Quite fitting for a surname, if you think about it. Ambitious, like XD
What does Atanonu mean, and why are they both capitalized in your motto?
Thanks!
It's a mix of the three but majority comes from the substrate.
The alternation is to determine the light kuipiri and dark kiitenimi (short: kiinimi) numbers, aka even and odd. Dates back to the older Aruz (or Proto-Aruzhin) number system where (except for zero), all numbers are named after light and dark, alternating.
Examples:
One - Tiinonimi (lit. first of dark)
Two - Tiinoniri (lit. first of light)
Three - Köikonimi (lit. second of dark)
Four - Köikoniri (lit. second of light)
Five - Kuulonimi (lit. third of dark)
Six - Kuuloniri (lit. third of light)
Seven - Naalonimi (lit. fourth of dark)
Eight - Naaloniri (lit. fourth of light)
Nine - Vaikonimi (lit. fifth of dark)
Ten - Vaikoniri (lit. fifth of light)
It gets a bit chaotic after ten.

Cool! I've never seen a system where the cardinal numbers are derived from the ordinal numbers instead of vice versa. I might actually steal (borrow) that concept for Inna if it's ok with you*..? :P
I think however that the odd/even set up would make it a quite unstable system, as the connections between the cardinals and ordinals are a bit weak. Try teaching a kid (or a foreigner) that you count a flock of third of dark sheep but the last sheep you count is the fifth sheep. With memorisation of two terms for each number pair (cardinal/ordinal) it's definetely possible, and the underlying logic will certainly help; but I would expect such a system to fall apart over time anyhow. Which I guess is what happened before Aruzhin?
Anyway, it's cool to see such diachronic detail with a residual trace of an earlier system in the daughter language. :)
Numbers
The numeral system of Inna is decimal, with the ordinal numbers being the basic forms from which cardinal, distributive and fractional numbers are derived. When counting (with or without referent) the cardinal numbers are also used.
Ordinal numbers:
1st - alə
2nd - ətti
3rd - neni
4th - manəs
5th - mana
6th - əδen
7th - punu
8th - iδu
9th - kəkəs
10th - kəku
Cardinal numbers, with the exception of 1, are derived by suffixing -mə up to and including 4, and -(n)i for numbers above 4:
1 - ma
2 - əttimə
3 - nenimə
4 - manəsmə
5 - manani
6 - əδeni
7 - pununi
8 - iδuni
9 - kəkəsi
10 - kəkuni

It's alright, you can take my concepts without permission just like languages IRL. XD
Yep, it surely fell apart before Aruzhin with a new "modernised" system but the suffixes remained which is then inherited by Aruzhin.
Aurun has a similar one in the form of -des which is a shortened form of the suffix -desiri which came from the Aruzhin word for ordinal, kiidesiri which came from the Aruz word for number, kuidesiriini.
And then Aurun has a word for ordinal that is derived from the Aruzhin kiidesiri which is kiitesi.

I don't see anything wrong with this. XD

"City"
Aurun
Linne - from Proto-Finnic litna (city / town / castle); close relative to Estonian linn
Example:
Karalinne - "Kara City / City of Kara"

Example:
Sterlennau - formerly Sateralinne - "City of Satera"
Korholennau - formerly Korholinne - "City of Korho"
Other minor Aurun words for city:
Berje - from Germanic berg / burg
Example: Rühenberje
Staat - from Germanic stad / stadt
Example: Kolstaat
Kuyonnen
Lin - from Aurun linne which is then from Proto-Finnic litna
Example: Kurtelin
Tän - from Aurun kästän (area / region)
Example: Novitän
Na - from Aurun na / naya
Example: Sud Verastana
Stadt - from Germanic stad / stadt
Example: Zarenestadt
Berg / Berje - from Germanic berg / burg
Example: Virtenberje
Aruzhin
Naya - a shortened form of veraunaya
Example:
Kaipirinaya - "Kaipiri City"
Nitte - from Aruz nuinte (town / gathering)
Example:
Maarenitte - "Maaren City"
Na - also from veraunaya but generally means "home / place"
Example:
Veratuna - "Home / City of Vera"
Kuerhyét
Peana - city, town. Most often shortened to -pea in compound city names: Uyeapea
Beera - maritime city/town, harbour: Asubeera
Inna
Pəənə - city, town - borrowed from Kuerhyét
δandə - traditional Inna seasonal winter settlement. Can be found in Kuer city names as -tände/-dandi or variations thereof: Cietändi.
Glad you pointed this out because there is an error in my motto and in my post.
Atano actually means I was/we were.
Atanu means I/we will be.
(You can't tell the difference between first person singular or plural with the verb alone)
The whole motto means " Alone we were, alone we will be".
Atano and Atanu are capitalized because all verbs are capitalized in Acrur.

So cool that a prominent Egyptologist should release a music album. :O XD
Nice cover! I'm guessing the music is somewhere in the country/blues soundscape? Some kind of americana anyway. Here's hoping she'll bring in some North African influences in her music XD
They do use certain national fields in issues from time to time. Maybe that's it?
Both of the words are last names and I don't think I gave any information about Acrur grammar to Nationstates.
