General Secretary Elections: 2nd Round Voting to begin
SHUNTIAN — The second round of voting for the General Secretary elections is due to begin.
The current candidates for the second round are Dmitry Neverov, Huang Duzhen, Kim Joo-yong, Qi Peiping, and Tan Ju-long. The first and the last are from the Far Eastern Unionist Party, while the remainder represent Asia First, the Gungminuihim, and the May First Academic Society respectively.
Dmitry Neverov has endorsed the concept of a "sovereign democracy", stating that the FEUSSR's actions and policies should only be accountable to the masses within the nation, and not be directed or influenced from outside the country unless said policies involve outside countries. He has also pledged to be tough on organised crime, having called for FEUSSR citizens to kill drug dealers, make use of court-mandated drug therapies for drug addicts, and "shoot-to-kill" orders against resisting gangsters. His campaign revolves around the use of capital punishment for convicted criminals involved in drug distribution, gun-for-hire syndicates, rape, robbery, or murder.
Huang Duzhen has promoted a socially conservative view, supported by "rational intellectualism" and educational reforms that emphasise critical thinking and the life sciences. He has openly advocated for the "purging of undesirable elements from Far Eastern society", such as smoking, drugs, excessive drinking, foreign religions, and so on. He has also denounced democracy, calling it as an "old man's game where skill and expertise is cast aside for some television hotshot who tells the people what they want to hear, but do not give them what they need." He has called for an autarkic means of economic self-sufficiency and trade, centering trade policy around the AU and granting Asian nations preferential treatment by virtue of shared values and destiny.
Kim Joo-yong has advocated "national preference" for local citizens with regards to job access and social services, a protectionist economy that would be entered around 'like-minded Asian communities", as well as withdrawing from treaties such as the Seabed Arms Control Treaty, Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons, and Chemical Weapons Convention, adding that "ratifying said treaties only limits the nation's ability to defend herself". She has called on FEUSSR locals to love the nation and to unite for the common good, saying that "foreign interference in Asian affairs should not be tolerated", and that the FEUSSR's national sovereignty should be paramount.
Qi Peiping has supported globalisation, having advocated for the establishment of a new international democratic economic order on the basis of respect for the economic sovereignty of each country, calling for the regulation of activities by MNCs to ensure that it abides by the principles of corporate social responsibility. She has also called for greater funding to be poured into education and research institutes, with price ceilings on Linkinternationally recognised essential medicines, and bolstering the nation's overall research output. She has also said that the FEUSSR should invest more in hi-tech industries, such as computing, AI, IoT, and so on. She has planned on going ahead with the 'Yellow Sea Ring Project' (YSRP), which would construct a new megalopolis around the Yellow Sea through the agglomerationthe Jingjinji Metropolitan Region, Lüda, Kum City, Kum-sok City, and other cities into one over a period of several decades.
Tan Ju-long's candidacy campaign emphasises the transition of the FEUSSR into an international financial centre by assuring foreign businesses and traders of the reliability of the FEUSSR's social and economic conditions, cutting down on bloated staffing, renewing investments into infrastructure and education to provide the FEUSSR with a skilled workforce, and a stable currency. Tan also believed that ministers should be well paid in order to maintain a clean and honest government, proposing a 30% peg on the salaries of top civil servants to the salaries of professionals in the private sector plus more employee benefits as a means to help recruit and retain talent in the public sector. He has also enforced 'positive non-interventionism', limiting government intervention in business.
Voting will begin in 6,591,283 voting stands across the country, located in schools, community halls, or in FEUP party offices. The second round of voting will be done through approval voting, with the 2 candidates winning the largest share of the votes to be sworn in as Grand Secretaries.

The 1st Union Grand Secretary Election was a nationwide vote to determine the two inaugural Grand Secretaries of the FEUSSR. It was the second national election ever held in the Far Eastern Union, following the 1st Union Federal Elections for the Soviet of the Union.
Background
The Grand Secretaries are elected to a five-year term in a two-round election. The initial pool of candidates are whittled down by a round of approval voting* into a pool of 5 candidates. Votes are measured in percentages: total percentages do not add up to 100%, as the percentage listed is indicative of the percentage ballots which have the candidate nominated, instead of the percentage of total votes garnered. The 5 candidates with the highest percentages are then run past a second round of approval voting, with the pair of most-approved candidates elected into the office.
Each of the candidates must meet a specific set of requirements in order to run. They must be a national of the FEUSSR, and serve as or have served as a magistrate in the civil service. Alternatively, they can be a member of the Armed Forces. To be listed on the ballots, candidates must also secure 500 signatures from a local constituency. Following their approval as candidates, they are held by the Republican Censors in a secure location for their security, and also to monitor them for signs of electoral fraud or outside help. The Censors also ensure that all candidates receive equal time in broadcast media "under comparable programming conditions", with the aim of providing all candidates equitable treatment on broadcast platforms.
The first round of voting is preceded by a televised debate, where candidates are asked on their policy prescriptions for various issues (i.e: militarisation, foreign policy, economic development, agronomy, LGBT+ issues, etc.) and also to debate other candidates on their policy points. This is because Grand Secretaries can table their own legislative items onto the Soviet of the Union (and subsequently, the Supreme Soviet), which gives them some power in enacting their own policies.
Candidates
Below is a list of candidates for the Grand Secretary Elections, in alphabetical order:
Boris Zhirinovsky (Northern Prosperity): Labelling himself as the "defender of rural territories and a humanist ecology", Zhirinovsky's candidacy seeks to improve rural living conditions by sponsoring a public healthcare and educational outreach programme for the rural population. He also endorses the transition to clean, renewable energy within 4 decades, the creation of a carbon tax, a jobs guarantee, and improved infrastructural projects for rural communities.
Cao Kaiming (Veteran's Party): Nicknamed the 'de Gaulle of East Asia', Cao seeks to "construct a messianic vision of the FEUSSR's historic destiny, reaffirm its prestige in the world, and transcend the national humiliations of the past." He supports the colonisation of the Moon, the exploration of Mars by the FEUSSR, as well as traditional policies of the Veteran's Party such as paying severance to veterans to finance their integration into society, and to disperse economic and political power to individuals via social credit theory.
Chae Won-tak (Chollima Movement): A professor of economics, and son of revolutionary Chae Kum-sok, he aims to create a platform to "hear the voices of workers", hoping to "unite workers of the world to defend their interests". A self-described communist candidate, he has promoted global revolution to discard a "toxic capitalist world", and instead institutionalise labour and work unions to protect the working class. He also supports the FEUSSR's current tripartite system, and has called for worker-based economic planning.
Chōjun Naagusuku (Internet Party of Asia): Naagusuku stands for an independent centre in politics. He has promised to dismantle state control of the media and prohibit censorship on the media. He has furthermore advocated for a reduction of the country's external debt, cuts to tax exemptions, and a raise in tariffs and VAT to directly finance the repayment of debt. He has also proposed plans to increase data security so that the datasets are not publicly available by default and cannot be used to identify someone, stating that no personal data may be processed unless it is done via consent, contract, a public task, a vital interest, a legitimate interest, or due to a legal requirement.
Chung Eun-hun (Jeonguidang): Chung Eun-hun has proposed setting a maximum wage differential of 1 to 20 in all businesses, so that employers wishing to increase their own salaries would also have to increase those of their employees, as well as a 15% tax on corporate bonuses which will be funnelled into employee pension contributions. He has advocated for the taxing of imports which do not meet the FEUSSR's environmental regulations, a progressive capital gains tax to supersede the nation's individual income tax, and a requirement for businesses to abide by environmental regulations consistently in order to receive public subsidies.

She has furthermore advocated for streamlined immigration platforms, the opening of FEUSSR educational institutes to foreign academics, and tax cuts for businesses that reinvest their profits in the country.

She has also called for a new constitutional convention to increase the prerogatives of the legislature and diminish the powers of the Executive branch, electoral policies to be based on proportional representation, and foreign policy doctrine centred around global denuclearisation and nonproliferation.
Šoluntu (Society for Monarchical Constitutionalism): Šoluntu, former commander of the Imperial Guards, currently heads the Qing household in the Mountain Resort. His campaign programme prioritised the national interests of the FEUSSR, emphasising the party's concern about protecting traditional Asian values, as well as sovereigntism on matters of currency, borders, the economy, and rule of law. Šoluntu also envisions the creation of the Asian Confederation to supersede the Asian Union and better protect Asia against the "hegemonic West".

Yoshiko Shii (Kyōsan-tō): Yoshiko Shii's platform revolves around the realignment of the FEUSSR into a non-aligned and neutral country, in accordance with its principles of Asian self-determination and sovereignty. She has also proposed the downsizing of the military from 4 million active troops to 3 million, and opposes possession of nuclear weapons. She has advocated for the revocation of special privileges granted to the House of Aisin-Gioro following its abdication in the Red Revolution, with a revamp of the nation's economic policy to one of "defending the interests, lives, and basic rights of the people".
Zheng Meiyue (Bloc420): Zheng has emphasised her desire to decriminalise victimless crimes and recreational drugs such as marijuana, with the caveat that narcotics vendors should reinvest profits into addiction and treatment programmes. She has also campaigned for an overhaul of the corrections system to match that of the Nordic model, based more on restorative practices and reform, as well as the cancellation of tax cuts across the board. Residents who hail from AU member stares would be given the right to vote in local elections after five years of legal residency. On housing, she has promised to regulate rises in rent to a narrow margin within an annual inflation rate, as well as the provision of more land to construct public housing.

Exosonic reveals concept of new government jet
Union government officials may soon be flying faster than the speed of sound.
Jet maker Exosonic has released the first renderings of an interior designed for top-level government officials, all the way up to the office of the vice president. The California firm said it had developed the interior in collaboration with the USAF Presidential and Executive Airlift Directorate. The “low-boom” supersonic jet, which will have a speed of Mach 1.8 (1,380 mph) and 5,000 nautical mile range, will not replace Air Force One, but would be available for the highest-ranking government missions. It will carry 31 passengers, compared to Exosonic’s 70-passenger commercial airliner.
The interiors were done by Exosonic’s in-house team. “The cabin design was inspired by the US Executive Branch and its mission and values, as well as the Peregrine falcon,” a rep from Exosonic told Robb Report. “That bird is not only renowned for its speed, but also for its beautiful looks.”
The layout includes two private suites with VIP seats, and one of the suites will be capable of video teleconferencing for secure communications in flight. The second eight-passenger suite, with lay-flat seats, will be for senior staffers and guests.
The interior also includes 20 business-class passenger seats as well as two galleys and two lavatories, with good storage space.
Interior components will be sourced from US manufacturers, including a wool-and-silk blend custom carpet from Scott Group Studio. The Michigan firm recently made rugs for the Oval Office for President Dawes, as it had for both the Roosevelt and Lincoln administrations. Tapis Corp. will provide the ultra-leathers and ultra-suedes, while other materials include oak veneers for the cabinets, leather seats, and hydro-dipped Piaçava wood seat shells.
“Transporting key decision makers and teams around the world in half the time can be the difference between success and failure,” said Brig. Gen. Britton, executive officer of the Presidential and Executive Airlift Director, when the collaboration with Exosonic was announced. “By teaming with industry, we are proving the Union Air Force can deliver technology leaps while maximizing return on taxpayer investment.”
New supersonic commercial airliner announced
At nearly the same time as Exsonic announced it's latest project, Florida based Aerion announced the AS3, new supersonic commercial airliner capable of reaching Mach 4-plus. Aerion said the AS3 will make its first flight before the end of the decade, with the ability to fly up to 50 passengers for 7,000 miles.
Aerion has already been working on the design of the smaller AS2 supersonic business jet for years and says production will begin in 2023. The company is building a new 100-acre headquarters and production facility in Melbourne, Fla., where it says it will produce 300 AS2 jets. It also recently announced that NetJets, the world’s largest fractional provider, has pre-ordered 20 AS2’s.
Earlier this year, Aerion expanded its partnership with NASA’s Langley Research Center. The company said it plans to accelerate “the realization of commercial high-speed flight and faster point-to-point travel, specifically studying commercial flight in the Mach 3-5 range [2302 mph to 3836 mph].”
“The AS3 forms the next step in our long-term technology roadmap and will bring Aerion’s high Mach flight capability to a broader audience,” said Tom Vice, Aerion chairman and CEO in a statement. Our vision is to build a future where humanity can travel between any two points on our planet within three hours.” Vice did not reveal more than just a shadowy version of the rendering, saying the company would share more of the design later this year.
“Supersonic flight is the starting point, but it is just that—the beginning. To truly revolutionize global mobility as we know it today, we must push the boundaries of what is possible,” added Vice. “The AS3 forms the next step in our long-term technology roadmap and will bring Aerion’s high Mach flight capability to a broader audience.”
Vice told Robb Report in a recent interview that Aerion would be focused on sustainability, not only with its new facility, but also by using synthetic fuels and a process called direct air capture to lessen carbon dioxide output in the synthetic fuel that its jets will use. Vice also said that the company has created a “boomless” technology that will do away with sonic booms over land. “If you’re sitting in your home, you’re not going to want to hear the rattle of a supersonic jet,” said Vice. “There are now passive shaping technologies, but we’re designing active technologies to mitigate the sonic boom. We have to be a responsible supersonic design company.”
Aerion has also stated that it will work with other well-known aerospace companies around the world so as to increase efforts to finish the project before the end of the decade and has reached to Hermes Aerospace in The hellenes league and other such companies based in Far Eastern Union of Soviet Republics,

FEUSSR to collaborate with 
Imperial Eagle on supersonic commercial airliner
TAMPA — Chosun Aerospace Industries, HAIG, the Far Eastern Academy of Sciences, the Aero Engine Corporation, COMAFE, and Changfeng Mechanics have announced imminent collaboration with Imperial Eagle as it embarks on the research and development of the Aerion AS3 supersonic commercial airliner project.
The six aforementioned entities represent some of the top talent in the fields of aeronautics, and will cumulatively dispatch a team of 80 researchers to assist in its research efforts. If all goes well, CAI, COMAFE, and HAIG hope to form a joint venture in the near future dedicated to the domestic manufacture and operation of the AS3 jet. Far Eastern Airlines, the FEUSSR's flagship carrier, has also expressed interest in potentially acquiring domestically manufactured versions for its fleet.
Previously, scientists from the country had experimented with a "sodramjet engine", a prototype of which was able to reach Mach 9 speeds during a wind tunnel test. According to the researchers, this type of engine could be used in "reusable trans-atmospheric planes [that will] take off horizontally from an airport runway, accelerate into orbit around the Earth, then re-enter into the atmosphere". Researchers from the FEAS hope to be able to impart its research experience into the supersonic jet project as well, with 10 of researchers who were directly involved in the creation of the sodramjet prototype being dispatched as part of the FEUSSR-Aerion research team.
The People's National Weather Service and the Department of Technical Services of the Ministry of Posts and Communications have both endorsed the Aerion project. The PNWS has disbursed a $8 million USP research grant to the company.

Aerion is pleased to hear this response and also has plans for a reusable trans-atmospheric plane. Such a design was shared with it by NASA several years ago and the design concept has been adjusted as time went by. A second design that was put forward was one powered by a combination of hydrogen and oxygen. That design is more suited for near space flight such as what Chosun Aerospace and others have mentioned. What information Aerion and NASA have will also be shared as that is also a planned project to complete before the end of the decade.

CAIST files injunction against "technoterrorists"
DATIAN — The MOI-PSF has said it would dispatch a permanent detachment of 50 officers to prevent any unauthorised gatherings within the CAIST's campus in Datian, after the institute's senior management team filed an injunction with the Datian City Court.
The research university has been controversial recently due to its participation in human embryo cloning and implicit support for the MoE's Human Fat Fuel Project. The issue has polarised the nation, with some stating it to be a problem that requires the stronger regulation of science and technology, while others assert it to be an environmentally friendly way to generate biofuel without sacrificing the rare commodity of land and resources. This has caused various gatherings, online threats vowing to destroy valuable research materials and specimens, incidents of harassment and assault, along with vandalism and arson of the main entrance. The recent criminal acts by various isolated, decentralised actors has prompted the injunction, which was sponsored by 7,000 staff members and students.
The Datian City Court has said that persisted acts of attack or protest on the CAIST campus groups will be broken up, and perpetrators can be charged with contempt of court. Other penalties include $5,000 USD in fines, caning, and potential for imprisonment.

The Caliphate begins commercial operation of first Arab nuclear plant
The Mashriq Caliphate set a new milestone earlier today with the commencement of operations in Barakah nuclear plant, the first commercial nuclear plant in the Arab world.
His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed al Maktoum, Emir of Dubai, hailed what is yet another historic moment for the country.
“Today, the Caliphate has entered a historic stage," he said in a post on Twitter. "The effort of 10 years and 2,000 engineers and Mashriqi young men and 80 international partners... and the vision of a leader who put the Northern Arab Emirates as well as all of the Caliphate in an unprecedented developmental position..."
Barakah unit 1 entered commercial operation today, the Northern Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (NENEC) has announced. The unit, which is operated by Nawah Energy Company, is the second largest electricity generator in the Caliphate since the Caliphate reached 100% power in early December. NENEC said the 1400-megawatt unit, which is in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, is now providing "constant, reliable and sustainable electricity around the clock". The second mission of the Intercosmos Lunar Program, Selenia II launches today. This mission takes the ICC to Oceanus Procellarum, the Ocean of Storms.
We will be sending the rover “filía” (φιλία) meaning “friendship”, to signify the friendship that the ICC member nations have with each other and the world. Filía will be exploring a crater on the eastern edge of Oceanus Procellarum, known as Copernicus. The probe will make landfall directly in the crater to examine it as the site of the manned Selenia IV mission.
The probe will also be taking samples of the rocks and material within the crater for later collection by the cosmonaut team arriving later. We anticipate breathtaking views within the crater and will be sharing images once they are available to us.

Far Eastern Reserve Bank announces new banking laws
SHUNTIAN — The Far Eastern Reserve Bank (FERB), the nation's central bank, has unveiled a series of new banking laws that are aimed to shore up confidence and trust in the FEUSSR's banking institutions by investors and businesses, in a bid to increase capital inflows into the country and mature its banking industry.
Largely borrowing elements from Swiss banking systems, the new regulations will permit for the construction of undisclosed or otherwise secretive bank vaults, storage facilities, or bunkers to facilitate the storage of physical assets such as gold bars, diamonds, or bullion. The FERB has permitted the vaults to be located in 3 approved locations: in the Rangrim Mountains, the Greater Khingan, or the mountainous, coastal regions of the Ussuri SSR. Under FERB regulations, facilities there are not obliged to report holdings to regulatory agencies unless through criminal complaint, judicial injunction, or warrant. The PDF has also made plans to auction off various Cold War-era bunkers across the country for banks to use as secure storage locations, entry and storage of which would be reserved for clients that pass a multi-stage security clearance.
Another new regulation includes the authority for certain banks within the FEUSSR to offer clients anonymous bank accounts. These bank accounts, abbreviated as ABAs, are theoretically anonymous as the identity of account holder is replaced with a multi-digit number known only to the holder him/herself and the banker. Personal information is still recorded by the bank and subject to limited, warranted disclosure via legal means. To mitigate the risk of white collar crime, clients who wish to open an ABA must pass a clearance procedure and prove to the bank the lawful origins of their assets; monetary deposits into the ABA must also be verified and corroborated with tax/income invoices as legitimate monies to prevent money laundering. Currently, FERB only allows the following banks to issue ABAs: the Bank of the Far East, the Communications Bank, the Industrial and Commercial Bank, Far Eastern Construction Bank, KB Bank, Shinhan Bank, Hana Bank, and Woori Bank.
Other articles within FERB's new regulations prohibits the FEUSSR's financial institutions from acting on behalf of a foreign government unless prior approval is given from the MFA, makes it a federal crime for any person to divulge confidential business information to a foreign government authority, and allows a bank account holder to judicially bar a bank from releasing private information via injunction. It also obliges all bank personnel to maintain the secrets of their clients in perpetuity, even if their employment is terminated or retired, while subjecting third parties who influence or otherwise induce violations of banking secrecy to criminal proceedings. This "bank secrecy" covers all activities in the banking domain, including the relationship between a citizen and bank, any information given by the citizen to the bank, transactions made by the citizen, and even the existence of a citizen's bank account.
The FERB has further expressed an interest in formally embedding banking secrecy within the FEUSSR's Constitution, rendering it a federally-protected constitutional right - along with food, water, and other basic life necessities.

A project involving the placement of artificial sea reefs was launched today in Sanya, a tropical city in the province of Hainan, in an attempt to restore the marine ecology of the popular tourist destination.
The project was organized by Hainan University and Wuzhizhou Island, one of the best dive sites in the country.
As of April, 870 artificial reefs with a total volume of about 30,000 cubic meters are expected to be placed in the island's marine park, said Wang Aimin, professor at the College of Ocean Sciences at Hainan University, during the launch ceremony of the project. Artificial reefs are used around the world to improve the ecology of the ocean, creating additional habitats for aquatic organisms and local fish.
Wang's team designs different types of reefs to ensure their ornamental qualities, and computer science will be applied to the marine park's data collection system. As of 2020, 1,526 artificial reefs, 21 ship barriers and a group of volcanic rocks have been placed in the Wuzhizhou Island Marine Park, Wang said.
"With the reefs, we have restored the marine ecosystem and the coral has developed well," said Ding Feng, vice president of the Wuzhizhou Island Tourism Resort.
According to official data, the coverage rate of living coral on the island's marine ranch has increased from less than 15% in 2010 to over 23% in 2021. The number of fish in the area has increased two to three times during this period.

Chinese companies invest in ports in The republic of dhan

Executive Committee unveils new microplastics regulations
SHUNTIAN — The Executive Committee of the Supreme Soviet has voted in new regulations surrounding the use of microplastics, as it takes a tougher stance on waterway pollution and aims to protect the FEUSSR's natural landscape.
“Microplastics”, defined as non-biodegradable plastics and plastic fragments smaller than 5 millimeters in along the longest length of the particle, have caused much controversy as they can cause adverse health effects to organic life, accumulate in the gastrointestinal systems of organisms, pollute waterways, and transport variable concentrations of toxic materials to maritime ecosystems. Previous attempts to curb microplastics contamination through a blanket ban on glitter has caused some improvement; it is estimated that 537.6–905.9 tons of microplastic particles enter the FEUSSR's seas via the Yangtze River annually, but that number has dropped by 3-5% year-on-year for the last 3 consecutive years.
The People's National Ocean Service (PNOS) will be responsible for overseeing the new regulations, with $100 million USP earmarked for enforcement purposes for the remainder of the year. The PNOS has been given permission to issue warnings, criminal complaints, and take both civil and criminal action against violators of the following articles:
The purposeful addition of microplastic particles throughout the manufacturing and sale of a product is prohibited, with an exception for medication and other medical products for use inside the body, or plastic nurdles that will be turned into larger plastics during the manufacturing and production process.
Manufacturers of non-exempted products must remove microplastic particles from all future lines of production within 3 months.
The Ministry of Works shall make use of processes that can significantly reduce microplastic concentrations in water, such as membrane bioreactor treating or sand filters with hydrous ferric oxide, for all of its wastewater treatment plants within 6 years. The Ministry of Works shall be earmarked $1 billion USP for this purpose.
Runoff water from artificial playing fields should not enter storm drains untreated. New, planned, to-be constructed playing fields and stadiums shall incorporate retention basins for the first flush of water as part of its drainage design, with plans to redirect the retained water to elsewhere where at least 50% of the microplastic particles can be filtered out before discharge, or filtered on-site.
The PNOS will formally create the Common Unified Nurdle Transportation standard to facilitate the physical transportation of plastic nurdles. All containers made to transport plastic nurdles within the FEUSSR must be swapped to the aforementioned standard within 2 years. The standard requires that microplastics be transported in single-sized 1 meter x 1 meter x 1 meter cubes to minimise the effects of accidental nurdle pollution should a container be compromised. Containers must also be puncture resistant to 100N or more to reduce the risk of nurdle spills.
All single-use plastics will be eliminated in 5 years, to be replaced with recyclable alternatives or alternatives made from recycled materials.
rePAPER, a company that manufactures environment-friendly coatings for food packaging paper, will be acquired by the Federal Government for $700 million USP. All food packaging and food management entities are required to store their food products in fully recyclable containers after 3 years. rePAPER, acting as a Federal entity, will be charged with manufacturing and supplying its recyclable coated papers to various public and private vendors.

Haiku, Hainan - Traffic was started on a new high-speed highway on Hainan, which connected Wuzhishan and Haitang Bay to Sanya.

MASHRIQ STATE VISIT TO ROMANOVSKAYA
At the Princely Palace in Baryshevo, just outside Vyborg, H.S.H. Princess Zephyrine of Romanovskaya and her husband H.S.H. Prince Pyotr Ivanonvich Golitsyn-Romanoff greeted H.E. Khalifa Muhammad bin Omar Aladeen, as well as the two Emirs H.H. Muhammad bin Hamad al Nahyan and H.H. Salman bin Nawaf Al Rashid. The two delegations shook hands exchanged kind words with eachother, before both standing for the respective national anthems.
The delegations then made their way inside where there was a private meeting which lasted approximately thirty minutes, after which there was a small ceremony as H.E. Khalifa Muhammad bin Omar Aladeen was presented with the Imperial Order of the White Eagle. The award was given in recognition of the Caliph's work in modernising the Mashriq Caliphate as well as his work in advancing peace on the international stage. Following the award ceremony, the Princess and the Caliph then went back outside to the grounds of the Palace where they inspected members of the Imperial Guard.
Following the meeting with the Princely family, the next stage of the visit took place at the Parliament Buildings in Vyborg. There, the Caliph and his delegation met with Prime Minister Daria Shchegolyayeva, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Eybozhenko, Foreign Minister Viktor Volkov and Finance Minister Tatiana Konovalova. There was a brief meeting between the delegations before there was an official signing of a free-trade deal between Romanovskaya and the Mashriq Caliphate. The following is a brief synopsis of what the agreement contains:
