Humanitarian aid and welfare: banned
The Vantierian P.M, Wilhelm Schlieffen, has announced that humanitarian aid and welfare have been banned, and businesses will have to protect the value of their company, so they won't be allowed to donate their products anymore. Why?
Free food and services are harmful for many businesses which provide those goods and services, as their demand is greatly decreased if everyone can freely have access to them. Not only that, but it is also considered unfair. According to the government, having a very low income doesn't give you the right of having free access to many goods and services. And, according to Schlieffen, they have low incomes because they aren't willing to work harder. As a result, the "lazy" are more privileged than the "hard-working", leading to a faulty society where being lazy and not wanting to work is the key to success.
Besides, without that humanitarian aid and welfare the very poor will struggle a lot more, and many may even starve and die due to diseases and lack of healthcare. This means they will be forced to become slaves in order to survive, or just die so they won't be a problem anymore.
The government says that this measure may seem harsh at first, but for too long have companies and businesses been hurt by good intentions. This isn't harsh, it's fair.
