This is extremely important to remember. Nations should not be judged or attacked by others because of what a different nation did. Broken Edge should be allowed to say whatever they please but should not be used to attack Mondlicht States a nations beliefs, actions, and thoughts are their own and should not be used against a different nation.
I'm sorry, but i think I might have missed your point in some way; I assume that there possibly is a punctuation missing within the latter sentence. But I wouldn't like to assume because if I was wrong and said something, I think it would honestly make me look like an idiot lol
I believe you and Saturnalia collude for power, which is why they went so ballistic when you didn't get elected. It was much too much of an explosive reaction over you not getting the seat.
You also haven't answered the challenge to vow to give up your WA Delegate seat if you're elected Caesar. What say you?
I posted all the telegrams I sent and received from Saturna1ia and Lennia. It was not a conspiracy or a master plan to somehow get power, which the censor has relatively little, I just didnít know what I did would end the way it did as the Caesar and a nation that was active for a long time told me I could do something and he was wrong. I have apologized and will again if needed. I did not stand in the way of the region when it was decided what I did was wrong and not allowed and I have moved passed it. I donít know why Saturna1ia did what they did. I didnít know them very well and didnít see anything like that happening. I did not endorse their actions and still donít.
As for stepping down if elected, youíll have to wait for my next post when I talk about my plan more when I have a bit of time.
I would like to ask the more senior members for the region, is there any precedent that a delegate has stepped down if elected to another seat in office?
You know I do.
Aclion was our first Caesar, TPPOL was elected sometime last year, and Ultorieth was appointed a few years ago, the Magister Equitum is not an elected position.
And as to nations holding more than one position, it has not really happened since before the proclamation of the new order. In the earliest days of Oatland our delegate served as the regional administrator as well, effectively a blend of the current Caesar and Delegate positions, and for some time during the revolt against Lisbonia I had to take the reins over the whole region while we reorganized to ensure such tyranny wouldn't happen again. But I gave that up following the completion of the reorganization.
If I had to say I'd say that should set a precedent of division of powers ever since the current constitution was put into place.
So are you saying if I become Caesar I must step down as delegate or that it would be proper to do so? And if I am to step down how would I even achieve that? Resign from the WA I guess is the easiest way. However with me stepping down would bring about my opponent Mondlicht States becoming the delegate. I also have more than twice the amount of endorsements as them so I donít really see why this makes a lot of sense. I know this is all theoretical but Iíd rather know whatís going to happen now then after the election and cause problems again
There's nothing saying you have to step down, but I'd say doing so would be more in step with previous actions than maintaining both. The only way to do so would be to reduce your endorsements or as you said, leave the WA temporarily. Whether you choose to do so or not is up to you, I'm not going to arbitrate until it becomes a problem.
Well it does seem that whatever decisions will be made and any outcome that may happen, the region will continue to be held in good hands. I wish everyone the best of luck going into the future, and that we will continue to recieve the blessings of democracy.
And a reminder to all senators who wish to see the region lead the way they want, go up there and vote. Always remember to make an informed decision not clouded by personal bias.
I believe that These United Socialists should not have to step down as WA delegate if they are to win. It just seems counter productive. If the people want them to be the delegate and Caesar then why not? Being elected as Caesar is way different then the WA delegate position.
Furthermore, if you donít want them to be our delegate, run against them. I want to see you try...
Neither position can have an abuse of power with the new adjustments put in place. I see no problem with it.
And letís cut it out with the conspiracy theories please and thank you. Letís keep the past in the past.
To be honest i'm not really sure what i'm voting for.
The Nation of Colande officially endorses The Federal Republic of Mondlicht States for the position of Caeser.
I must respectfully disagree with you on this one. If anything Saturna1ia showed why so much power should not be given to one nation, regardless of how noble that nation is. Besides, the office of Caesar is a far grander one than that of WA Delegate, and we could still discuss the issues in the WA on the RMB. Ultimately, I believe it should be up to the Augustus to arbirtrate on such a matter. Let's not count our chickens before they hatch though, there is no telling who will win the election....
My point stands. If you do not want them to hold both positions, simply run against them. If they arenít a great enough nation someone such as yourself should be able to beat them.
The biggest problem I have with them having to step down as our WA Delegate is that someone who had not even campaigned would take office. Thatís not how it should work. Thatís not democracy.
I believe that they are certainly worthy of being. Caesar, yet I think that no nation should hold more than one office, as it could lead to many complications.. Also the WA delegate isn't exactly voted for in the same way that other positions are, so it wouldn't really be undemocratic, as it's gained through endorsements anyways..
