      대조선국
      KINGDOM OF KOREA

Korea Demands the Return of the Dokdo Islands (Liancourt Rocks), Navy Sails Along Territorial Waters

          | Korea has reignited the long running disupute of the Dokdo Islands, the islands had been under Korean control since 1954, at the time the divided Korea both agreed that the islands belonged to Korea. Japan maintained that it had claim to the islands dating back to the Edo period, it wouldn't be until the 2000s that the dispute would turn to near full-scale war. In 2007 Japan seized the islands claiming Korea had sunk a Japanese fishing vessel outside of the territorial waters, this was stringently denied by Korea offering up Korean military movements on the day of the sinking. |

          | In January of 2014, Prime Minister Moon Jae-In accepted Japanese control over the islands for the moment but did not relinquish Korea's claim the islands, it was met with much backlash and is acredited to his downfall in 2016. Korea has maintained it's claim ever since, and in 2019 following the downfall of Park's regime documents were leaked showing that plans were being drawn up to retake the islands from a now much more pacifist Japan. A back and forth between the two foreign offices has led to increased tension between the two nations, although Korea would be the nation to take it one step futher. |

          | In the early hours of the morning, three Kwanggaeto the Great-class destoryers would sail towards the Japanese controlled islands, around a mile from Japan's claimed waters the ships would turn to skim along the claimed boundary although not entering the waters the act was designed to cause alarm within the Japanese military and government. The ships would skim a second time around thirty minutes later before making a journey south-west towards the largest Korean island, Jeju, where the Korean navy's state of the art naval base had just finished construction. |

November, 2022 - Sudan Temporarily Scales Down Invasion Forces and Changes Operation Classification to Intervention

As expected, Sudan was received
with a mixture of both stained and positive relations from the global community towards its act in Chad. Despite the international community claiming that Sudan has no businesses in Chad, the Sudanese government has stated otherwise in a statement by Deputy Minister of the Democratic Unionist Party Anib Gazaal concerning the threats made my interventionist powers in Chad.

DM Anib Gazaal (DUP-WN) :| "Sudan will not stand for threats by the same countries who accuse us of invading Chad when they come from across the earth only to unleash savagery and brutality on the unfortunate people of Chad. However Parliament has sent me to announce that the Sudanese Parliament on behalf of the Republic of Sudan has recended its declaration of war and has thus declared the mobilization of troops on Chad as nothing else but a permitted and justified military intervention in Chad for the purpose of eliminating and combating terrorist threats to both the people of Sudan and the people of Chad. It is obvious that neither Paris nor Moscow truely has any regards for civilian lives in Chad and once again Sudan shall mobilize to protect those people. If they do show hostilities towrads our troops for protecting our country from terrorists then it does truly make you think who's side are they on. They want to keep the war going while sudan wants to put an end to it."[/b]

Following the statement Sudan had officially called the troops presence in Chad as an intervention and not an invasion meaning that the Sudanese Parliament had implied that Sudan has absolutely 0 reasons or initiative to occupy and take over parts of Chad in the name of expansion and imperialism with one Memember of Parliment calling it the "sin of government"

The Sudanese Land Armed Forces have also made it clear that this is an intervention and has vowed to pull troops out of Chad once either Parliment or the Prime Minister orders them to do so once the war is over. Speaking of which Prime Minister Hatim Al-Sir had also ordered that SLAF to scale down military presence in Chad by having almost all military vehicles including IFVs, tanks, and Armoured transport vehicles to be returned to Sudan out of security reasons effectively giving them military trucks and jeeps instead some fitted with machine guns or Anti Air. However the 1,000 fighting force in Adre would stay, but the Prime Minister had put a hold on any additional reinforcements to Chad from Sudan. In other news the Prime Minister had also made statements on thread facing his country's soldiers as he is firm that Sudan will not let go of the Oustani Region. The Sudanese Military has already made it a priority to secure the Ouadi Kadja river from militant threats and will not allow such vulnerable position in the Sudanese border to be in the hands of a failing state. Sudan will not be giving up the oustani region and in a show of force has transported and activated one Persian Angel Air Defence System encompassing Persian Angel Missiles, Raad Missiles and Sharp Star Missiles positioned at the nearby village of Habilah situated well within Sudanese territory. The anti-air defense systems have been put in Sudan knowing any attack on its position would bd an attack on sudanese soil and would effectively become a provoked attack on Sudan.

Meanwhile the Sudanese Air Force has also declared taht it is at all times ready and prepared to defend SLAF positions on the ground as they mobolize 6x of their Eurofighter Typhoon Multirole Fighters fron Wad Sedina to Nayala International Airport to be prepared at a moment notice to intercept any hostile air crafts headed towards military positions.

For now Sudan has also halted any further military mobilization but would not retreat yet nor push any further into Chad until some deal has been resulted from the Bagdad Conference later this month. The Sudanese Air Force is prepared for retaliation against any hostile action without hesitation and the Sudanese Land Armed Forces are also prepared to either withdraw or continue with Operation Dawn at a moments notice from Khartoum. Both the Sudanese Navy and Sudanese National Coast Guard had also been ordered to be on high alert as Parliament considers repealing the Good Faith Act that was aimed at fixing relations between Khartoum and Moscow all while insuring naval co-operation in the Red Sea. Sudan will protect itself. And has a right to do so.

SGRI General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov Gives Sudan 24 Hours to Leave Chadian Civil War or Face Being "Collateral"

In a direct statement sent to the Sudanese Prime Minister, SGRI General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, who currently oversees and directs SGRI operations in the civil war in Chad, has officially demanded the Sudanese government to remove any and all personnel and military equipment from within Chad in order to ensure the conflict can be contained. SGRI General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov further mentioned that the Sudanese military is in the position to become additional collateral in the advent of SGRI aerial precision bombings in strategic areas to diminish terrorist enlargement and entrenchment. SGRI General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov ended his demand with giving the Sudanese government 24 hours to leave Chad because the SGRI will no longer avoid bombings in particular zones that must be subdued.

This civil war has gotten out of control, with countries who should not be here at all bombing and costing lives of Chadians who shouldn't have even been killed. We all want to make a stable government in Chad, but it must come with negotiations not bombing. We must agree on a ceasefire here and now between foreign forces, or just decide which side we will support, as clearly different countries supporting different groups is not a prime strategy for Chadian stability. I also believe that after said civil war ends, there should be no European bases or military presence left in the country. Europe has intervened, but it should only for the stability of Chad, not to spread foreign influence. I hope we all agree on this terms, and together we can ensure a safer future for this country. Khartoum, The Republic of Sudan
December, 2022 - Emergency Line

Following the warning placed on the Sudanese Government and Armed Forces by General Yunus-Bek Yevkurov of the SGRI Operations in Chad, a Secretary of the Prime Minister runs into his office to inform him of the threat made against Sudanese soldiers. The Prime Minister was well aware this was going to happen and had already drawn plans for the withdrawl of 1,000 Sudanese troops from Adre in the even of coalition bombing. Al-Sir just didn't know where exactly General Yevkurov had planed a strike. If it was Adre then Sudanese troops would have indeed been faced with an accidental death. If it was Oustani then it would have been a purposefully attack on the Sudanese Army and could not be mistaken as an "accident"

Before establishing an emergency communication line between Khartoum and Moscow, Prime Minister Al-Sir had informed the Sudanese Air Force to be on standby and have 3 Eurofighter Typhoon Multirole Fighters stationed in Nyala be prepared for immediate interception with Russian forces if and only if the bombing was planned on Oustani. But that's the information Prime Minister Hatim Al-Sir had to get from SGRI Tsar Vladimir Putin.

Prime Minister Al-Sir has officially sent a message to Moscow for an emergency based phone call between Khartoum and Moscow to share more information before the 24 hour warning had expired

In the Mediterranean Sea, General Yevkurov would be beginning to plan and organize a naval launch of 5 Kalibr-M cruise missiles toward Oustani AND Adre. Simultaneously, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin would receive a notice from one of his secretary aides that Prime Minister Al-Sir was requesting a phone conversation with him. Understanding that it may have to do with the recent 24 hour notice given to the Sudanese military, Vladimir Putin would have his secretary send the phone call through to his executive office. Upon closing his doors and taking a seat at his desk, Vladimir Putin would answer the phone.

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin:

National Assembly Passes Agricultural Program
National Assembly Complex, Green Zone, Baghdad, Republic of Iraq

December, 2022
In the first major legislation passing since the snap elections, the National Assembly has passed the Agriculture and Food Revitalization Act. The bill passed with a 255-51 vote, representing broad bipartisan support and political cooperation amongst parties. Prime Minister Khalil has lauded the effort, describing the bill as ‘the first step towards prosperity’ for Iraq. To many, the bill is the first evidence of the Khalil Administration making good on campaign promises of serving the average Iraqi.

The Bill introduces sweeping reforms, regulations, and subsidies for Iraq’s agricultural sector and represents a major shift in the Public Distribution System, which many Iraqi’s have relied on for food security since the days of Saddam. The PDS is a government food program that provides free food to millions of Iraqis via government purchase from domestic farmers at high cost, but mostly from foreign imports which Iraq gets most of its food from. The reliance on foreign import has frustrated growth in the Iraqi agricultural sector. It represents only 3%, contributing to government neglect, of Iraqi GDP but employs 20% of the population. This combination has made food security and agriculture a very important issue to the average Iraqi but not to the Iraqi government.

The majority of Iraqi farmers participate in larger, state-operated farming companies in which the government subsidizes farming operations and buys product and higher-than-market rates. This would be good for farmers if the government didn’t then take most of the profit via their equity in the companies. Government ownership has stifled profits, preventing growth and ultimately perpetuating national reliance on food import. The first major tenant of the bill returns the government's share of these companies to farmers, increasing profits and decreasing government will in the market.

While the government will no longer be owning major portions of farming companies, the bill also introduces new regulations aimed at improving farming. Bad, short-term focused farming practices have played environmental hell on farmland. Poor irrigation wastes precious water, livestock overgraze, and crop cycles choke the land of nutrients. Many of these practices have only come in place because farmers cannot afford to do better. The bill introduces a regulatory overhaul of farming practices to conserve water, preserve crop nutrients, and ultimately save resources. To offset costs farmers will incur to reach standard, six new state-sponsored credit unions have been established across the country to help subsidize farmers' operations and purchases.

The third, and perhaps most important part of the bill, is the reforms to the Public Distribution System. The PDS provides food security for many internally displaced Iraqis and the poorest urban citizens. However, in the thirty years since its institution, the PDS has fallen to abuse. Middle class citizens who can otherwise afford food leech off it, leaving the citizens who need it most without. Over the next 12 months, recipients in the top 20% of income who are registered for PDS will be removed from the system. This will free up adequate revenue for farming subsidies and promote the local businesses they would be buying from otherwise.

One of the biggest worries for growing the agriculture sector is the environment. Climate change will advance desertification in Iraq, and even water conservation systems will not totally offset the expected growth in farming from the bill. In amendments, the bill added a new program to plant millions of trees along the Tigris-Euphrates and its subsidiaries, hoping to prevent soil erosion, water loss, and salinization. It also creates funding for a program of chemical engineering, reintroducing lost nutrients into the ground and water artificially.

The Prime Minister has touted the law as the first that’s truly ‘for the people.’ In the short term, it is expected to considerably raise wages for workers and allow farmers to expand their operations, circulating new money in the economy for millions of Iraqis. In the long term, it is expected to decrease public and private dependence on foreign food imports, grow the economy, reduce unemployment, and even save the government money by reducing the necessity of subsidizing food purchases for the PDS. The most ambitious claim of the bill is that it will decrease urban congestion. A great many formerly rural residents were forced to abandon agriculture and move to cities by the war and economic tough times, which has only exacerbated the price of the PDS. Hopefully, the economic growth will recreate jobs for trained farm workers forced into cities. Unsurprisingly, the bill has proved popular with poor citizens and farmers who the bill is expected to help the most.

Republican Palace, Karkh District, Baghdad, Republic of Iraq

November 15, 2022
The Republican Palace was at first constructed under King Faisal II to be a personal residence. Under Saddam, the palace was tripled in size and became the diplomatic seat of Ba’athist Iraq as well as one of the seven dozen palaces he owned. Now, it was the Presidential Residence, Presidential Office, and Office of the Foreign Ministry. As a result, it was the natural place for the Baghdad Conference to be held. Diplomats from eight countries convened in the Foreign Ministry’s main conference room. At the front of the room, on an elevated platform, sat Iraqi Foreign Minister Umar Moradi and Paramountican State Secretary Anthony Blinken. In front of them was a large circle of tables for the representatives to convene at. They were seated in order for their acceptance to the Conference starting with Sudan, and then SGRI, Germany, Egypt, Bangladesh, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Delegates:
1. Sudanese Delegate- Nureldin Satti, former Ambassador to the USP
2. Russian Delegate- Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov
3. German Delegate- General Herman Berthold, Commander of German Forces- Chad
4. Egyptian Delegate- Minister of Defence Colonel General Mohammed Zaki.
5. Bangladeshi Delegate- Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Moment, Brigadier General Md Muhsin Alam, Commander of the Bangladeshi 1st Para-Commando Brigade
6. French Delegate- Chief of the Defense Staff Pierre de Villiers
7. Spanish Delegate- Captain Jacinto Guisado
8. British Delegate- Foreign Minister Dominic Raab

Moments before the Conference began, Moradi turned to Blinken and grumbled, “eight countries and only a three of them actually sent diplomats to a diplomatic conference.”

Moradi hit a gavel a few times, bringing the room’s attention to him. Speaking above the low chatter of camera shutters, he began:

“Gentleman, today we officially convene the Baghdad Conference On The Conduct of The Conflict in Chad. We are here to negotiate a settlement on the conduct of this war, for the purpose of preventing undue violence, lowering international tension, and securing a swift and peaceful end to the conflict in Chad.”

“First, we will reiterate the current involvement of each country. Next, each representative will be permitted a statement regarding their interests, wishes, demands, and anything else they think appropriate. From there, the Chair or a delegation will make a suggestion for cooperation. Discussion will be opened to the floor. You will be permitted to respond only when addressed, and we ask all members not to speak out of turn.”

Current Involvements:
1. Sudan- Has intervened in Northern Chad, conducting offensive ground and air operations against the ISFC, provided weapons and equipment to the AAFC and allowed passage of Arab National Guard volunteers
2. Russia- Supporting the DFP in operations against LURA in attempt to unify the Christian South via air and ground forces
3. Germany- Providing men and material to PGC as peacekeeping forces, participating in French-enforced No-fly Zone
4. Egypt- Egyptian military providing weapons and training to foreign volunteers who are sent to join the AAFC
5. Bangladesh- Deployed troops to fight with AAFC, donated weapons and vehicles to AAFC
6. France- Providing men and material to PGC as peacekeeping forces, enforcing No-fly Zone with Germany, currently withdrawing majority of troops
7. Spain- Operating air base in AAFC territory, conducting offensive operations against all groups
8. United Kingdom- Peacekeeping force supporting France and Germany in PGC

“Now, in order of seating, the delegate from Sudan will be permitted to make their statements. They will be followed by the Russian, German, Egyptian, Bangladeshi, French, Spanish, and British delegates. Ambassador Satti?”

    | Chief of the Defense Staff Pierre de Villiers would turn on his microphone and lean forward in his chair. |

| COTDS Pierre de Villiers | "Thank you monsieurs. Firstly it is an honour to be here in the presence of all of you and indeed a wonderful thing that we were all able to agree on holding this conference in the first place. So let us not have gathered here in vain. I thank the Iraqi Government for allowing us to use Baghdad for this occasion. The ethnically diverse conflict we have witnessed in Chad is one created by the neglect and economic strife the Republic of Chad has endured since it's independence. As a colony France did see over some developments but even we are guilty of this neglect. The original intent of the French intervention in this conflict was to provide aid to civilians, quell known terrorist factions, support not only the PGC but a coalition government, and mitigate foreign intervention and influence, or advantage seekers by creating the no fly zone. Now certain governments, most of which we see represented here today were given aerospace access to deliver aid, supplies, and troops to certain factions in Chad. French forces did indeed conduct a series of precision airstrikes on Abéché and Biltine after intelligence was received regarding ISFC positions in those cities and the AAFC's possible intent to attack forces allied to France. We currently hold onto the capital N’Djamena with our German counterparts as we continue to supply aid, food, potable drinking water, and other supplies including shelter to the civilian population. France has since withdrawn many of the 10,000 troops originally sent and we now maintain only 2,000 troops from the 2nd Foreign Engineer Regiment in N'Djamena at our permanent base alongside the German forces. France is only looking to secure the best interests of the Chadian people and preserve the national sovereignty of Chad's borders which have been violated by those nations whom were not invited by the previous government or it's remnants which is the PGC faction. However more importantly we seek an end to all hostilities as soon as possible so that a peaceful compromise might be met and so that Chad itself may have the opportunity to come together, solve it's own problems, and form a new government with the support of the people. That government, whatever or whomever it may consist of will have the support of France. I now yield the floor to my friend and counterpart, Captain Jacinto Guisado of Spain."

"Your Excellency the pleasure is all mine. I am sure you know I'm calling you about the 24 hour notice. Our countries can avoid any so called accidents. I would appreciate it if we talk about where General Yevkurov plans to attack. There are two places and both are drastically different situations."

Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin:

"Mr. Prime Minister, the SGRI is aiming to primarily concentrate a targeting strike in Oustani AND Adre. We have some initial intelligence and information about militarized entities in those areas; however, we have not been able to confirm who they are to be exact. That is the intention."

Hatim Al-Sir:

"I was Afraid of that. With all due respect your Excellency, General Yevkurov cannot attack Oustani specifically. Those militarized entities in the region belong only to the Sudanese Land Armed Forces and nothing else perhaps other than the civilian population there. The region of Oustani if you have not been informed about yet has been captured and liberated from the AAFC and is currently under the control and protection of the Sudanese Land Armed Forces. An attack on Oustani could almost be precivied as a direct attack on Sudanese Forces and the nation as a whole. So I do ask you to inform General Yevkurov of the matter and have him abort the attack on Sudanese Forces in Oustani because frankly there is no reason for Russia to directly attack our troops. If you do just that I'll order the retreat of Sudanese Forces from Adre back into sudan, as unlike Oustani, That city had been completely rid of civilians and is heavily infested by militants on both sides. Please Your Excellency, we do not want an issue with Moscow and we are sure you feel the same way."

In this event, I will have General Yevkurov steer clear of Oustani. We will focus on Adre with initial precision strikes on the agreement that your troops return to the Sudanese side of the border. This is satisfactory to me and I am glad you have seen this from my point of view. Is there anything?"

"I am relieved as well. It's a good thing I called first. At least the civilians and troops in Oustani are protected. However I do want to let you know the retreat of Sudanese troops is temporary. Parliament would most likely forbid me from sending troops back into Chad again as I have less than a month left in the office. However I am not exactly sure how Prime Minister Elect Kiir will handle the situation that I put him in. I'm just letting you know in the Sudanese Republic. Nothing is permanent. Have a good day sir and Khartoum looks forward to co-operation with Moscow always."

Khartoum, The Republic of Sudan
December, 2022 - Crisis Averted

With the conclusion of a deal following an emergent phone call between Khartoum and Moscow, it was determined That Sudanese troops in Oustani would be made safe and would stay positioned in the region. As a sign of compromise and good faith between Khartoum and Moscow, Prime Minister Al-Sir had ordered the complete yet quiet withdrawal of 1,000 SLAF Units from the Battle of Adre within the next 6 hours before Russia bombs the city and the militants in it.

Al-Sir had also ordered the Air Force to Standown as it was later discovered that Russia was planning to lunch a missile strike from a naval vessel in the Mediterranean and not a series of bombing runs by Russian Planes. Either way Sudan had averted a crisis but the Prime Minister was rather met by heavy criticism from the media for his deployment of troops into a slaughter zone in Chad in the first place.

The Sudanese Air Force had however still provided a statement saying the bombardment of ISFC position in Chad shall not be stopped and will continue until further notice.

Korean Aircraft Briefly Enter Airspace Around Dokdo

          | Four Korean T-50 Golden Eagle's flew at roughly 36,000 feet flying towards the Dokdo Islands, the mission was to scout out the recent militarisation of the Islands, a response from Japan following recent events and Korea's alleged provocation by send ships near to the territorial waters around the Islands. The flight of four approached the boundary between international airspace and Japanese claimed airspace, the aircraft turned sharply away from the boundry, in the process briefly entering the airspace before heading back to Gimhae Air Base just outside of Busan. |

          | The tension between Japan and Korea had been unexpected by many, including those in Korea, given the King's proximity to Japan due to his marriage, he had stayed relatively quiet on the matter publicly, although privately it is alleged he supports the reclaimation of the islands for the sake of 'Korean integrity'. Minister of Defense, Suh Wook, stated that the brief entry into Japanese claimed airspace was an 'accident, and was not intentional'. The statement was short, but gave the press enough to satisfy the public that Korea was in the right. |
