who has left the region since the good ol' swapping of governments and tons of arguments?

Gómez: Not we Addamses—technically. We’ve been over in Oceanside since it and Elparia merged.

Elparia’s RMB seems to stand for Rest My Bones these days. And it’s far quieter than the cemetery next door to me.

It’s hockey, but instead of a puck there is a ring, and the sticks don’t have blades. Also there’s no intentional physical contact.
So basically, hockey for nerds.

Merry Christmas, have a hymn:

1. The night will soon be ending;
The dawn cannot be far.
Let songs of praise ascending
Now greet the Morning Star!
All you whom darkness frightens
With guilt or grief or pain,
God’s radiant Star now brightens
And bids you sing again.

2. By heaven's hosts surrounded
A servant he became
His age-old law expounded
For our atonement's gain
Offenders of all nations
Shall taste of mercies mild
They shall receive ablation
Believing his own child

3. The night will soon be fading
Where Beth'lem's manger stands
For your release is waiting
Bring incense, ewe and ram
And hear ye all his preaching
Planned from the dawn of time
He beckons, over-reaching
With mercy's tender chime

4. Yet nights will bring their sadness
And rob our hearts of peace,
And sin in all its madness
Around us may increase.
But now one Star is beaming
Whose rays have pierced the night:
God comes for our redeeming
From sin’s oppressive might.

5. God dwells with us in darkness
And makes the night as day;
Yet we resist the brightness
And turn from God away.
But grace does not forsake us,
However far we run.
God claims us still as children
Through Mary’s infant Son.

Gomez: Last night the family celebrated Krampus Night. Wednesday and her Fiancé, Lucas Beineke visited. He’s looking *badder* these days under her influence. Like one of the ghouls on the old Michael Jackson video, “Thriller”. To think Lucas used to dress creepy—blue blazer, khaki pants. [Grins before continuing] Pugsley came directly from his last military escort out of some country. A witch doctor with the international *organ-is-ration*, Doctors Without Papers makes him a *name* in high places. He sported fresh bruises from the bumpy landing over the border—given the old heave-ho by soldiers.

Among other things, we reminisced how when the children were little they loved getting coal in their stockings from Krampus for bad behavior. They loved all the more burning the coal in the fireplace Christmas night—awaiting Santa to come down the chimney. [Chuckles]

I wouldn't mind it if you committed war crimes in Vanya.

Merry Christmas, have another hymn:

1. Come, thou long expected Jesus,
born to set thy people free;
from our fears and sins release us,
let us find our rest in thee.
Israel's strength and consolation,
hope of all the earth thou art;
dear desire of every nation,
joy of every longing heart.

2. Born thy people to deliver,
born a child and yet a King,
born to reign in us forever,
now thy gracious kingdom bring.
By thine own eternal spirit
rule in all our hearts alone;
by thine all sufficient merit,
raise us to thy glorious throne.
