Oh dang, German Nightmare hasn't been around for 107 days?!? He usually never dies, I Hope he's okay!
Glad you're all okay Corona-wise & hope that's still the case! Me too, am still working from home and going shopping only once a week. My dad (79) fell off a ladder 2 weeks ago, broke some ribs, punctured his lung and had to go to the ICU to get a thorax drainage to un-collapse his lung -- and then the corona test they did upon admittance came back positive, woohooooo! So that was a big shock. But, miraculously, he remained completely asymptomatic the whole time! They kept him in hospital for a week after the collapsed lung had fixed itself and only let him go when a final corona-test came back negative. Meanwhile, my sister and her husband and son, who live with my dad, all had to get tested and go into quarantine for 2 weeks, even after their tests had come back negative (which all makes sense, of course). So yeah, that happened. I'm just incredibly relieved my dad escaped unscathed. And I obviously hope it's because of genetics and that I've inherited those. ;)
Hi WYTYG ! What a story, I can imagine the fear and anxiety... but most importantly I'm glad that your dad managed to get through all that, congrats to him ! :)
Things are going better here in France, still working from home, but I could visit my sister and my nieces and my nephew this week-end, was good to see them after 4 months.
Hello everybody,
first off, I hope that everybody is getting through this crazy year. Just getting through it would mean an accomplishment.
As you can see, my nation had ceased to exist but I'm back now.
At the beginning of the year I had to go into rehabilitation to get myself back into working order (burn-out syndrome or permanent fatigue or whatever else the smart people with the doctorates call it) and as soon as I got back from the clinic I got back right to the beginning of our (first?) national shut-down. Since I work in school there was little I could do but stay at home and teach from afar. Yeah, well... and now it turns out that with the current ongoing pandemic my asthmatic ass should be anywhere but near other people. So there's that. But I'm hanging in there, still breathing so to speak.
I wish everybody, you and your loved ones and friends good health and good fortune. May this year be one of those where hopefully everybody can say "Yeah, so that happened" and then move on to bigger and better things. ♥
Thanks for your good wishes German Nightmare, and glad to hear you're doing fine (at least sort of...) ! All my wishes for you and your loved ones too !
Here (France) things are pretty bad again, second lockdown... I could visit my sister and her kids last week, but now in lockdown until no one knows when... but as you said getting through this year is the priority, the rest we'll see after !
Hi GN, good to see you back! Even if the reason for your long absence was sucky - then again, not being able to get help would have been even suckier.
I'm still working from home like I've been the last 8 months, nothing new happening...
Insert Quip Here, how have you been holding up? I think you're in the US but secretly hope it's the UK, at least the situation would be marginally better there... :/
The US. Holding up okay. I think it could be worse, but I hope it doesn't get worse <3
I wish all of us a very merry Christmas, happy holidays, and a good start into a hopefully better new year 2021.
Stay safe, y'all - and may the Force be with you, always.
Hi German Nightmare, thanks ! Happy holidays to everyone, and hoping 2021 will be better indeed :)
Hello everyone, how are you holding up?
