No treaties or conventions though. I suppose it’s a case by case issue with regards to each nation. Your diplomats have standard diplomatic immunities in Athretvari. :)

As far as who you can relations with, anyone you like including NPCs or unrecognized “tribes”.

I find it weird that I think I'm one of the few with relations with NPC nation's.

Athretvari has relations with a few, but I’ve been bad at rping about them. Besides Hi’why’yea and Fri Athka, we also have relatively good relations with the leadership of Rei’tro Sahveg tribe up north of us. We sell them tech, and we buy their “jungle treasures”. Although the regular Rei’tro tribesfolk tend to think we’re a bunch of “blue witches”. Not for any good reason though.... ;)

I constantly forget there is an NPC just north of me.

Looks like the first priority of Croxoconian foreign policy will be to standardize and codify the rules regarding diplomatic relations.

Do you all have treaty titles by the way? For instance, the Sovereign of the United Kingdom is, for the purposes of diplomatic relations, referred to as Her Britannic Majesty, and treaties concluded by the British Government with say, the United States for example, are not treaties between the United Kingdom and the United States, but rather, treaties between Her Britannic Majesty and the United States. Like wise, it is not the "Embassy/Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the United States", but rather, "Her Britannic Majesty's Embassy/Ambassador to the United States". Conversely, it is not the "Embassy/Ambassador of the United States to the United Kingdom", but rather, the "Embassy/Ambassador of the United States to the Court of St James's".... indicating it is not a diplomatic mission to the Government as a whole, but rather, to the Sovereign herself, whose royal court is called the Court of St James's (St James's Palace has been the senior Palace of the British Monarchy since Whitehall burned down in 1698... even though the Monarch resides in and holds court at Buckingham Palace, St James's Palace remains the seat of the Monarchy). So, the way I see it, Croxoco can be boring by:
- Sending Ambassadors of Croxoco to Foreign Nations
- Receiving Ambassadors of Foreign Nations to Croxoco

Or, Croxoco can be unnecessarily pompous, self-important, and, so to speak, "up its own a*se" by:
- Sending His Croxoconian Majesty's Ambassadors to Foreign Nations
- Receiving Ambassadors of Foreign Nations to the Court of St Charlesburg

I vote “Pompous!” all the way.

My Grand Duke is probably the Grand Duke of both/either of Midgar and 46566. The proper name of my country could be the Grand Duchy of 46566 or Midgar. The formal name of my country is 46566 while Midgar is used more often as our native population is called Midgari.

I wouldn't mind formalising things like a Delta international court or even sports organizations. Maybe expand or create a trade organization and IMF to allow our nation's to send complaints and give rulings. It could give us more branches to rp then war.

While there is no enforcement branch for the outcomes it could get people to work together to find ways to encourage follow through. Mass agreement to divert trade for example and selected embargo.

My first reaction to the diplo title thing was "hah, silly imperials with their silly pompous titles." Then I remembered my nations diplo protocol is to sign contracts with nations and exchange liaisons... So, welp.

An international sports organization would be amazing, personally I'm more interested in RPing sports than war

Republic of Guadalajara

We're game, but only if the programme includes the following sports:

- Chess
- Azad
- Coding Game Jam
- Terraforming Mars (The Board Game)
- Terraforming Mars (For Real)
- Magic: The Gathering (Any non-casual format will do)
- Competitive Bake-Off

and of course

- Endurance Minecraft

Chat with St Saratoga — our resident sports-RP guru.

I’m all in if there’s a type speedcar/hypercraft racing.

The Copper States

I wouldn't mind some magic the gathering. Probably my favorite game

Most of our RPs are diplomatic in nature I think. It's mostly redrawing the balance of power and protecting the nation's trade interests. You could always find someone to do something with.

Ya know this got me thinking about my corps. Rather than having a national sports team for myself, I could use my various companies to sponsor different teams. Like Deguchi Logistics could sponsor my car racing team and Harmony could sponsor my hockey/mma fighters. Interesting stuff here.

Why not have each corporation run a soccer league and the like. Each corporate department could have a team like harmony janitorial vs harmony human resources. It's not Harmony's fault they recently hired 4 professional players as consultants in their janitorial department. Maybe have a "independent" league of minor businesses. Your major league cup is the champions of each corporate leagues and runners up plus the sole independent league winner playing for the corporate cup or something. Imagine seeing Harmony playing another corporate team and imagine the gambling possibilities.

How was everyone’s weekend?

Athretvari wrote:How was everyone’s weekend?

Super busy. Can’t wait for some days off after a couple weeks straight of work.

Athretvari wrote:How was everyone’s weekend?

Pretty decent. Worked Saturday. Got into a new game on Sunday. Overall, cool but now I got TGs to answer.

Fairly productive, drafted various foundation treaty proposals aiming to establish diplomatic relations in Delta. Also wrote a hell of alot of a work of constitutional theory and debate I've been working on for a while, in what is shaping out to be a thoroughly extensive analysis and evaluation of the British Constitution (yes, it may not be codified, but us brits still have a Constitution). Presently just hammering out the organization of the executive branch of my nation's government.

That’s something I’d enjoy reading. I find the UK’s government fascinating. I love how much of its complexity is a reflection of the country’s history and evolution. I’ve styled Athretvari’s complex system along the same idea—complex as a direct reflection of its evolution.

My semester ends in roughly two weeks so dealing with final projects and exams

Something I've been working on yesterday and today: A sample analysis of 6 nations. If there is sufficient interest, I'll do this weekly, though I'll include all NCON nations in the sample, not just the 6 I have here:

Defence Forces (%ofSampleTotal):
1. Athretvari ~30k = (37.5%)
2. Moarfall ~16k = (20.0%)
3. Saratoga ~14k = (17.5%)
4. Midgar ~12k = (15.0%)
5. Croxoco ~4k = (5.0%)
6. Nedea ~4k = (5.0%)

Economic Strength (%ofSample):
1. Midgar: 17,559 Trillion = 32.6%
2. Athretvari: 11,589 Trillion = 21.5%
3. Nedea: 8,550 Trillion = 15.9%
4. Saratoga: 5,449 Trillion = 10.1%
5. Croxoco: 5,390 Trillion = 10.0%
6. Moarfall: 5,321 Trillion = 9.9%

Average Income:
1. Athretvari: $620,910
2. Midgar: $563,397
3. Nedea: $377,241
4. Moarfall: $336,365
5. Croxoco: $258,533
6. Saratoga: $247,789

Average Disposable Income:
1. Midgar: $563,357
2. Nedea: $377,241
3. Moarfall: $336,365
4. Croxoco: $153,568
5. Saratoga: $80,531
6. Athretvari: $0

Def. Spending (Trillions/%ofSample/%GDP):
Athretvari: $566 / 35.77% (4.89% of GDP)
Saratoga: $310 / 19.59% (5.68% of GDP)
Midgar: $296 / 18.71% (1.67% of GDP)
Moarfall: $257 / 16.25% (4.81% of GDP)
Croxoco: $89 / 5.63% (1.66% of GDP)
Nedea: $64 / 4.05% (0.77% of GDP)

Analysis:
- Midgar/46566 is clearly the foremost great power when it comes to economics; that being said, the economic strength of Athretvari and Nedea is nothing to be scoffed at. Midgar and Athretvari also dominate when it comes to average income, though with 100% income tax rates in place, the personal prosperity of the citizens of Athretvari is non-existent.

- In terms of military strength, Athretvari is the foremost military power with military spending at 35.77% of the total defence spending of the sample; this being said, in real life, the USA accounts for 47.1% of worldwide military spending, so Athretvari has quite a way to go in the event it decides to seek military hegemony on Enkon. Moarfall, at number 2. on defence forces and number 4. on defence spending is clearly the most efficient at converting economic strength into military power. Meanwhile, given its superior economic prowess, Midgar/46566 is somewhat of a sleeping giant in terms of military strength... raising its defence spending from 1.67% of GDP to 3% may be enough to raise it to the number 2. spot on defence forces... though if it also manages to achieve the levels of efficiency enjoyed by Moarfall's military-industrial complex, Midgar could shoot into first place.

- Given the distribution of military strength and economic power between the 6 nations I have chosen to sample, preliminary analysis indicates a relative balance of power between the 6 nations in question, tilted in favour of Athretvari and 46566. However, when one considers the Kredit Union, and the relatively close cooperation between the three nations thereof (Nedea, Moarfall, Saratoga), the international balance of power is weighted heavily in favour of the KU. I look forward to monitoring this, and further samples, so as to update you all on the international balance of power. You never know, some of you may want form alliances, or alter the economics and gov't spending of your nations to either preserve or revise the balance of power. Given that no nation or faction has an unchallenged hegemony in economic or military strength, Croxoco is perfectly happy to remain neutral. That will change if one nation or alliance threatens to overturn this balance.

Croxoco wrote:-snip-

Very nicely done! We approve.

I will note that as a socialist country with an AI-guided economic system, Athretvari is practically a cashless society. The government “captures” all transactions, but only keeps about 23.5% of it, about the same percent that our govt spending is to overall GDP. The rest is passed on to the recipient as a type of “credit” that can then be used as needed—companies to pay for inputs and salaries, workers to pay for what they need, etc. The Athcoin is used almost exclusively for accounting purposes. While the average Hrenvari doesn’t ever have any “cash” on hand, they do have the ability to go online or walk into a distribution center, aka department store, and basically just grab stuff valued at upto 76.5% of their “salaries”. (Not counting the credits used for their chose of housing and so on.)

“... Athretvari has quite a way to go in the event it decides to seek military hegemony on Enkon.“ — We’re working on it.

Currently compiling a report on the entire region (minus those nations which are too small to have any meaningful effect on the analysis at the moment). I've already gathered all the necessary data and am currently in the process of ranking the nations. Analysis and evaluation will follow thereafter. I should be posting within the next few hours.

Alright folks, I have here the first part of my first NCON regional report on the balance of power in the region. Smaller nations have been excluded from this report because they are too small at this moment in time to pose any risk of altering the balance of power.

*Nations are ranked according to their Military-Industrial Complex Efficiency, that is, the level of efficiency at which their share of NCON defence spending converts into their share of NCON military stength. Highly ranked nations have higher military strengths relative to defence spending, with lower ranked nations having lower military strengths relative to defence spending. Nations with a conversion rate of 100% or higher are efficient, nations with a conversion rate lower than 100% are not efficient.

NCON power rankings:**
1.) Athretvari: 2,030
2.) 46566: 1,865
3.) Saratoga: 1,050
4.) Moarfall: 925

**Nations are scored according to their shares of NCON economic output and military strength, and then ranked according to those scores. Power in this measurement is relational; for one nation to gain power relative to another, that other must lose power.

Analysis and evaluations based on these stats will be posted later (once I've finished writing them).
