That's normal to get a couple times of year in Mass. We got a storm like that back around Christmas. I feel like I've missed out if we go a whole winter without one.

On the other hand, when it happens once or twice a week, every week, for 5 or 6 weeks in a row, that's too much.

Depends on where the seven to ten inches lands. Dry powder in a place where that much is normal, they can handle it. Other places, that could close a town down instantly. Hope that it is not heavy wet snow.

We got a doozie of a storm on Christmas (at least in the Western part of the state) a few years ago. I think it ended up being about a foot of snow when it was all done.

I bet that was pretty. Western NC has some nice scenery and whatnot anyway, and snow just makes everything look peaceful and cozy.

It was quite the picturesque scene for sure.

Go Tar Heels!

Condemn The Black Hawks -- what good would that do? If these things actually had any teeth to them, maybe I would support the resolution, but all it would do is give them another badge of honor.

Yeah, I automatically vote down every condemnation for that exact reason.

On a separate note:

6 Teams!
Our state sent 6 Teams to the NCAA Tournament.

If you're a basketball watcher, be sure to send some love to:

Davidson
Duke [boo :P]
NC Central
NC State
UNC Chapel Hill
UNC Greensboro

United republican states

Go heels!!!!

Excited to see UNCG actually in the mix for once.

Close one for UNCG. Darn

The rest of NC had a pretty bum opening weekend as well.

At least we didn't lose to a 16 seed, though.

This current set of WA votes has me perplexed.

On the one hand, I don't mind seeing Nazi regions disrupted. On the other hand, I absolutely detest the raider/defender "game" and I don't really want to contribute to it by opening up a region to be invaded.

Raiders have a few screws loose, but they're better than Nazis.

And then there was none. Sad to see UNC and Duke out, I had Duke in my final four. (I'm a UNC fan, so I can't say I'm that to see Duke lose.)

I'm collecting NC cards, let me know if you spot any.

So far I have:
Astrolinium
Carolinas
Conkle
Ericsen

I have Ericsen, just put it up for sale.

You drive a hard bargain, but I'll take it.

Hmm, we seem to have picked up a few nations. Whether you are here for the card event or just here in general: Welcome! We hope you enjoy your time here in North Carolina.

Hi, thanks for the welcome! Joined a week or so ago because I didn't like the big regions and I live in NC. Looks cozy here, and I'm amused by several of the country's themes and names.

Mountain man of appalachia

Oh wow Mountain man of appalachia, you found 4 New Picons. That's kinda funny.

Yeah, I just keep getting them. I have your card if you need it.

Nice. It is a quiet region, but it's pleasant enough. I keep my nation here because North Carolina is the RL location of the shipwreck of USS Monitor.

Thanks, I bought my card already.

Mountain man of appalachia

I wish I could buy my card... Woe is the life of a mod.
