This region was founded on 7 August 2017 by a group of good friends: Arthropol, Fyodorians (now La Repubblica Cisalpina), Arab North Africa, Turkic Republic and Unified Korean Lands. Since then, we have welcomed new members. Originally based on a realistic alternate scenario Earth, this region, since January of 2019, is now largely inactive both on the board and the forum, as our operations have switched to real life and on our LinkDiscord. To view some of our unused puppet nations, see Puppet Storage Region.

JSE has begun design tests and wind tunnel testing for the Type 470 Alante, as well as announcing 4 initial variants. Three passenger versions in different fuselage lengths and a possible freighter version. A full size model will be constructed for testing. The plane will be visually similar to the cancelled Boeing 2707-300 SST design with a stationary delta wing and a small tailplane. Preliminary orders can be placed if airlines see fit.

Details for the JSE Type 470 Alante are available at request

Initial testing has begun on the mockup airframe

JSE has begun construction of a flightworthy prototype aircraft for testing and demonstration. Airlines can place preliminary orders for the Type 470 Alante SST plane.

AVION engines has supplied the prototype J620-F40A engine for the Type 470 Alante and specifications are stated below. There are two variants of the engine (the J620-F40A and J620-F40B (different combustor styles)) specifications are below

J620-F40A engine
Type: Turbofan
Thrust: 62,000 lbf.
Length: 28ft 3in
Diameter: 5ft 11in
Dry weight: 11,300 lbs
Compressor: Nine-stage axial
Combustors: Annular straight-through-flow ("Can" style combustors on the J620-F40B engine)
Turbine: Two-stage axial

Engine bids are still being accepted for consideration for the plane if airlines request alternative options. So far, the Accra Darcen engine from Argentinstan is an alternative option for the plane.

Greetings from our region to yours.

Northern Airways has announced an upcoming order with Boeing for more aircraft, both in short haul and long haul markets.

20X 737 MAX 8 series planes for Northern Shuttle (including some thin Northern Airways mainline routes)

40X Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner planes for Northern Airways (to expand the fleet into the future (as well as replacing older 767-300ERs and the oldest 747-400s due for freight service)) General Electric will be the engine supplier for this batch of 40 planes.

As well as hearing about Airbus terminating production of the A380, Northern Airways has placed one final order for the European Superjumbo, consisting of 12 planes (at deeply discounted prices). Engine Alliance will be the engine supplier for this last batch of A380s destined for Northern Airways.

Talks are underway with Boeing to procure more freighters of the 747-8 and several more 747-8I passenger airliners with orders for those to be put in at a later time.

With news of the second crash involving a Boeing 737 MAX 8 in less than 5 months, it has put the MAX series in question in terms of safety, with several airlines grounding their MAX fleets and the rollout postponed for the 777X. Northern Airways has been met with some skepticism regarding the safety of the planes, with several already in service on the domestic routes, but the airline will stand by the 737 MAX series, though they will be under intense maintenance oversight to ensure utmost safety for our passengers.

Northern Airways, out of abundance of caution, and pressure from other countries and their aviation regulators, has decided to ground the fleet of Boeing 737 MAX series jets operating for Northern Shuttle, following g the groundings and bans of the type so far.

Argentinstan City Int'l Airport (ARG) has decided to allocate Gates H21, H22, H23, and H24 to Arthropol's Arthropol Airlines.

(OOC: Also, what countries are Madrid, Barcelona, Frankfurt, and Munich located in, RP-wise?)

Their locations/countries are the same as RL. Edit: If you need an NS account, our placeholder NS account for all countries part of the EU is European Union MT.

(OOC: Sorry for the late response, we've lost a bit of interest in NS and are on less regularly, a lot of our stuff is offsite now.)
