Monsmearc wrote:My condolences to your economy. It's not dramatic at all - my culture IRL places great importance to fish in the economy and having that get attacked indiscriminately would be harrowing. Would be curious to see how many votes 'Abstain' gets per proposal!

Good idea! We could debate on the social issues some of these proposals talk about and reach a regional recommendation from there, of course the choice would ultimately be left to the individual. To be fair though, the World Assembly, other than our economies, seems to have little impact on our day-to-day lives. I won't jump into political nihilism though with that talk.

I could suggest our region possibly expanding our diplomatic influences - building more embassies with regions who align with our ideals and are able to collaborate and expand our goal of liberty and democracy, this way we can have more inter-regional influence and speak more on WA affairs.

Communist Lukania wrote:NationStates mods, please add an abstain in the WA, and please make it that if I don't vote, keep me as abstaining! Literally went on my stats when I had finals, apparently there was an anti-trout fishing policy that the website thought my nation voted "for" and destroyed my economy and trout fishing industry. BRUH. Sorry, I think I'm being a little too dramatic. I should just invest into other industries instead probably.

And a proposal for the LDA, how about we begin to be more involved in the World Assembly? Collectively deciding on what proposal to vote on, and which WA proposal we should approve of.

Wait what? Does WA proposals actually affect your economy?

page=WA_past_resolution/id=725/council=1 - Industry Affected: Trout Fishing

Example - I had finals, NS Website decided to do WA and when you're inactive during a WA session, it makes your nation vote for. Then my trout fishing industry dramatically declines. nation=communist_lukania/detail=trend?censusid=15

That's pretty suspicious...

Reject the WA brothers and we shall fish once more!

I would like to possibly leave the World Assembly because of their irrationally black and white decisions and 0 ability to abstain. However, I am concerned if resigning from WA would mean renouncing LDA citizenship, which is something I am not up for.

Ideally, we would not need the World Assembly - the foremost reason for this system is to prevent voter fraud. However, the best way to circumvent this is to transfer WA membership to a puppet account and inform the Founder account of the change. This way, you can maintain your citizenship without having the World Assembly so 'kindly' intervene where it is not needed!

No more New Sylvaner trout fishing business, resulting from WA intrusion. New Sylvan is considering withdrawal from the so-called world body, which was under consideration once before, but abandoned, owing to intra-regional persuasion. And New Sylvaner economy was not then hit with the likes of this latest WA legislation. Down from membership to residency would have minimal effect, as New Sylvan traditionally avoids regional government affiliation outside of voting - which of itself supports the system anyhow. Don't get me wrong, we New Sylvaners are grateful for what LDA provides ..a liberally democratic constitution and honest government leadership. We are a simple people, living life simply~Tristram Black

*Correction: "New Sylvan traditionally avoids regional government affiliation outside of voting - which of itself is participation in the system anyhow." In the original post I misused the word supports. Of course we New Sylvaners support the governmental system - affording us the democratic culture we enjoy~Tristram Black

Sargk, is there any possibility of an extension of LDA external affairs in the sphere of diplomatic missions and embassy building with collaboration between regions?

I'd say we already do that with for example Newtown, Democritus or JEFF. There is also even a Discord server between JEFF and the LDA, but I don't know how to access it anymore...
With Newtown we are currently making a full-scale RP with people, weapons and maps and you are free to join if you haven't already!
But I'm open to suggestions on your side if you have any, but I think we do have a strong diplomatic base.
Also, if you have any regions you'd think are good candidates for embassies, just tell me!

I believe that Nordic Lands or 10000 Islands could be a possible diplomatic mission.

JEFF's discord is in their region, I believe. United Democratic Christian States can also provide the link if needed! Admittedly, I'm not in it myself as I am not fond of the jellyfish worship question that's asked upon entry, hah.

Would you like to join the government? You aren't obliged but the three of us could work together with foreign policy.

Yes, I am more than interested and happy to join!

Wonderful! The Ministry of the Interior is open for service! (should be helpful for debate and it's a valuable position when it comes to diplomacy)

Ah, it's fine, just a skip for that one will be alright! I don't want to impede on fun!

How to join or apply?

Communist Lukania wrote:How to join or apply?

Ah, don't worry about that. I'll inform the Founder on the RMB.

EDICT OF REFANQUOđE
A formal petition by the Algorhyme of Monsmearc for the Founder of the Liberty Alliance regarding the consolidation of the current government of the Liberty Democratic Alliance.
--
Good day, kind Founder of the Liberty Alliance,

I hope you like this particular format, and furthermore, I wish the all of us well with the following request.

I would like to request the formal acknowledgement of Communist Lukania as the Minister of the Interior and Sargk as the Deputy Prime Minister & Foreign Minister for this administration.

Many thanks,
Elder Scribe

Founder of the Liberty Alliance, New Sylvan resigns from the WA to avoid further legislative intrusion by that body in New Sylvaner domestic affairs. The recent loss of what was our primary economic sector (trout fishing trade) through WA legislation, too deeply affected us. We do not want to remain susceptible to another substantial hit. Understood ..WA resignation removes New Sylvan's LDA membership status, but we New Sylvaners can live with the alternative of residency. Virtually no different than before, as New Sylvan has never participated in the region's governmental system, with the exception of voting... But the lack in casting votes here is not as great a loss as would be any further WA-legislated damage inside New Sylvan~Tristram Black, New Sylvan Co-founder

Resigning from the WA does not eliminate citizenship!

Press Statement from the Bystopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to express extreme disappointment regarding the latest decision made by the World Assembly to adopt General Assembly Resolution #725 Reducing Bycatch. The Ministry regards the clauses in this resolution as 'unjust' towards developing nations and nations whose economies rely on the stability of engaging in trade of seafood and relevant products.

The Ministry notes that significant damages were made to New Sylvan and Communist Lukania as a result of extreme restrictions and regulations imposed by the World Assembly. As an act of solidarity, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially recalled the Bystopian WA Ambassador and suspends all current participation in WA missions and funding. Any engagement with the World Assembly will see the absence of Bystopia's involvement unless directed under the WA representative of the Liberty Democratic Alliance.

LDA should transcend. Letĺs make WA membership an exclusion criteria to be LDA members. This way, we should only have backwater WA proxies elsewhere instead.

That would be interesting.

In solidarity with Bystopia....

Both the Supreme National Assembly and the Assembly of National Salvation have voted in the bureaucratic seminar to suspend WA participation completely even, as the nation was forced into compliance regarding a bizarre environmental policy. Both legislatures have noted that across the region, many nations have began to withdraw and suspend any relations with WA.

The Ministry of Foreign affairs has stated that General Assembly Resolution #725 Reducing Bycatch is an equivalent to almost a policy of WA-intended economic destruction the nation has unknowingly voted on, therefore crippling its fishing industry.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs has thanked Bystopia for their supportive message and action against the WA involvement.

In recent thoughts, The People's Democratic Republic of Communist Lukania will begin it's withdrawal from the World Assembly.
As well as before resignation, Communist Lukania has sent a repeal to the WA! ID: communist_lukania_1715902558
