Yeah, heard of a similar thing in Cuba and many "socialist" countries back then

Irl opinions.

I have virtually zero qualm with immigrants. If anything monarchy can simplify this process as well. There so much damn debate about what makes you a “true citizen” of a country if you aren’t the same ethnic group of 99% of the population. In a monarchy however, there’s a simple fix for that. In my nation, just swear your loyalty to the Kaiser verbally and you’re done.

… I think I know the reason for that, however I like this region and don’t want to get banned so I’ll keep my mouth shut.

why do you think democracy is bad for are age

I feel you, here in the Philippines, we have a massive diaspora (not brain drain because even the poor leave this country). It's gotten so bad that Filipinos 6% of the total immigrant population worldwide despite only making up about 1.5% of total world population. 12 million Filipinos work abroad, around 10% of the country's total population.

Das viertes kaiserreich, are you an unironic monarchist irl? I'm just curious what kind of monarchy you think would be good.

… you know all this debate just makes me realise… oh crap,

Democracy isn’t even a government system in the first place, it’s an ideology! What I’ve been critiquing is republics.

Damn, how could I have forgotten to say that before hand.

Anyway. Democracies and monarchy isn’t mutually exclusive, you can practice both. For example the Brit’s and our friend Potenzia here.

In such case, why should there be a monarchy if there is already a democratic, constitutional government? What is the point of the monarch if the democratic government can effectively function without it?
Nowadays, monarchies serve no purpose at all. They are pointless.

you guys did try to unite all the serbs that one time

Bruh, y'all are tweaking. Democracy if properly practiced could work, but it isn't, so instead we live in a republic. The voting is broken because of gerrymandered districts that the oligarchs use to remain in power. I am not crazy. There are studies showing the direct correlation between money spent on a campaign, and who wins. The United States is further broken with its one party system(The illusion of choice), and making it harder for the people to legally remove those in power. I hate sounding like an extremist, but some days I think that the only way for true change is to overthrow the government. Sorry for the rant, these are my more extreme views further gaslighted by recent events. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Symbolism, the democraties nees to serve the public and defend their voters. While the king is the symbol of everyone, just to make sure the figurehead isn't hated by the half of the country. The king/queen needs to be neutral so that everyone can be represented by one person.

i mean its easy for you to say since you live in Belgium, a nation that everyone is surprised still exists on the map.
For example here in Serbia the monarchy cant come back, a small portion of nationalistic zoomers and some old boomers want them back.
The serbian center, left/right and altleft/altright basically hate them. I personally see no use in the monarchy to return.

I mean i dont think that a well functioning constitutional and democratic monarchy cant exist... but monarchies such as Saudi Arabia and such should not be allowed to exist.

I also feel uncomfortable to live in a nation in which someone is treated of higher value and is considered supperior just because he was born in a noble family.
Idk that's just my liberal view on the world.

But, realistically, symbols don't mean anything when the ones that actually rule are hated by half of the country. The monarch may be neutral, but he/she doesn't have the power to do anything. For example, Italy during WWII. And the king got deposed after the war, too.

Yeah, and most jobs don’t seem to pay well here. Everything is a lot cheaper though.

My ideal system is this.

With this proposal I hope to solve the problems of a Constitutional Monarchy and those of an Absolute one. The biggest problem I have with these 2 systems is with the power they give to the monarch and the people.

In a Constitutional Monarchy, not only the Monarch has little power to rule, but also the people interefere exaggeratedly on how the government operates.

In an Absolute Monarchy, the opposite effect is the problem. The Monarch has too many responsibilities and there is no insurance that he won't become a tyrant.

Seeing these 2 models of government I was able to create a new system, a semi-democratic one. In this system of my own, the people would be responsible for making a Constitution, (which they can later alter to suit their needs) one that would limit the powers of the Monarch. The purpose of this Constitution would be to make sure that the Monarch doesn't abuse of his powers.

As for the Monarch himself, he would be tasked with ruling with the power that the people had given him and directly choose the main cabinet ministers of the government who would help him rule the country.

On the other hand, the people would elect a parliament, or in my language a reichstag. That would basically act to the monarch the same way an opposition party acts to the ruling party in a republic.

Oh yes, also. The parliament would have no parties, so all the elected officials would be one “block” elected by the people to contest what the Monarch and the nobles do.

I feel the simple solution here is to give the monarch more power. People are horrifically stupid. And I would never trust a decision just because the majority voted for it.

In fact, that’s my main qualm with democracy. The fact that nothing ever gets solved, just endless pointless talking and scandals.

Oh yes, and on to the blasphemous ideal that everyone gets a say. no matter how illiterate, bigoted, impractical or mentally retarded they are.
