From our side of things, that largely depends on context and your POV on what constitutes "interesting." If anything, it does prove that a "Brexit-like" hate-filled populist reaction against Father Knows Best/Ivory Tower elitism can happen just about anywhere (I'm looking at you, WASC).

For my Republican friends complaining about their fellow Americans protesting: blame the Boston Tea Party of 1773. We have a long history of protest in this Nation. It is a stalwart of our Democracy. It is guaranteed in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. Some members of our country are concerned that the present power base is doing nothing to unify the country. When our leader supports the erosion of voter rights, calls Mexicans rapists, labels Moslems as terrorists, marginalizes Women as sex objects, and fills cabinet posts with those who contributed more in dollars to the campaign rather than having actual experience, it is hard for our opposing voice to lay down our rights and accept a call of unity. In our protests, we are unified. If Mr. Trump wants a unified country he might want to consider leading us to unity via inclusion rather than exclusion.
