No. Just thinking.

Hello everyone. I've lurking here for a while and have been meaning to discuss the history and canon of my nation and how it fits in with the regional lore. (I was meaning to do this months ago but was delayed by adverse circumstances in my personal life.)

I'm looking to slightly tweak the history of Tangatarehua and looking for people who might be willing to jump in.

Three things I need:

1. A western colonial power who would have attempted to colonise (and introduce Christianity to) Tangatarehua at the end of the 18th century, but who were surprisingly defeated in 1803 by a nation who at the time were thought to be culturally and racially inferior.

2. A coalition of probably democratic nations who thwarted Tangatarehua's attempts at building an empire in the 1950s. Probably someone or multiple someones who were (ultimately, unsuccessfully) invaded by Tangatarehua in this period.

3. This would be the most complicated one: I need someone who was an ally of Tangatarehua in the 1970s but was invaded or attacked by a third country, leading to Tangatarehua defending them but in the process committing atrocities so severe that they were forced to take the blame for a war they never started. On the back of this I'll need a large western-style democracy (or coalition of several) who occupied Tangatarehua between 1979 and 1982 and helped subjugate it into a peace-loving democracy.

Up until now I've been using real life nations as stand-ins for Tangatarehua's history, but I'd prefer to have my history linked in with the rest of the regional canon and lore where possible.

If this sounds like something you could help with, let me know. And if you have questions or other ideas, also let me know.

I've been working on developing Kassaran history similarly. I want to approach it a bit more realistically than my previous attempts.

I'm very interested, especially as a socialist country that is democratic.

1. and 2. is interesting for me, as I am sort of a British Empire myself. Chrsitian and all, though not really, because the faith I use is called The Cardinal Heroes.

We could also probably get into a sort of rivalry or so. Especially due to our differences.

Sounds interesting, did you have anything in mind? Tangatarehua is fairly neutral towards socialism.

That definitely does sound like it would work well!

You look like a proud, demented older brother.

I mean both as compliments.

Welcome back from the dead, Lyras.

The union is highly socialist, and is quite interested in the world. It tries to be a better military power and does engage in trade. It also seeks to promote socialism and advance human rights.

Go and bring peace, freedom, justice, and security to your new empire!

Good to see you again, Lyras.

Surprised that Mac, Morrdh, Stevid, HM, and some others don't have Lyras' Facebook.

Greetings Greater Dienstad!

I'm new in town and wanted to reach out and introduce myself. I've been around the game for a long time off and on as multiple different nations and always admired from afar the involvement RP prowess that you have here.

I have a global shipping thread that I just put up on the forum that I'd love for you all to check out. It would be great to build some trading relations with my new neighbors. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=520599
