I mean we were basically plummeting towards 0% anyway just ignoring Abbotts orders

all Abbott really did was announce Texas has stopped pretending to care

I heard that the Texas Legislature only meets once every two years, so not like the Gov of Texas usually does anything anyway.

i spent 6 hours trying to rescue a stranded Kerbal stuck in an elliptical orbit around Kerban, he has all my moon landing science and all that.
Within that time, i could've just landed back on the Mun and re-get the samples with a better vessel, but nah i chose to hyper-focus on my boy Jeb. and I mean hyper-focus, like I started this crap at 5 pm hoping to play some quick KSP before doing school-work, but ended up not doing anything but trying to rescue Jeb.

and by stuck in an elliptical orbit, i mean literally just the kerbal, i tried to get him to jet pack to rescue ship at an intersection, abandoning his little ship. He got within 700 meters but missed, and ended up stuck in orbit himself.

so much for having an OECD chairman come to lecture us... he barely got a word in

I think they are only required to meet once every couple years, meaning they get to choose to come more often or not.

Since legislation does get passed quite often there is no way theyíre getting that all done in a short time span anyway.

Regardless that is also the legislature. The Governor belongs to the Executive branch and like the president is in office the entire time and does what is required of him/her whenever it is required.

Basically state governments work near identical to the Federal govt, they are just much smaller

The railroad commissioner and Lieutenant governor actually hold much more power than the governor under the Texas constitution, so they're the ones that carry out most of the executive functions of the state

Not that Iíve attempted to read the 2nd longest state constitution outside the bill of rights (which is so outrageous itís funny)

But this doesnít seem right considering the only thing the Lt Governor does is be the VP role to the Governor. Granted the Lt does get to decide legislative committees which is a solid power, but heíd need more to match the Governor. Also the big thing the railroad commission does is regulate natural gas and coal and the like.

Meanwhile the Governor basically gets every power vested in POTUS

Also the L.G. doesn't just 'act' as president pro-tempore as the senate, he outright replaces them in contrast to most states governance- giving the 'executive' branch of our state government unique power over the state legislature
