What next?

Theresa Hay is returning home after the parliamentary meeting for the day. It was a challenging day, with by acrimonious criticism from none other than James Attendant, the deposed UDF leader. She seemed as though she had aged five years in a day because of her bloodshot, heavy eyes. Furthermore, the combat situation was not progressing as anticipated, which added to the extensive list of issues. She switched on SPBC 1 Live, So Pep's go-to radio station for all the newest songs and frequent news updates.

The prime minister was singing along to the music, and then it cut out.
"Breaking news just in from Buckingham Palace: Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III has been involved in a major traffic accident; police are inspecting the site; and emergency services have been contacted for three people. You will be kept informed."

Hay's facial expressions ceased. She barely avoided a collision herself as she continued to look blankly at the road. When she arrived home, she passed out in her husband's arms.

Riverian Isolationism Status

Sarah is watching the Inner Circle members debate heavily on internal issues that plague the nation. Suddenly someone bursts in.

"Sarah! Oh Sarah! You need to see this news!" She screams.

"Get this piece of petulant trash out of our office." Chester Mercia yells, already enraged.

"Hold on Ches, what is bothering you?" Sarah answers with a concerned look.

"The queen! Oh the queen! She was in a terrible crash!"

Sarah, wondering how she got past the guards, and how she got the news asks "Where? Who is it from?"

"The Peppian Queen!"

Sarah is shocked to hear. She orders the guards standing outside to escort the otherwise mentally unwell women outside the building.

"Sarah, wha..whats the plan?" Zoe Daniels asks in her mostly low and nervous voice.

"Continue the isolationism, maybe open up communications to make sure the Peppians are alright.."

When Sarah drives home that night, she sees the news slowly spreading through the streets. Boys selling papers containing the headline, So Pep sympathizers organizing rallies on the streets just to cry, Sarah does wonder if total isolationism is the true right choice.

When she is back home, greeted by her dogs, she lays down and watches the news. Her approval rating has dropped from 98% to 92% following her policy. She is not concerned, but perhaps she should reopen communications.

We send our condolences to Queen Elizabeth and wish her well. Also this is wrong as we all know Queen Elizabeth II never dies.

There was no point if my people have forgotten about it. Leaving no support along with the lack of solider morale plus many in the parliament are now against war. So yes you have been abandoned…

A nation of sorrow.

‘The Queen is dead’ is what the headlines of the morning’s tabloids read on June 29th 2119. Crowds gathered on the streets to pay respect to the late monarch’s body, driving through the street in order to go to her final resting place. Citizens were seen crying and collapsing on the floor as her cold cadaver passed them, hundreds of thousands of red roses, the queen’s favourite were thrown onto the street.

Theresa Hay was spotted driving to work, she looked 80, her eyes had bags under them and her lips were crusty and dry. Her skin looked wrinkled and pallid. The queen was dead, and with it, a crisis that So Pep is to remember for centuries was beginning.
