’t mean that the government wasn’t doing anything. In fact, behind the curtains, big reforms administered by Prime Minister Advisor United soviet states of russian imperial, also known as Texas, were happening.
Texas had been the Prime Minister of the New Western Empire for two consecutive terms and is mostly known here in Force for having helped create the “Hootship” Treaty between Force and NWE under the second Salibaic administration. Texas had joined Force while he was still Prime Minister of NWE but really started to get implicated after he had to step down from running a third time due to the regulations put in place in the Constitution of NWE for the number of consecutive terms allowed.
When asked by the Force Flyer as to why he decided to start reforming some ministries, he stated, “If it isn't already well known, Force is a first for a lot of things due to the nature of expanding and challenging the ideas on the forefront of NS. Even throwing around the concept of Territories and a functioning Union is something not many regions get to, let alone implementing it. I had this in mind when Prime Minister Cad asked me to join him as a Prime Minister Advisor and one of the first things I did was take a 24 hour day and study. Study Force history and exact Culture and what I found was that Force has a trend of creating a new or existing idea, then moving on to another, forgetting about the previous idea, then what that idea fails making a new idea to fix it (i.e the High Commission was created due to a failure in the Internal Affairs Ministry for not advancing with the times and being operational, which is a failure in basically the Executive as a whole for not catching the failure of literally 90% of their job as listed in the Constitution which is tending to the needs of the Union). With this information in mind and the input from High Commissioner Salibaic the mission to reform the Ministries started as one to fix up the government as a whole. To challenge what can be done in our government and to try new ideas, much like how the Internal Affairs Ministry is taking a brand new approach to helping out Territories as much as possible. Now obviously not everyone is in favor of this change but we are always working to address every concern with these reforms no matter their region, rank, or importance.”
Texas’s work so far was mainly concentrated on two points, the Internal Affairs Restructuration Project and the Foreign Affairs Reorganization Project. Both were to add big changes to their respective institutions and plans were made to indicate what had to be done. The Internal Affairs Restructuration Project focused on the creation of committees inside of the ministry to better distribute their tasks between their civil servants. On the official plan drafted by Texas, there were 4 committees considered. The WA Committee whose task would be to ensure that nations in the Union would register to the World Assembly and record the fluctuations between the number of registered nations. The Union Stature Committee which would serve as a line that would help Territories voice their concern and suggestions to the Union government. The Recruitment Committee which as the name indicates would be the one in charge of recruiting new nations and finding new ways to attract them, they would also be the ones to organize the stamps and stamp fund. Finally, there would be the Specialty Committee which would be in charge of anything that falls under the Ministry of Internal Affairs but not into any of the existing committees. While the Internal Affairs Reorganization Project was made to help divide tasks between individuals of the ministry, the Foreign Affairs Restructuration Project was concentrated on changing the current positions held in the administration. The only big changes brought with the plan were the Diplomatic Councils supervised by Diplomatic Advisors. Diplomatic Councils would work as a group of ambassadors from different regions. Following the plan, these councils would ensure communications between the ambassadors and help them organize events between their respective regions and the Union. At their head, would siege one or multiple Diplomatic Advisor(s) that would be there to help organize the council and ensure their assigned ambassadors are doing their jobs.
As of the writing of this article, the Internal Affairs Reorganization Project has been signed by the Founder but has currently been put on hold due to judicial problems with the High Commission while the Foreign Affairs Restructuration Project has yet to have received this honour and may be subject to change. While in discussion with Texas, the Force Flyer has also learned that the Ministry of Culture and Communications should be the two next to be subject to Texas’s reviewing.
Something we all learn in life is that everything has a start and an end. Well, the Force Roleplay wasn't exempt from that and this month we saw the end and the beginning of another edition of the RP.
The 90s set roleplay which was once one of Force’s main regional attractions was discontinued after 6 months of loyal service. Minister of Roleplay Sumeka stated after being questioned by the Force Flyer on the reason for this sudden decision, “Well, in short, because I was not satisfied with the time skip. I did not realize that such a dramatic change in stats would occur, and so I decided the best course of action was to restart under a different time period. This time, I wanted to focus more on the roleplay aspect rather than the stats game. I put it up to a vote and the server agreed that a restart would be in order. And so I did it.”
The roleplay was once the most flourishing section of the Union but due to some recent events, it lost some of its momentum following some controversies which made it start to crash. The main problem that caused all of these were wars. Wars are normally an integral part of the roleplay but many people didn’t like it when it happened and just ended up quitting. This once caused a massive exile of members who were angry at the fact their nations were completely weak against some like Renegalle’s due to their stats. The roleplay didn’t help the small nations because most people didn’t actually try to defend them and that’s what started all of this. So, the most viable strategy for roleplay was just to invade your neighbours which gave you almost no repercussions and made you more powerful than ever. Because of that, multiple small nations decided to quit as they felt powerless against giant nations and just didn’t feel like playing because the game had turned into more of a battle royale than an actual roleplay. It wasn’t everyone that left but we could already sense inactivity setting in because of that.
A solution that was found to counter this inevitable doom was to do a time skip. With this, Sumeka hoped that interest in the roleplay but the problems it brought with it such as stats change inevitably were what caused its demise. Sensing the inevitable, a vote was then called to know what era was the new roleplay supposed to set in and the decision was made to go in the medieval ages, more precisely during the 1200s.
As a tribute to this roleplay who had helped us recruit so many nations, it was decided for it to go with a final boom and let everyone do their thing. Chaos was then unleashed as roleplayers started to create the most impossible scenarios such as Tigslarlowducken buying 50 million nukes, Len row creating a Bernie Sanders super-soldier capable of destroying entire armies and Premier Chip of Renegalle becoming a god. Some tried to escape from this hell that had become Earth but it was too late.
After that, the roleplay was halted for 3 days until the preparations for the medieval one were completed. As we are still at the start of it we can’t tell if it’s going to live up to its predecessor but we can see that the inactivity that hit the last roleplay before its last boom seems to try and settle again. This new roleplay is more diplomacy driven and we hope to see new nations join us at this conquest of the world.
Following the passage of Amendment 25 to the Force Constitution, a new government office was created with the intent to oversee the territories of the Union. Before that, this task was mostly given to the Founder of the Minister of Internal Affairs but as they didn’t have much time to do all that work, the High Commission was created. It has now been 2 months since it was created and the Force Flyer has decided to take a look at what it had done since its creation.
The current and only High Commissioner is Sir Salibaic. Salibaic had been selected to the office due to him being acquainted to work in the territories. He had been a House Representative for Heart, its First Minister and is now its Wolrd Assembly Delegate under the nation The Scottish Republic. It took almost 2 weeks for the High Commission to start working but it was mostly due to the fact it was lacking a discord channel where it could discuss its matters in privacy.
Another thing that was brought with Amendment 25 were the creations of Viceroys that would act as the delegate of each territory to the Union. The High Commissioner decided to appoint Viceroys only to the states since they were considered the only ones active enough. Both Aurhany and West intermarium were chosen by Sir Salibaic to act as Viceroys for Heart and RGBN respectively and with the benediction of the Founder, it was finalized. The High Commission also started organizing meetings between all territorial leaders to discuss matters such as population and the World Assembly. Currently, the High Commission is working on getting multiple things done and we should see more progress in the future. Most of their projects revolved around helping territories grow and help them communicate together such as helping the territories make their own recruitment and welcome telegram and also making a master factbook for each territory. Canterbury is probably the best example of that since they now have a brand new recruitment telegram and are starting to create a community. They have also been working with President Suter of RGBN to think about a way to create a legislative body in the region. Their biggest project of them all is certainly the Union World Assembly Exchange which should become the unified World Assembly program of the Union and help the World Assembly nations of the Union better communicate around the issues put up on vote.
For most of us, democracy is something we became accustomed to and we don’t realize how important it is and that we should be protecting and fighting for, as some people don’t even have the chance to live with it. Even in a game like NationStates, democracy should always be something we thrive for as it is what can most easily represent what the people, or in this case the community, want. But something as always bothered me in Force’s electoral system concerning the House elections.
In theory, the Force House elections can sound good, how they work is that each citizen has to give his approval to the candidates for the House in his region and if the candidates don’t get a majority of approval, he is not elected. If more candidates get a majority than the number of seats, it’s the one with the biggest majority who wins. Sounds great right? But the problem with that is that it allows what we call a tyranny by majority. For example, imagine Force has a population of 100 nations that are all divided between Faction A with 51 nations and Faction B with 49 nations. Continuing with that, let’s imagine the House of Representatives has 10 seats and that each faction submits 10 candidates for the elections in hope of having them all elected. Faction A can then decide to ask all their members to vote against Faction B’s candidates in the upcoming elections and vice-versa. Well, following Force’s democracy, all of the 10 candidates of Faction A would get elected with a 51% approval rating while Faction B’s candidates would all fail with a 49% approval rating. That would mean that the House, which is supposed to represent all the citizens of the Union, would be made of 100% of Faction A members even though they only represent 51% of the population. I know this is kind of an extreme example and nothing like that has ever happened to Force but it just shows you how much this democracy can be flawed.
So, I started asking myself what system could we use to fix these problems. At first, the most obvious answer would be to use a ranked-based ballot like what was used in the latest Prime Ministerial election. By doing this, the elections would concentrate more on the individuals than the parties and would let minority groups get some representatives elected but this method is not perfect. The main problem with this is that most of the time, the House Elections have fewer candidates than seats available meaning that with a ranked-based voting system, it would almost be certain that every candidate presenting themselves would get elected.
To try and find some other solutions, I decided to look at how other regions elect their legislative. I decided to see how the Pacifics and the New Western Empire (Force’s closest ally) worked. The Pacifics all follow a similar method to elect legislative with some regional differences. The legislative bodies in the Pacifics are not elected but in fact, every citizen is part of it or can easily join it. This system is helpful for them due to the sheer number of nations these regions host. It makes everything easier to manage and let citizens that could feel left out in the crowd of a thousand nations have the impression of their voice being heard. Force could probably use this with no problem politically but it creates a clash on the cultural side. The Union House as always been a simulation of legislative entities in countries and if it were to change to something like in the Pacifics, we would lose that simulation side of the House. At least, this system should be used for the states of the Union such as RGBN and Heart since they have difficulties having people be interested in representing their region and so having every citizen in their legislative would be a big help. On the other hand, the New Western Empire Senate is something very similar to the Union of Force House of Representatives and so their method would probably easier to implement. But how is the NWE Senate elected exactly? It’s simple, the New Western Empire uses a party-based electoral system to elect its Senators. Each party has to present a list of candidates in order of importance they are running and the citizens will vote for which party represents them and has the best candidates. Then, each party would receive a number of seats proportional to the percentage of votes they gained. For example, if there were 10 seats in the Senate and that Party A won 60% of the votes, they would get awarded 6 seats. Then, if they ran with a list of 10 candidates all in order, the top 6 would be the ones to join the Senate. This, in my opinion, would be the best choice to replace the current electoral system of the Union House. It would respect Force’s culture concerning the House and would allow minority groups to be represented more easily but without them being able to abuse it. The only disadvantage I could see for now would be that it would give parties a lot more power and would raise tensions between them. But in counterbalance, it would force more people to create their own parties and maybe even create some more choices than the current bland two-party system.
