Maybe for actors who need to learn Elvish lines, a good method is to make up a melody for their text, and sing it while learning it.

Nicol Williamson performs J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit

Recording from 1974, a beautiful and vivid adaptation.

Descent into Rivendell by the wonderful John Howe. The house oddly resembles a castle in this picture. I like the atmosphere, with the rain in the foreground and the snow far above.

John McWhorter: A five minute TED-ed talk on Elvish and other conlangs.

Worth watching especially because of the adorable animation!

What do Game of Thrones’ Dothraki, Avatar’s Na’vi, Star Trek’s Klingon and LOTR’s Elvish have in common? They are all fantasy constructed languages, or conlangs. Conlangs have all the delicious complexities of real languages: a high volume of words, grammar rules, and room for messiness and evolution. John McWhorter explains why these invented languages captivate fans long past the rolling credits.

May I wish Imladris a fair and hangover-free holiday season.

Lindir, would you go over to Rivendell?

If this request confuses you, think of it as wine induced double vision.

Hey there friends and Tolkien fans,Lothlorien is starting up its Tolkien polls again (woooooooooo)! Anyways the first poll is up. And yeah,it’s going to be boring, I know, but it will be a vote on what the first (second actually) poll will be on. Like the winner will be the first poll, and the runner-up will be the second, and maybe the 3rd place will be the third poll. So it will be up for a fortnight (if you don’t know what that is, 2 weeks), but the actual polls will be up for 10 days. At least that is the plan.
So yeah, check it out. And vote, because thats always fun
Also, if you think you have creative ideas, TG me with the idea. Because I got ideas, but how creative they are is a little questionable...
Find the poll here Lothlorien

Alright so, 5 days left in the newest (and most boring :P) Lothlorien poll! And if you haven’t voted yet, now is the time! Currently “Who wins in a fight” is in the leed with 3 votes and 4 other categories are are tied for second with 2 votes. Can this change? Of course it can! And you can be the one to change it!
Poll is found here and please vote if you are yet to do soLothlorien

Hello again friends, the latest and not the greatest Lothlorien poll has ended… and…. The winner is….. “Who wins in a fight” with 7 out of 30 votes. So that means, the next poll will be on that topic. The runner up was “Which character was cast the best” with 4/30 votes, so this will be the second poll. There is no clear 3rd place, with 4 categories tied with 3/30 votes. Anyways, so 30 voters is a great result, more than I was anticipating. Hopefully the same turns up for the new poll.
So, the poll is here Lothlorien, voting will be open for 10 days!
