Lorania House of Commons Regional Message Board

Aye
Nay- probably shouldn’t have crimes laid out in the constitution, should be common law.
I shall place my vote FOR this constitutional amendment.
In my role as the Speaker of this House, I proclaim that the Abuse of Power Constitutional Amendment will be adopted after receiving support from two MPs (Ogliacia and
Sail Nation) and opposition from one MP,
2-4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid.
Cousethii and
Longbania did not vote. Since the bill received support from the two-thirds of MPs required, it therefore passes.
I further call to attention Lorania's Members of Parliament (aforementioned) for debate on a rewrite of the Proposed Amendments to Loranian Constitution - that have once again been authored by Matroyska and sponsored by Sail Nation - which shall commence immediately and conclude at approximately 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time on Monday February 22nd 2021:
Recognising that parts of the Constitution are unclear regarding the end of terms for officials, and hoping to make this clearer
Hereby proposing the following amendments to the Loranian Constitution:
Addition of a clause (9) following clause 8, to read: 'The Prime Minister and their cabinet's terms shall end, and all their powers shall be stripped from them, on the second Wednesday of every January, April, July and October, one week before the new Prime Minister is elected. This is to prevent a member of the cabinet having an advantage in the election campaign from their current power. Once the cabinet is dissolved, no member of it may make any official decisions or changes to Lorania. In case of an emergency arising in this period that would usually require a decision from the Prime Minister, it shall go to the Chief Justice instead.'
Addition of a clause (10) following clause 9, to read: 'The term of the MPs in the House of Commons shall end on the second Wednesday of every January, April, July and October; one week before the election for Prime Minister is held, and two weeks before the new House is elected. This is to prevent any MPs who wish to run for Prime Minister using their position in the House to advance their campaign. Once the House is dissolved, all MPs including the Speaker are relieved of their authority and may not debate on or pass any bills until two week later, when they may be re-elected to their position in the new version of the House.'
Amendment to clause 1 to read: '...approved by a simple majority of voting MPs, who shall not hold any other office in Lorania. If the House does not approve the Prime Minister's nominee, the Prime Minister must nominate another nation for the position, who must also be approved by the House before assuming the role.
Addition of a clause (2) following clause 1, to read: 'The Chief Justice's term shall end on the fourth Wednesday of every January, April, July and October, on the same day as the new House of Commons is elected; then the Prime Minister's new nominee shall be voted on and approved/disapproved by the House. During the week between a new Prime Minister being elected and their Chief Justice nominee being approved, the previous Chief Justice may not be removed from power.'
Author: Matroyska
Sponsor: Sail Nation
I support this amendment for the same reasons as when it was previously proposed, but there is also the advantage that the issues raised in previous debate being fixed after it was rejected.
For my full view on this, refer back to the previous debate on this.
I, as the Speaker of this House:
preclude the earlier debate on the (re-)Proposed Amendments to Loranian Constitution with immediate effect;
further proclaim that voting on this Constitutional amendment shall commence immediately and conclude at approximately 20:45 Greenwich Mean Time on Friday February 26th 2021; and
apologise for my belatedness.
I call to attention Lorania's Members of Parliament: 2-4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid,
Cousethii,
Longbania,
Ogliacia, and
Sail Nation.

There is no urgent business that needs to be discussed at this time. 2-4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid is reminded that only bills in complete or final draft form should be submitted to the Commons.
Ok. This is stupid. I would like the House of Commons the debate the bill and tweak it as it goes along. Though I should add, that as it stands, this bill is legal, and could pass, and is there gore complete.
I don’t know where lorania came up with its House of Commons procedure, but it is definitely off.
