Anton walked to a podium, with various media microphones. He cleared his throat, and began to talk.
“On November 29th, 2021, my airplane was shot down by terrorists over Kathricore in an attempt to assassinate me. Now, many are no doubt wondering why I took so long to talk about this, and the reason is that I wished to give the families of my many guards who lost their lives or were permanently disabled by the attempt on my life time to recover and mourn the deaths of their loved ones. These brave men risked their lives to save mine, and I wish they did not have to die. I wish I was in their place, as these are men who had defended my father during his rule and myself even before I ruled. Men I had bonded with, men whom I’d call my brothers. I am also affected by the loss of these men’s lives, which is why I will announce that each of the men who protected me, whether they died or not, will be admitted to the honorable Order of Josef, the highest award in Tussia. These men risked their lives for my own, and that is a selfless act. These men made sure I lived as the Emperor. They could’ve surrendered, they could’ve ran. I would not have blamed them if they did, but they stayed and fought. I will ensure the funerals are held with honour and to the wishes of their families, and out of my own pocket I will pay their expenses and give each of them a large sum of cash, totaling 335,000 Tussian Dollars each (roughly 500,000 USD). I thank every soldier, brother, who died defending me and I will personally attend each funeral.” The crowd cheered as Anton walked off the stage, visibly distraught by remembering what had happened.

Ofrus, how do you think about the relationship between Islam and democracy? (I think you are Muslim, but you might also be just RP-ing your nation that way, and you would know a great deal about Islam in both cases probably) I have read opinions, written by Muslims, who reject democracy and consider it haram based on the on the fact that it gives legislative power to humans instead of Allah, which is fundamentally at odds with the ultimate and total subjugation to Allah that is central to Islam, and would allow the people to disobey Islamic law. Is that assertion correct? I have also heard an opinion about that Iraq should have been made a monarchy after the invasion instead of a democracy. Democracy is an epic failure in Iraq and Afghanistan, and didn't really work in most of the Middle East actually, and I wonder if this might have something to do with the aforementioned statement about the relationship between Islam and democracy. What is your opinion about this? And do you think Iraq would have been better off if it was ruled under the king of e.g. Jordan?
