Well crap...
I don't think many If any people knew at the time how bad they were.
Innocents die in war, tragic but it is what it is
Also you have clear bias against America, if you truly cared about innocent civilians of hateful regimes then why not bring up the atrocities committed against the German population by both the British and Russians?
Rivierenland, Corosky, Nono germani, and People korea
I think the phrase you are looking for is complete government control
And because 'it is what it is' that's okay?
As a German with family that has suffered greatly from Nazis and Soviets, I can assure you, I am not silent on this issue. However, the post that started all was talking about Japan, hence this discussion. And, well, none of the countries you mentioned used the strongest form of a weapon of mass destruction.
It is never okay, therefore why I think the defeat of japan was necessary, they themselves deliberately targeted civilians wherever they conquered.
And regardless if weapon of mass destruction or not, civilians died didnt they?
Rivierenland and Nono germani
I never doubted the defeat was necessary, just the bombs on civilians.
We believe in Juche idea.
It was either that or a full scale invasion
I think the choice with less casualties is preferable
Especially since the US probably would’ve committed way more crimes on the Japanese homeland knowing what they did to the French.
Rivierenland and Nono germani
We believe in Jesus.
Yahlia, Rivierenland, The new mexican confederation, and People korea
As Laver said above much more in depth, the war was already basically over. The atomic bombs were unnecessary.
THEY'RE TURNING THE FREAKING FROGS GAY!!!
You can't turn something gay it either is or it isn't
NorthPortugal, Rivierenland, and Nono germani
Idk un kinda let the rwanda genocide slide so yeah.....
Also why is it when a cop got killed it will never be on the news like the case of corporal brian la vigne who was intentionaly rammed to death and what's disgusting is people in the comment say the guy who killed the officer is a hero, karma and serves him right it's just sickening 😖
Soviet invasion was a major factor, not the deciding one.
Bathera, Rivierenland, Corosky, and Nono germani
I still have no idea who is this she. There were only male candidates from this party in the ballot

The only thing the bombs did accomplish was to fasten the end of the war (which was already ending, Japan was de facto already defetead), avoid a shared occupation of the USA and URSS (like Korea or Vietnam) and kill a lot of civillians. While we could argue and debate that prolonging the war would have been worse and that avoiding a third split state was a great accomplishment given the past and current situation of Korea and Vietnam, arguing in favor of war crimes and atrocities is sussy baka and, also, against our rules.

the Japanese population was, just like the German one, manipulated by party leaders, military officers and etc. to commit those crimes for the sake of the emperor and the Kaiserreich

So, i quickly searched up the news broadcast of yesterday and i found the name of the politician in question: Anna Tsjerapanova
According to NPO 1, she's the leader of Yabloko. Whether the NPO is wrong or not, i don't know, so i'm just going to assume it is correct
