Just so you're aware, The arken Ariblanca the summit is on the forum.

Trains came before cars.

For a society that once had spaceships you would think they would remember how to make something as simple as basic modern medicine. Making all of this make sense doesn't matter, it's a clean slate, I say you should probably forget whatever lore you're going for.

As for tech/era, we need to stick to an era. We can't have tech from 1700-1900 as its too far a part. I recommend we pick an area then decide if we want a complex/in-depth tech system or a more streamlined simple system. I think the 1800s would be a fun time period, so Napoleonic/American Civil War esc era, or maybe early 1900s so WW1. 1700s would be fine, but is more bland than 1800s. 1600s is just high medieval era and global RPs don't make sense.

Edit: GV made me a 1920-1940s tech tree, but it was on the same level of complexity as our old and Im unsure that most people actually easily understood the system, so we could make a new one if we choose a new era or wanted a more simpler system.

This being said, when it comes to warfare, I don't think anyone did it better than Gothic vandelia. If he isn't busy and is up to it, I know he invested elsewhere now, we may be able to convince him to moderate wars every now and then. I'd like some feedback from the region and when GV sees this hopefully he can message one of us saying if he is interested/willing, or would rather not be involved.

I thought we were going for like 16th century-ish.

Would Vikings in the modern day be considered terrorists?

Yeah, they're just pirates.

I would like us to be based in the 1800s era of resources. Trains, old weapons, industrial revolution..

Overtime, countries will "discover" or revolutionize new ideas and inventions, groundbreaking stuff for Lucidum.

There's no lore I necessarily want to follow-- it's more of that I don't want to hear people crying about what happened to their OP spaceships and satellites.

This is not futuristic or modernized, at least not modernized yet.

Airol wrote:Yeah, how are our delegates getting from one place to the other? Are we flying planes? Trains? Boats? Horse Drawn Carriages?

Definitely not planes. Trains would be necessary. (Could make for some good war tactics hint hint)

Trains don't make much sense for cross-country travel unless those trains go straight through a lot of unclaimed territory.

Pegasi.

A new popular religion has swept the mountains, the simple name of "Laoji". It's prophet, Lao Naji, is a charismatic religious leaders saying the gods have blessed him with teachings. These teachings are of compassion, general restrain from violence and caring for the poor. Which, of course, has brought many of the poorer mountaineers into it, and like that, a new silent religious tension is born.

Though, in Partana, the capital, life is good. The port which sits in a vital spot brings trade and cash with it. And recently, a small scale mining boom in the mountains has brought new settlers.

I have no idea if you were thinking the same thing, but you can make a Istanbul-esque City, taling over both sides of that strait and forcing Osterheide to pay taxes like Turkey does with Armenia, Romania, Ukraine, Russia, and Bulgaria.

That's the plan, although for now it's open areas. For now.
