- $800 MILLION LITERACY PROJECT; PAKISTAN JOINS OSS; ANIME BANNED
| Imran Khan signed the Astrakhan Treaty this month, making it official that Pakistan has joined the OSS. The OSS is an organization of former SGRI nations created after the tyrant died, leading to the dissolution of the SGRI. Pakistan has joined because of a vital part of it, former Afghanistan having been part of the SGRI a few years back, but under the exemption of Pakistan from open borders for citizens. This brings a new page in Russo-Pakistani relations, and the future looks bright for cooperation between the two nations.| | Moving on, the Pakistani government has moved on with the decision to ban anime from the nation. In 2016, the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party (PTI), tried to ban anime from the nation, citing bad effects on children, specifically a famous cartoon named Doraemon. This was spearheaded by legislator Dr. Murad Rass, saying: “Children are an easy target of Doraemon cartoons. These cartoons are having a negative impact on the educational and physical well-being of children...These dramas and cartoons are having a negative impact on Pakistani children.” Although it failed in 2016, this year, with some Taliban support and heavy Islamist presence in parliament, it has pushed through, making the ban official. However, piracy of anime is still a big problem, and will have to be combated in the future. | ISLAMABAD — Imran Khan has announced an 800 million dollar literacy project to increase the literacy rate in order to create a literate, educated youth. The situation is rather dire, with a total literacy rate of 55%, being raised to an immediate concern for the future of this nation. This project has been divided into 2 parts, providing infrastructure, and providing scholarships. In some rural regions of Pakistan, schools are not in range, therefore making the journey dangerous for women, and less incentive in general for people to complete school. Therefore, by building more schools nearby, it will make it easier for parents to choose their sons and daughters going to school over work. So there will be thousands of new schools, including primary, secondary, and colleges built across rural areas, with a partial focus on Balochistan to prepare for the success of Gwadar, and because it is one of the most illiterate regions of the nation. The second part involves scholarships, where the toppers of standardized exams will receive scholarships to prestigious universities in Pakistan. There will also be another scholarship helping children in impoverished regions receive vital materials and uniforms needed for school, raising incentive throughout the year for secondary school. This concludes it, but more money may be added in the future.|

The Catalan Crisis: Rocking Spanish stability for the past eight years
| The Catalan Crisis, or the 2017-2018 Spanish constitutional crisis, is an ongoing political conflict between the elected national government of Spain and the Catalan Parliament, who voted in favor of independence from Spain in 2017. The crisis has been a source of controversy, division, and conflict in Spain over the past eight years. Catalonia's status of autonomy was suspended for almost seven months by the central government in Madrid after the failed attempt to break away from Spain in 2017. With over eight years of conflict and political division, is it even possible for the scars to heal and grudges be mended? The question was answered recently when Prime Minister Augustina Torres, head of the central government in Madrid and formerly a leading politician running for Catalonia, visited Barcelona, the de facto capital of the autonomous region, in late January 2025. |
| In a referendum on October 1, 2017, a referendum declared illegal by Spain's Constitutional Court, about 90% of Catalan voters backed independence from Spain. However, the turnout for the referendum was only 43%. In a second referendum held in December 2024 on the same question, only 47% of Catalan voters backed independence from Spain, with a turnout of 54%. To one's eyes, it seems that support for independence from Spain in Catalonia, at least on paper, has dwindled steadily. Many political analysts and experts attribute the drop in support for Catalan independence to Augustina Torres, a Catalan politician turned nationwide celebrity who was elected Prime Minister of Spain in early 2024. Previous Spanish government administrations, most specifically that of PSOE party leader and now-Deputy PM Pedro Sanchez, have now been blamed for stirring up trouble, controversy, and nationalism in Catalonia in their efforts to crush pro-independence movements and parties in the autonomous region. Most high-ranking Spanish politicians like Sanchez were born in strongly pro-Madrid regions such as Madrid itself and other outlying regions within the mountainous region of the Spanish capital. This has caused these politicians, who wield significant political and military power over the Catalans, to be ignorant of Catalan wishes, aspirations, and interests. |
| The field changed completely when Augustina Torres, a young yet experienced politician who just came from representing Catalonia in the Congress of Deputies, was elected Prime Minister, aka the head of the government, of the Kingdom of Spain during the 2024 elections. Having come from serving and living within the autonomous region of Catalonia, Prime Minister Torres was and is supportive of Catalan ideals and nationalism, but was and is a strong opponent of Catalan independence. Following the abdication of King Felipe VI as King of Spain, Prime Minister Torres went on a five day tour of the Catalan region in order to ensure that 'unity and prosperity continue to flourish even in this time of great sorrow'. Some observers stated that the true reason behind the tour was to ensure that the Catalans, who had a long history of hating on the Spanish monarchy for being pro-unity and anti-independence, did not stir up trouble during the transition process from King Felipe to his heir apparent, Princess Leonor. |
| During the tour, specifically in Barcelona, the capital of the Catalan autonomous region, Prime Minister Torres was, surprisingly enough, greeted by large and cheering crowds rather than anti-government protests. In an interview with local reporters in Barcelona, Prime Minister Torres stated that, 'I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and kind crowds that greeted me here upon my arrival'. Support for Princess Leonor as Queen of Spain was also reportedly high, as according to official referendum statistics taken in the days after King Felipe's abdication, 69% of the Catalan people were in favor of Princess Leonor being crowned Queen. According to sources on the ground in the region, this was due to the fact that Leonor 'was and is not a conservative, but a liberal progressive sort of royal', said one Catalan civilian. Senators in the Cortes Generales' upper house (the Senate) expressed their great interest in seeing what sort of peace and unity Princess Leonor could bring to the Catalan region following her coronation in February. |
| Our original question was whether the scars and grudges created by the Catalan Crisis could be healed and mended. Could it? In the current political atmosphere Spain lives in, with liberal progressives leading the charge for liberty, unity, and solidarity, the answer is yes. It's possible. But, like with everything political, the path to achieving such a peace is long and hard, and it will most certainly take years and possibly decades to achieve the goal of peace and unity within the Catalan autonomous region. |

The Cartels held a strange place in Mexican society that could not be taken out with solely a gun. Obrador held this belief strongly with his saying during his campaign “Abrazos, no puñetazos” or “Hugs not punches”. In many Mexican communities the cartel held the status of a semi-lawful authority; they would handle petty crimes to serious crimes in the community and keep some of the population safe if it provided good PR to them. They would dish out punishments that the proper authorities couldn’t or were unwilling too. Another problem would be Cartels were family of the community, no matter their crimes they were still Familia. The goal of Obrador was to stop young men from joining and those wanting a way out of the gangs, a way out in safety and a new life. This soft approach would be alongside military action to aid in pushing gang members to leave these organizations.

The goal of the Programa de Salvación was to bring low rank gang members and non violent drug offenders who are currently in prison out of the organizations and reintroduce them to a legal lifestyle for them and their family. They would work in legal industries and be safe from retaliation.
-Tactics-
The Programa de Salvación would achieve this goal similar to the Witness Protection Program in the United States but this would be open to almost any low level gang member without the need to inform against the organization they are a part of. Those in the program would be moved across México to completely remove them from community ties that most likely kept them in the organization. They would be given new identities and would gain government assistance in finding stable employment in jobs such as mining, agriculture, and manufacturing.

A meeting between three Latin American nations would be held in the historic Mexican city of Veracruz on the eastern coast of Mexico. Much would be spoken about at this meeting, but the main topic of this would be about the creation of a elite anti-drug force able to operate in these three nations signing the deal. Agents would be from these nations and many bases of operation would be established in “problem” regions. The nations of La Plata Nevbrejnovitz, Gran Colombia Lemlar, and Mexico would establish the Grupo de Elite Antidroga more commonly referred to as the GEA. It has been rumoured that shortly after the decision to create the group agents have been sent undercover to the Mexican city of Cuiliacán the heart of the Sinaloa Cartel. The GEA would rely heavily on undercover tactics and would be picked from the best of the best from each of the three participating nations.

With the opening of the first 2025 session of the Finnish Parliament in February, speakers from all corners of Finnish politics introduced a series of policy proposals and objectives for the year ahead. In the first few gatherings of the Parliament, policy debates raged mostly over two subjects: fertility incentives and military intervention in Sweden. Sweden, which has seen a violent insurrection over the past several years, was brought up by the Committee for Cultural Survival in that the violence there threatens Finnic and Samic peoples in the northeast of Sweden. Peacekeeping measures for the sake of keeping order in Sweden were seen positively by most quarters of the legislature, and a military move by the Finnish Armed Forces is likely.
The second subject, pronatalism, has been thrust into the Parliament several times over the last several years. With a falling population that could only be currently sustained by immigration—seen skeptically by many—the idea of providing stipends or other incentives to those who have children has been put forth by parliamentarians in the more conservative wings of the National Coalition. Discussions on the matter are likely to carry on for some time, as austere politicians rage against a budget increasingly strained by existing expenditures, new cultural programs and peacekeeping efforts to come.
