The Troopers waited about five minutes before coming antsy. “Perhaps she’s one of the Rebels who found an escape and was checking the path ahead. Now she’s returning to tell the rest?” one Trooper suggested.
“Maybe, either way we must inform Command. Activate our beacon and fill them in.” the Leader replied.
Each Trooper activated their homing beacon to signal HQ of their positions. “HQ, this is Shadow Squadron D2i6. We think we found a possible escape/entrance from the sewers leading to the rebel base. We request reinforcements.” one Trooper radioed in.
“Negative, all nearby units are currently in action. Blow the entrance, make sure no one can get in or out. Continue your search in the woods.” HQ responded.
“You got to be kidding me..,.” One trooper announced.
“You heard him. Blow it, now.” the Leader ordered. All the troopers began chucking thermal detonators inside the manhole once removing the lid.
Before they armed their detonators, there was a frantic knocking on the manhole cover and it slightly slid off. “Wait, Wait!” A voice called out. “I surrender! Don’t shoot!”

Bob: well that was un expected so looks like they gave you folks some more choices for the election in 2 months

Anyways thats all for now
The Shadow Troopers were caught off guard, some nearly dropping the detonators. “Freeze!” One of the Troopers announced. The rest raised their blasters and readied for an engagement.
“Get that manhole open.” the lead Trooper ordered. Two of the other Troopers began sliding the cover off, while three others covered. After the manhole cover was removed, the two Troopers lifted whoever was on the ladder out of the sewers.
Velvet had her arms up as she was taken out of the manhole. “I’m an FSB agent, don’t shoot,” she said.
“What’s a FSB agent doing running around the woods...Where were you going and how did you know of this manhole?” The Lead Trooper questioned. The other surrounding Shadow Troopers began deactivating their cloaks, blasters still pointed at Velvet.
“I’m under orders by the President to locate the resistance and report to him directly,” Velvet said. “There’s a large network of sewers that runs around the city and this area is just one tunnel.”
They had uncloaked themselves, which would make this next part easier. Any moment now...
“Alone...They sent you to search the entire network by yourself.” The lead Trooper replied, not really buying it.
Before she could properly respond another trooper chimed in, ”Doesn’t matter, we have orders to blow this hole, so.”. A couple of the Troopers looked at the leader, who nodded at them. Four of them then began throwing the detonators down the manhole.
“Wait, there’s-!” She couldn’t stop them in time. However, to her surprise, the thermal detonators suddenly popped back up out of the manhole, causing her reflexes to kick in as she dived away from the explosion radius.
The scene they witnessed inside the nebulae was alarming. They had expected to see a few ships at best. Instead, an entire armada greeted them, surrounding a large space station.
“I certainly wasn’t expecting this,” Rifana said.
“We’ll be alright...assuming they don’t recognize this as the Supreme Chancellor’s ship,” Raphtalia said.
“Station, this is the Nightingale, requesting permission to land,” Rifana said into the ship’s speaker.
“Nightingale, you are cleared for landing Hangar Bay 2.”
My flag... :(
Heyyyyy. Where’s my citizenship?
I'll be in the map soon, prepare carefully !
Alice, after sometime not giving a public speech, prepare all the set for this. Now fully recovered from an old terrorist attack, that ended up being so serious, that the hole country completely closed it's borders, and the rest of the world now didn't now anything about Linkopingist Barius, not even their borders. Sitting in her chair, Alice looks directly for the camera in front of her, the Minister of Foreign Relations and most reliable person of the cabinet in the vision of Alice, Stefan Rudenko, is standing by her side, with a bit of concern in his face, but Alice don't realize that, and continues to look at the camera.
"Are you sure that everything is gonna be okay? It's been a while since you have done this." Says Rudenko, looking directly on her eyes. Alice just looks at him for a second, before getting into her original position, and saying this words: "I don't have a choice, and even if i had, i would have done it anyway".
The stage is set, Alice looks at the camera, that starts streaming live for all the world.
"After some intense political, and internal affairs, finally, we, The Republic of Linkopingist Barius, are opening borders for the rest of the world. Terrorism might have done some damage to our nation, but that will not stop us from rebuilding our nation! We already found the terrorist organization, that lead to brutal and immoral attacks on the state, and the people of this republic. Most of them are already in prison, now, without them in our path, we can rebuild the nation again, and finally recover from our bloody civil war. We are open for any negotiations from other nations, diplomacy is a crucial part of a nation these days." She stops for some seconds, before start talking again. "We wish you all that are seeing this, a good day."
The camera stops streaming, and Alice simply gets up from her chair, and walks out of the room with Rudenko.
(This is basically a "i'm back" message xD)
GA Presidential Election is open!
Remember you can view the candidates' list and campaign dispatches here:
Election: September 25-27, 2020 (48 hrs)
Term: September 2020 – December 2020
You may stand until the openings of the poll. To be safe, stand before or on the 24th of September.
The Est Volirum OIN
Only citizens, or individuals who have (re)applied and been successfully accepted as citizens before the 22nd of September may vote. May the best win!
I would like to express my support for Volirum for GA President and argue against reopening nominations.
First and foremost, Volirum is an excellent candidate and statesman, who has served at the highest reaches of government and in the Court as Public Attorney. He is regularly online on-site and on Discord and cares quite a bit about the General Assembly's success. Perhaps most of all, he's been around long enough to have an effective understanding of our laws and institutions. I trust him to do an excellent job in this new role.
Of course, not everyone who votes "against" him is actually against the candidate, and they may not oppose my claims. However, I contend that reopening nominations would not be good for our General Assembly. Nominations opened ten days ago, and before Volirum declared a few days prior, we were almost left without a single candidate running in this election. Indeed, one candidate is unideal, but if no other candidate spoke up for 10 days, what do we expect to happen with a reopened nomination? I do not have much confidence that we will see any new contenders. All it would do is leave our GA without leadership and force legislation to grind to a halt. We cannot force this sacred democratic institution to stop functioning because of an unrealistic expectation that we can have a competitive election (in this case, anyway).
As unfortunate as it is, there seems to be not much interest in the position, and I would rather it be filled than not at all.
Huh a lot of people came back.
We nuke nations that nuke anyone in the potato alliance
